I used the Stampin’ Up! Merriest Moments stamp set and coordinating Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder Dies to create a quick Christmas card to share with you today.
This week for Create with Connie & Mary we are back to our regularly scheduled colour challenge! I am of course super excited about the launch of the new July - December Mini Catalogue from Stampin' Up! that I had to dive into some of my new products! This bundle really grabbed my attention right from the get go, Merriest Moments. The stamp set is paired with the Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder, which is just the coolest thing! I knew that it would look fantastic with the colours that w

Theme #4: CASE the Catty from a page numbered in the 60s Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the fourth blog hop celebrating Bronwyn Eastly. We're a group of stamping friends that are recognising Bron's 60th Birthday in 2022 with six blog hops, over six months, with six fun themes! The theme for this blog hop is to CASE a page numbered in the 60's from Stampin' Up!s 2022-2023 Annual Catalogue. The picture above shows the cards illustrated on page 66 featuring the Awash in Beauty Suite. The card I am CASEing is the card at the top centre with the So Saffron card-base. Here is my version: I CASEd the CATTY's card layout and that there was a die cut as background to the design. I so love the background die from the Organic Beauty dies, but it hasn't made its way to my homes as yet, so I needed to find another background die. Prior to making this card I had just created my first Christmas card for 2022, so as I was starting to get into the Christmas groove my eyes fell on the Christmas Pinecone dies. That decision completely changed the mood of this CASE. I had something different in mind. I started by die cutting the finer pine/pinecone background from some Pearlescent Speciality Paper. After being partially adhered down onto a piece of Basic White card-stock that had some splatters randomly stamped in Fresh Freesia ink; some Soft Sea Foam Classic ink was very lightly blended over the background with a brilliant Stampin' Up! Blending Brush. Next - some stamping on Basic White card-stock using the Merriest Moments stamp set. The poinsettias were stamped in Polished Pink, holly in Soft Sea Foam, Pine fronds in Mint Macaron and the rounder leaves in Soft Succulent. They were all fussy cut and I couldn't resist adding some Shimmery White Embossing Paste. It's such a pity the camera doesn't show the shimmer. The flowers and leaves were arranged with a sense of the layout of the card I was CASEing. The card was finished with a white heat embossed sentiment from the Christmas to Remember stamp set on Mint Macaron card-stock. The sentiment was die cut with a coordinating label die from the Seasonal Labels dies. The label was trimmed a little narrower with my Trimmer. Some Iridescent Pearl Basic Jewels added that final touch to the centres of the poinsettias and were scattered on the label and background. I don't know what came over me - using so much shimmer - ah well it's for Christmas. An extra poinsettia and leaves were adhered to a Basic White card inner. Some extra poinsettias were adhered to the back flap of a Basic White C6 Envelope. I do love, in some simple way, to link the card inner and envelope to the card front design. Thank you so much for dropping in and helping to celebrate Bron's coming birthday. While it would have been so disappointing for Bron to give up the dream of celebrating with an overseas holiday, it is so much fun to celebrate with monthly blog hops and there are still more to come over the next 2 months. We will be here again on the 3rd of August, launching the blog hop at 7.00pm EST. Hop on over to the next blog by the lovely Elizabeth Gross and check out her delightful creation. Crumb Cake with Merriest Moments Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Colour Creations Blog Hop. We are working though the Stampin' Up! colours in alphabetical order. This week’s Blog Hop is focussing on a biscuity colour called Crumb Cake. Crumb Cake is part of the Neutrals Colour Family and is a soft versatile colour. This is a lovely colour and can be used in so many situations; consider sand, wood, rocks, stems of flowers and so much more. As a neutral it can go with many colours. I love it with Petal Pink, Basic White and metallics, which are the colours used in this project. Crumb Cake is produced in Stampin' Up!'s card-stock, both A4 & 12"x12"; Classic Stampin' inks (ink pads & re-inkers); Stampin' Write Markers; Stampin' Blends; Neutrals Designer Series Paper as well as Painted Christmas, Abigail Rose, and Tea Boutique DSPs; plus the Bakers Twine Essentials Pack; Christmas Whimsy and A Million Thanks Card Kits and Abigail Rose