Meghan's maternity leave came to an end today after she arrived to proudly show off the collection created by Jigsaw, John Lewis and Partners, Marks and Spencer and her friend Misha Nonoo.
The Duchess of Sussex made an unannounced visit to the Hubb Community Kitchen this morning to see how the funds raised by Together: Our Community Cookbook are already making a difference. Last summer, a group of women gathered in a communal kitchen at the Al Manaar community centre in West London, where they could prepare fresh food for their families, friends and neighbours. As they cooked together and shared recipes, as a community they began to connect, heal and look forward. Word spread and more women joined in - this was the start of the Hubb Community Kitchen. During the launch event in September, Meghan described the project as "a labour of love". Over months of private visits and conversations, the Duchess forged a bond with the women of the Hubb. Struck by their courage, kindness and determination to rebuild their community following the horrific Grenfell Fire, Meghan knew her first solo project would involve supporting the Hubb. Earlier this month Russell Myers reported: "Meghan has struck up a “deep and personal friendship” with several women during secret visits to Hubb Community Kitchen, which helps families left destitute by the blaze. And she now “sees it as her personal duty to help the survivors” – and will help them for “as long as it takes”. A palace source said: “The Duchess has made regular private visits to the kitchen and to the women of Hubb and will continue to do so." The Duchess was warmly greeted by Hubb Community Kitchen co-coordinator Zahira Sufyaan. Zahira was one of the first people Meghan discussed the possibility of the cookbook with. Today provided the perfect opportunity to celebrate the success of the book and the journey thus far. The visit coincided with the delightful news Together has sold 40,000 copies in seven weeks in the UK alone and raised £210,000 for the Hubb kitchen. The book reached number one on Amazon.co.uk book chart within hours of being announced, and has appeared in the Sunday Times and New York Times Bestseller lists, selling tens of thousands of copies since its release. Kensington Palace added: "Since the book was published in September, the inclusive ethos of Together has resonated all over the world, and inspired people not just to buy the book, but to cook, eat and gather in their own communities." Thanks to the proceeds from Together, which was published in September, the Hubb Community Kitchen has been completely redesigned and re-fitted, with the women’s input, to capture the joyful spirit of the Hubb Community Kitchen as a place to bring the community together over food. The new facilities provide a safe and professional space for the women to cook, gather and run activities within their community. Take a look at the before... ...And after. Previously the kitchen was only able to open two days a week due to funding. The women are now able to use the kitchen seven days a week, and have been upskilled to gain food hygiene qualifications and empowered to start their own projects, which will help others in their community benefit from the kitchen. A very warm welcome for Meghan. Meghan helped prepare lunch. As always, the ladies enjoyed chatting and sharing stories whilst preparing food. More from the Mail Online: 'The Duchess of Sussex told cooks at a community kitchen of her pride in their work, as they lovingly told her that her baby will be considered their “grandchild”. Ahlam Saeid, whose family recipe of rainbow roasted vegetables Meghan helped prepare at the kitchen, told of her of her joy. After meeting Meghan the 61-year-old grandmother, who is originally from Iraq, said: “I told her this is our grandchild, we are so happy. The whole community. And she is so happy.” Meghan was also given a traditional Ugandan cloth to wrap around her stomach in the months after she gives birth. Munira Mahmud said she explained briefly to Meghan what the navy blue fabric was before she left the kitchen. She said: “Much of what we are doing is based on tradition. I thought what could be better to get her than the wrap. She was over the moon, she was really happy.” The mother-of-two, 34, is one of the women motivated by the growing kitchen project to start up a new scheme, providing new mothers with healthy, fresh and nutritious meals. She said: “I told her ‘I can’t wait to cook for you after you have the baby’. One of my projects is cooking good food for mothers after they have their babies. She added that Meghan said she would be happy to enjoy her meals.' The Duchess joined the group in the kitchen and learned about some of the planned new outreach projects, which will be funded by proceeds from Together. Supported and mentored by UnLtd, the foundation for social entrepreneurs, the women are now embarking on their own projects including a group for women affected by domestic violence, a scheme to deliver nutritious, freshly cooked meals for women on maternity wards, and a project to produce healthy treats for children. Then it was time to relax. Meghan also heard about the women’s long-term vision for the Hubb Community Kitchen, and how they hope to use future proceeds to reach out to more people in their community. The Mail Online reports Meghan introduced the women to Clare Smyth. 'Meghan, who has been making private visits to the kitchen since January, quickly abandoned any formality when she got inside. She threw her arms around each of the women and kissed them, chattering excitedly about what they had been up to since she last saw them. 