Welcome to my "little" stop on the Club Scrap Constellations Blog Hop. Miniature books made using Club Scrap Constellations papers and stamps. Miniature handmade books displayed in a matchbox. I seem to be a "little" obsessed with miniature handmade books this month! It's like I'm "seein' stars" when I think of these mini book projects. The small scale galaxy print on the Constellations 8.5x11" White Text Weight Print (CST) was ideal for wrapping the covers. The smaller images on the Constellations Unmounted Stamps worked well for decorating for the front covers and inside pages. Each mini book has its own special features. It all started when I made this mini pamphlet stitch book to fit inside the 2-1/2 x 1-1/2" matchbox I had in my stash. (If you're interested in assembly instructions, check out the link for details.) I don't want to bore you with duplicate info, so I'm going to let the pictures do the talking. I guess it just wasn't in the stars for me to create only one mini book. For book #2, I created the world's smallest spiral bound notebook complete with a tiny library card holder attached to the inside cover. Spiral binding created with needle, waxed linen thread, and wooden dowel. Last, but not least...how cute is this tiny book with a nook built inside? I even got to incorporate the Constellations theme with a tiny bottle of glitter "star dust" inside! Below, a few visuals of the mini nook book construction. Wrapped outside book cover. Nook made with matte board cut to fit inside. Wrapped book nook piece is glued to the inside back cover. I think the Nook Book may be my favorite! It looks like I have a good start on a mini matchbox library. It will be fun to make more mini books with other Club Stamp Prints to add to my collection. Talk about "light" reading!!! Ha! Next on the hop is the lovely and talented Shona at Shona Scraps. Be sure to check out what she is up to with the Constellations Kit. Thanks for looking. Kay

Matchbox Scriptures is a fun play on the traditional matchbox... but I have made mine hold a 3d scene inside when you open it! The Book of the bible, and the chapter and verse is located on the front of the box, and the full verse is located on the back of the box. This helps if you are using it a a memory tool like a scripture memory verse card. This is a digital file you can purchase and print at home for a fun 3-d scripture card craft. These are great for helping children memorize scripture and a great craft for homeschool, bible study, VBS, Children's Church, or a Sunday school class. This craft comes with a series of instructions located at the bottom of the printable. You dont have to, but this craft may hold up better printed on heavy card stock. All you need to put this craft together is: paper (card stock), scissors, ruler, and glue **YOU MUST HAVE ACCESS TO A COLOR PRINTER TO USE THIS FILE LIKE IT IS INTENDED **8.5x11 printable page ready to download right away (please send me a convo if you are having trouble with the download) **It can be printed as many times as needed, but please be respectful of copyright issues. I want to share these illustration with you for personal use only, please do not resale these images. The images were hand drawn giving it a illustration look... just like I would hand make. Colorado-based artist Arna Miller uses vintage-style packaging, advertising, and illustrations as inspiration for her goofy creations. The serious historical aesthetic and matter-of-fact text subtly ridiculous, finding humor in imagining animals experiencing human emotions, ambitions, and failures. In a statement on her website, Miller describes her guiding principles as an artist: “My aim is to create narrative illustrations that depict magical moments…I often use text to tell part of the story, but like to leave most of the narrative up to the viewer. So lately it seems I am a bit obsessed with re-purposing matchboxes into little worlds. I have also always bit a bit obsessed with fairy tales, so what a perfect match this little project has made! Outside, the tiny box displays a deep forest and title, "Little Red", giving a clue to what is inside. Another forest scene with a path and tiny Little Red Riding Hood and one Big Bad Wolf paper dolls to play with. This was very simple to make. Materials one small matchbox decorative tape paper (or photos) drawing items of choice if you choose to draw your own. Pen, marker, colored pencil, water color, etc. glue scissors ruler Steps Just measure the cover and inside dimensions of matchbox to create the inside image and cover in these same dimensions. Use printed images, magazine cut outs, photos, or draw by hand as I did on paper. 2. I used decorative tape to cover the edges, inside and out. 3. The characters measure about 2" tall and were drawn on heavy card-stock. 4. You could glue your printed images or photos to card-stock to give the paper dolls more stability. 5. For the scalloped edge I just used scalloped edge scissors, and cut a thin trim. Glue it to the top edges of the matchbox, finishing it off nicely. This makes such a sweet gift, and fun, portable little toy for someone special.

Milo is a tiny little pocket doll. He lives in a matchbox ship with his pet cockatoo. He dreams about all his wonderful adventures on the high seas, visiting foreign lands and making new friends. He is hand-stitched on to felt, slightly stuffed and sits neatly in his little matchbox home. The matchbox measures approximately 2 inches. There is a drawing of a ship on the front and an illustration of a wave on the back. All illustrations done by Paula Mills. MIlo is friends with miniature Camille: Please note this is for one doll only in one matchbox. Bon voyage!