File Folders. Here is my card for this blog hop: I love using Crumb Cake for Christmas projects, whether it's with a range of reds and greens or a more alternative colour scheme, like this one. I also really love white with Crumb Cake but couldn't resist adding a little Petal Pink and Gold. The background Crumb Cake card-stock panel was dry embossed with the pine folder from the Wintry 3D Embossing Folders pack. Some Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue was smeared over parts of the embossed panel and Gilded Flakes were sprinkled over and the excess rubbed off. I love this relaxed gold effect peeking through the top layers. This background panel was adhered directly to the Crumb Cake card base. The Merriest Frames Hybrid Embossing Folder and Dies were used to cut and emboss a Vellum card-stock frame. A second one was also cut, so extra Vellum foliage could be added around the frame. A sentiment from the Hope & Peace stamp set was white heat embossed on Petal Pink card-stock using White Emboss Powder (found as part of the Basic Stampin' Emboss Powders), Versamark ink and a Heat Tool. Some poinsettias and foliage from the Merriest Moments stamp set were white heat embossed on Vellum. They were cut out with the coordinating dies. Glue Dots or Dimensionals were used to arrange the floral pieces and Petal Pink Elegant Faceted Gems were added to the poinsettias' centres and some more were scattered around to give a little sparkle. Gold Holly Leaves were tucked under the flowers. A Basic White card-stock inner was stamped with poinsettias in Petal Pink Classic Stampin' ink and the flower centres & a sentiment from the Merriest Moments stamp set were stamped in Crumb Cake Classic ink. A Basic White C6 envelope was similarly stamped. Thank you so much for dropping by. I do value the time you spent with me. There is more Crumb Cake creativity. Christmas with Merriest Moments Hi. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the Art with Heart Team 2021 Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. I have 2 cards to share for this week's projects, both featuring the Merriest Moments bundle. I am fascinated with the hybrid embossing folder and love the coordination of the more intricate die cut and the embossing folder which covers most of a standard card front. Given the embossed detail, a sentiment on the centre label and some stamped/die cut poinsettias & leaves are all that are needed. The colour scheme I used is inspired by the gorgeous Whimsy and Wonder Speciality Designer Series Paper (just using a few of the colours). As time is short this week my cards will be simpler than my norm. I created two cards with similar layouts and colour schemes to be able to asses the different effect of plain embossing against the addition of a die cut and embossed layer. Both cards are mainly Basic White with touches of colour from the leaves, flowers and sentiment. I love the clean look of white expanse. Card 1: This first card just uses the embossing folder for the card front's base layer, ie the Basic White card-stock card was embossed with the Merriest Moments Hybrid Embossing Folder and then adhered to the Thick Basic White card base. The sentiment was stamped on Basic White card-stock in Soft Succulent Classic Stampin' ink and die cut with the stitched rectangle from the Merriest Frames dies. It fits the centre embossed panel beautifully and was added with some Dimensionals. The poinsettias were stamped in Blushing Bride ink or die cut from Blushing Bride card-stock. The tiny die cut poinsettias had some White Craft ink added to the petal tips. The larger poinsettias were formed with 2 or 3 layers. Some leaves were stamped with Mint Macaron ink and the Holly leaves were stamped with Soft Succulent ink. The flowers and leaves were arranged and the design finished off with Opal Rounds embellishments at the flower centres plus another one so there was an uneven number of embellishments. I had some Soft Succulent holly leaves left over so they were added to a Basic White card inner. I also plan to add some Blushing Bride berries but forgot to add them prior to photographing the card. Please imagine they are added. 