'Hi, how are you? Wow, it's so quiet in here,' she said, giggling. She also introduced chef Clare Smyth, a friend of hers, to the volunteers in the kitchen. Smiling, Meghan said: 'I'm so proud of you. It's really exciting. 'The people involved in the kitchen are 'incredible', said Ms Smyth, who visited the kitchen for the first time with Meghan. The Co Antrim-born chef, who now lives in London and has a restaurant near the community facility, said: 'If everyone took care of their community like this there would be no issues in the world.' Ms Smith said Meghan had spoken with passion about the kitchen. 'She's really into food, she's a real foodie.' Clare Smyth created the menu for Harry and Meghan's wedding reception. The Hubb now prepares 200 meals in just one day, to be delivered to local groups, including elderly people’s homes, homeless shelters and women’s refuges. Meghan told the group: "It starts from one idea and from this one idea starts so much. I’m so proud of you." More from Harper's Bazzaar: 'Working on the project has been a labour of love for Meghan. Recalling the first time the women at Hubb met the Duchess, Alsaiegh, 62, says, “All the women had been busy working and cutting [the food], but she came and gave kisses to all of us and hugs to all of us. Everyone, whatever they had in their pocket or the rings they were wearing, they wanted to give it to her because they immediately felt the warmth.” In addition to the success of the book, there was one more cause for celebration during the Duchess’ visit today—her forthcoming baby with Prince Harry. The news wasn’t a complete surprise to everyone, though. Alsaiegh tells BAZAAR, “Whenever she would visit she hugged all the kids and always put the kids in her lap and sit down to hug them. She said, ‘I love kids,’ and I told her, ‘[Because of] what you did for us, Allah is going to give you the baby.’ Then my children called me [last month] like, ‘Mama, congratulations!’ and I said 'What?’ and they said ‘Meghan is pregnant!’ “We are so happy for her," Alsaiegh added. "A good heart is going to be a good mum. She loves Harry very much.” While it’s not unusual for members of the royal family to lend their time to charitable causes, the amount of time Meghan gives to the Hubb Kitchen has bowled over many at the community center, with regular private visits and countless hours spent behind the scenes ahead of the book’s September launch. “She has a good heart and the people here need this,” says Alsaiegh. “All the times she said she will come, she has. She said she’s going away for her wedding and visit[s] after one week. She came before she went [on tour]. She said, ‘I’m going to go for a long journey to New Zealand and Fiji, and then after that I’m going to come and we’re going to celebrate.” Meghan stayed 20 minutes longer than scheduled at the event. More from Richard Palmer. The Duchess looked terrific in a burgundy outfit by Club Monaco. The warm shade of the coat and dress had a very festive feel to it - a perfect choice with Christmas just around the corner. Club Monaco is one of Meghan's favourite retailers, she chooses their pieces for an array of events including Christmas morning at Sandringham last year, the van Straubenzee wedding in August and most recently the royal tour down under. The Duchess sported the burgundy Daylina Coat (with thanks to Laura). The straight fit coat features a notch lapel; double-button closure; welt pockets at the hip; single back vent and center back seam. It's described as: "A timeless piece for this season and each one to come. Made for polish and warmth." The coat is on sale in several colours reduced from $459 to $349. Heaven identified Meghan's dress as the Club Monaco Sallyet style. The $228 burgundy dress is an ideal piece for the holiday season. It features a soft velvet collar and double-button cuffs. To mark Black Friday, Club Monaco are offering 25% off orders exceeding $150 with discount code CMBLACKFRIDAY2018 Meghan teamed the look with a pair of Givenchy Ankle Boots. The slip on ankle boots feature a pointed toe, branded insole, rear pull tab and high heel. Meghan accessorised with a 'Love' ring. Hubb means love in Arabic. It turns out Meghan's ring is by British jeweller Solange. A closer look at Meghan's delicate Birks Gold Bar earrings and ponytail. It was a 'Double Duchess' day in many ways; both ladies had unannounced engagements and wore burgundy outfits and ponytails. A number of people have commented on the possibility they coordinated given the recent spate of headlines about their relationship. It certainly does seem like more than a coincidence. They both looked splendid in the festive shade. Read about Kate's engagement on Duchess Kate. It's absolutely fantastic to see the success of Together and the ripple effect one project can have on a community. The women of Hubb are delivering meals to several groups and this is just the beginning. I'm incredibly excited to see what the future holds, I have no doubt Meghan will be with them every step of the way. For those considering Christmas gifts, I cannot recommend Together enough. It's become a firm favourite in my house. It's packed with delicious recipes you will make time and time again. Proceeds will help the women of Hubb continue continue their amazing work and develop new projects. It's available at Amazon UK, Amazon US, The Book Depository (Free International Shipping) and Barnes and Noble. A very Happy Thanksgiving to all those celebrating tomorrow.
