Peruvian Rotating Silver 950 Dual-Sided Chakana (Inca Cross). Apu Mountain Spirit & Sacred Geometry Flower with Silver/lEather 20" Necklace. Hand Cast, Inlaid, Polished & Blessed by our artisans in Sacred Valley, Cusco, Peru. Apu Symbology: The word "Apu" has several possible meanings, depending on context. Apu (A-pu) means “Lord” in Qechua. The Inka religion uses the term Apu to refer to a mountain that has a spirit that is alive. Body and energy bubble of the mountain together form his wasi (Qechua for "home" or "temple"). Ayllu Apu – protector of a village (like Apu Manuel Pinta) Llaqta Apu – protector of a region (Apu Mama Simona) Suyu Apu – protector of a country (like Apu Salkantay or Apu Ausangate) Besides mountains there are other living beings that are considered as Apus - the so-called Tekse Apus. In the Andean tradition Pachamama (Cosmic Mother), Wiraqocha (God or Cosmic Father), Father Sun (Taita Inti), Father Wind (Taita Waira), Mother Water (Mama Unu), Mother Moon (Mama Killa) and Mother Stars (Mama Ch'aska) can be seen all over the world, that is why they are called Tekse Apus, which means Global Apus. Jesus Christ and Mother Mary for the same reason are also called Tekse Apus https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Apu_(god) Chakana/Andean Cross Symbology: The chakana (or Inca Cross) is a stepped cross made up of an equal-armed cross indicating the cardinal points of the compass and a superimposed square. The square is suggested to represent the other two levels of existence. The three levels of existence are Hana Pacha (the upper world inhabited by the superior gods), Kay Pacha, (the world of our everyday existence) and Ukhu or Urin Pacha (the underworld inhabited by spirits of the dead, the ancestors, their overlords and various deities having close contact to the Earth plane). The hole through the centre of the cross is the Axis by means of which the shaman transits the cosmic vault to the other levels. It is also said to represent Cusco, the center of the Incan empire, and the Southern Cross constellation. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chakana