😉 A C6 Basic White Envelope was stamped with some of the pine fronds to coordinate with the overall design. Card 2: The second card's Basic White card-front was also embossed but a second piece of Basic White card-stock was used to die cut the leafy frame and this was passed through the embossing folder. It created such a beautiful effect. The centre panel was adhered to the underneath embossed panel leaving the frame of leaves free to add more dimension. As with card 1, leaves were stamped in either Mint Macaron or Soft Succulent ink and the larger poinsettias were stamped in Blushing Bride ink. A different sentiment from the Merriest Moments Stamp set was stamped in Soft Succulent ink and die cut with the stitched rectangle from the coordinating die set. The leaves and flowers were arranged and adhered in place with either Multipurpose Liquid Glue or Dimensionals. Opal Rounds embellishments were added at the flower centres and elsewhere. I love their subtle sparkle with that touch of pink. While not showing in the photographs, some Wink of Stella was added to give subtle all over shimmer. I also had a couple of Mint Macaron pine fronds left over so they were added to the Basic White card inner. Sometimes a little decoration is all that is needed. A C6 Basic White Envelope was stamped in Mint Macaron ink with some of the same fronds to coordinate. I always enjoy creating to share with you and I certainly had fun playing/experimenting with the Merriest Moments bundle from the July-December 2021 Mini Catalogue. I am pleased with both cards and while I love the addition of the extra die cut and embossed frame layer, the card with the single embossed layer is also effective and would be great for creating in batches or for a simple card class. After creating with the soft and subtle colours, which I love, next time I must also play with more traditional Christmas colours. I have a number of ideas. The Merriest Moments bundle is delightful. If you are in Australia, don't already have a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and would like your own copy of Stampin' Up's 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue and or the July - December Mini Catalogue then let me know and I will be delighted to send them to you. Heart of Christmas Blog Hop: Happiness Abounds & Merriest Moments Hello. Welcome to Valley Inspirations with Andrea and the first Art with Heart Team Heart of Christmas Blog Hop for 2022. It's hard to believe we are half way through the year. So glad you are joining us for our first 2022 Heart of Christmas Blog Hop. I know some people are thinking - its too early to focus on Christmas. For me, it's a great time to start so I don't have pressure to create cards on top of other Christmas preparations in December. I have enjoyed creating a card using both Christmas and non Christmas products. Here it is: Apart from Christmas in July, this month is also watercolour month so I am planning to use a range of watercolour techniques throughout the month. This project used watercolour to colour the gorgeous Happiness Abounds flowers with Cherry Cobbler Classic ink. I watched Emma Goddard, a UK SU Demonstrator, this morning stamp in Stampin' Up!s Classic ink and then use a Water Painter to pull the ink from the stamped lines to colour the flowers and leaves. Its a while since I have used this technique so thought I would give it a go for my card. My Cherry Cobbler Classic ink pad was not really juicy so the initial colouring was fairly soft. To gain greater depth of colour I added some extra Cherry Cobbler with my fine Water Painter. I love the effect of watercolour with this colour. I took my colour scheme from the a selection of the Lights Aglow Suite. It is a beautiful, beautiful suite and the speciality papers are so gorgeous. I used the Lights Aglow Speciality DSP - it is amazing with gold added to many of the designs. For this card I chose a simpler "B" side design in Evening Evergreen. It was mounted directly to an Evening Evergreen card base. Two Shimmery White card-stock frames were cut using the Merriest Frames Hybrid dies/embossing folder and they were coloured with Soft Succulent ink using a Blending Brush. All the edges were cut off and layered over the centre section of the background. The flowers were arranged then adhered in place with Dimensionals. White Glittered Organdy & Simply Elegant Trim bows were tucked under the flowers and adhered with Glue Dots. A sentiment from the Merriest Moments stamp set was white heat embossed onto Cherry Cobbler card-stock. The card design was finished with some delightful Festive Pearls (NB they are called Red and Green Adhesive-Backed Pearls on the packet). A Basic White card inner had 2 thin left over strips of the same SDSP added to the sides. A Basic White C6 Envelope was stamped with one of the flowers in Cherry Cobbler ink. Just simple touches to tie the card card inner and envelope together. Thank you so much for spending time with me on my blog. I'm so glad you joined us for our first Heart of Christmas Blog Hop for 2022. We will be back every Monday until the end of November, going live at 8.00pm AEST. This is the final Stamp Review Crew blog hop for 2022 and we hope you will find loads of inspiration from the crew to finish off those festive projects! If you are happily hopping, you would have arrived here from Mike and l'm sure as always he had something fun, fabulous and creative to share!