Did you see? Meghan wore a gorgeous shell pendant with her navy Oscar de la Renta top.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex concluded a packed second day of the royal tour at the British High Commissioner's Residence where they met young leaders and inspiring opinion-formers underpinning the rich and diverse nature of the UK's partnership with Africa. The day saw the Sussexes visit Monwabisi beach where they saw the work of Waves for Change and the Lunchbox Fund in action. Before leaving, they spoke briefly with the media about the tour. The Duchess said: "I think what's so amazing about being here today is you can see there's so much good happening in the world. There's so much positivity and all this inclusivity and diversity". Harry shared his excitement: "This Africa tour was always going to be fantastic, been looking forward to Cape Town — her first visit — I love this place. And again meeting the people, the energy, the fun, again the positivity, the optimism and the hope in the face of such incredible adversity. There are young people and older people, men and women trying to change what effectively has become the norm." This afternoon, they travelled to Bo Kaap to celebrate Heritage Day, they also spent time at Auwal Mosque, the oldest mosque in the country. The evening reception was very much focused on paying tribute to the achievements of young people. This is particularly important to the couple with Harry's role as Commonwealth Youth Ambassador. It was also planned to highlight UK-Africa relations. At a press briefing for the tour, private secretary Samantha Cohen noted: "The Duke and Duchess are pleased to raise awareness of the positive partnerships in advance of the UK-Africa Investment Summit in London 2020. The UK's trade with Africa is around £33 billion and between now and 2035, African nations will have to create 20 million jobs per year to keep pace with the rapidly growing population." During a speech, Prince Harry said: "Yesterday was quite remarkable in Nyanga. One of the things that stood out the most, as it does in a lot of the visits that we do around the world, especially within the Commonwealth, is the power of the youth, and what the young people are able to do… to change the conversation, to be able to stand up for the things that really matter to them. The more of us that can listen to them, and help amplify that voice and give them a platform, it will not only help them, it will also help us as well." Omid Scobie reports the couple were delighted to meet twelve-year-old Jade Bothma who started her own charity Oceano Reddentes with the mission to save the sea one piece of plastic at a time. They also met eleven-year-old Hunter Michell who brought a toy for Archie. He told the royals about his Rhino Conservation efforts. They presented Jade and Hunter with Commonwealth Points of Light Awards for their volunteer work. Jade revealed Meghan is her role model. Jade had a Cinderella moment when Prince Charming himself almost put her shoe back on. Meghan chatted to Jade Bothma who makes necklaces out of recycled plastic. ‘She said it was really cool,’ says Jade #proudgirl #youngleader #makingadifference pic.twitter.com/J7KA2qtOHD — Katie Nicholl (@katienicholl) September 24, 2019 Meghan was greeted with a hug by women's rights campaigner Marlene le Roux. More from the Mail Online: 'An anonymous guest said Meghan told of the family's flight over: 'They said it was the longest flight they have taken with Archie. She slept with one eye open - but he was very good.' Harry was greeted with a hug from Desmond Tutu's daughter, Thandeka Tutu-Gxashe. She said he is looking forward to seeing the royal couple tomorrow and said of his health: 'He is doing Ok. He is up and down. Ms Tutu-Gxashe added: 'They were saying that they were happy to be here and looking forward to meeting my father tomorrow, and hopefully they will have some time for conversation.' Fashion designer Gavin Rajah said Meghan spoke about guest editing Vogue: 'She said it was like having twins - it was a huge amount of work.' Another fantastic shot from the reception by the hugely talented James Whatling. It was another repeat for the Duchess this evening as she brought back the Martin Grant maxi dress she debuted in Australia last year. The Pleated Stripe Long Dress features a straight sleeveless neckline and full skirt with pleated detailing. We got a proper look at the statement earrings Meghan wore yesterday at this evening's reception. Thanks to the hard work of the UFO No More team, it's been confirmed they are by South African jeweller Nina Bosch. Meghan wore the Flora Leaf Earrings. More on Flora's work: 'Born and raised in a family of ceramic artists, Nina creates fine, porcelain jewellery. Drawing inspiration from geometric and organic shapes found in nature, she startedher business with the desire of finding a way tomerge surrounding together creatively. Her creations are made from porcelain where she further incorporates a variety of different materials such as glazes, pigments, 18 karat gold lustre and sterling silver. Every piece is handmade with care, given special attention to detail while embracing natural imperfections of the hand at work. Jewellery undergoes an intricate firing process which leads to different finished effects, andultimately individuality. Nina focusses on creating timeless, statement, wearable art jewellery pieces.' Meghan completed the look with black pumps. If you're just joining us, there's quite a bit to catch up on. Click here to view this morning's post covering Harry and Meghan's brief interview and engagement on Monwabisi beach (and that kiss). Meghan wore a selection of repeats including her Madewell denim jacket, J Crew Perfect shirt, Mother Denim jeans and a new Madewell bag. Click here to read this afternoon's post covering Harry and Meghan's visit to Bo Kaap for Heritage Day. Meghan wore a headscarf, an olive green Staud dress and Sam Edelman Sally flats. Tomorrow's schedule: Harry and Meghan will meet Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Mrs Tutu at their legacy foundation. From here, Harry and Meghan's programme will split, with Meghan remaining in South Africa whilst Harry travels to Botswana. In the afternoon, the Duchess will visit the Woodstock Exchange to meet female entrepreneurs and investors working in technology. Meghan will also visit Mothers2Mothers and hear about their incredible work "to create health, hope, and an HIV-free generation across the African continent". I think it's possible we'll see Archie with Meghan for her Mothers2Mothers engagement tomorrow. Before I sign off for the evening, a number of you have asked about the absence of Meghan's engagement ring on the tour. Meghan hasn't worn it nor her eternity ring thus far, instead she's wearing a turquoise Jennifer Meyer piece. There's been no official word on any particular reason. It's been suggested Meghan is keen to keep her wardrobe as low-key as possible, although that may be mere speculation. What were your highlights today? :)

Sydney is the fourth city to host the Invictus Games, after London in 2014, Orlando in 2016, and Toronto in 2017. Harry and Meghan will travel to Sydney in October for the event. It is thought the trip will be combined with a tour of Australia, New Zealand and possibly Fiji, although it is in the early stages of planning. With the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting this week, the focus is very much on strengthening ties; this morning's reception seems a very fitting way to celebrate the games which has links all over the Commonwealth. Harry and Meghan were presented with Invictus Sydney jackets by the Turnbulls. Meghan leaving the reception. Below, an excellent video from the engagement. It's a great wrap up of the morning and there's a very sweet moment where Harry calls "Meg" over to meet Invictus competitors. It's been a glorious week of sunshine in London; Meghan was perfectly attired for the gorgeous weather in the Self-Portrait Cold-Shoulder Floral-Print Midi Dress. It's wonderful to see a vibrant pop of colour in Meghan's wardrobe and a hint of what we can expect for her summer engagements. The green, black and white cold-shoulder style dress is made from floral-print crepe, it's trimmed with plissé ruffles and latticed lace inserts. It features a sweetheart neckline and a fitted bodice. It's available at Bergdorf Goodman, Harrods, Neiman Marcus, My Theresa and Nordstrom. I love the green print. A closer look. The dress also comes in a Polka Dot print as shown at Neiman Marcus. Meghan brought back the Alexander McQueen jacket and Manolo Blahnik BB pumps she wore for the Endeavour Fund Awards in February. It's interesting to see the same pieces styled for two very different events. The £1,245 McQueen Grain de poudre wool blazer is described as being "made from grain de poudre wool, this satin-lined blazer has sharp peaked lapels, structured shoulders and angular flap pockets that draw attention to the smallest part of your frame". Meghan's Manolo BB pumps remain available at Nordstrom. Perth Fashion identified Meghan's stylish new bag as the Roland Mouret Mini Classico patent leather cross-body bag. It's available in several colours at Roland Mouret. Meghan's earrings are the Cartier Galanterie Earrings (with thanks to Anne and Laura). It is very likely Meghan will join Harry for the Queen's Birthday Party at the Royal Albert Hall tonight. It begins at 8 pm and will be televised on BBC One.
