These decals have great holding power against the elements. Decals may be used on indoor applications, upon removal, However, it is likely an adhesive residue will be left behind. Decals can be used on tumblers, cups, glasses & hydro flasks (hand washing only). Permanent decals are ideal for cars & trucks. *************************************************** Removable Adhesive: - Safe for Walls Ideal choice for temporary and short-term indoor decals. Removable decals are water resistant, but not fully waterproof. It is not recommended for anything that needs to be fully immersed in water to be cleaned, or for surfaces that will be constantly exposed to water. Other colors available. If you have another color in mind, please send me a message. *************************************************** These decals are printed, cut & weeded by myself. A glance over the shoulder a whisper in the mist, an echo through the trees... Spirit travelers, shamans and tricksters... As surely as his paddle slices the surface, he knows he is not alone... Poem by Wintercove Paddler in the early morning mist. Leslie Frost wilderness area, Ontario, Canada. In the fall, when the nights are cool and the water in the lakes is still warm, you get a lot of mist in the morning. On this morning it was 2 C. I convinced my wife to come paddling with me in the cold by making her coffee. This is an ancient mode of travel and we're often following the same paths that have been used for thousands of years. Have you seen the bauhaus outline trend that’s been taking off on Pinterest lately? Actually, I’m not sure if it’s just recently or if it’s been going on for some time and I had my blinkers on. Either way, ever since I noticed these clean, minimal, geometric forms cropping up in my feed (like this one!) I fell so in lo
Marquetry Woman With Dog This beautiful unique piece measures 17 x 18 x. 50 thick. There is a chip on one of the lower corners. It does not detract in any way. Otherwise in great condition showing no significant signs of wear or damage. In all the years I have been collecting Marquetry I have never seen another one like this. Based on the style I would guess this piece was made in the 1940's. less
I would like to thank all the people who are visiting my blog and I am happy to answer your question. Click in the comment box and send your questions. Floral motifs are the most dominant patterns in the Islamic decorative arts. They appear in various shapes, sizes and colours on different surfaces and media. They took various shapes through different historical eras. Are you interested in Islamic Decorative Arts? Do you like to learn how to create some simple floral patterns? Aims and Objectives: Introduce various types of Islamic decorative patterns. Create floral pattern compositions by using the repetition, reflective symmetry and rotational symmetry techniques. Paint with water colour and gold on paper and porcelain. Procedure: Stage One: Think about where you could find examples of plant or floral patterns in your life (fabrics, clothing, ... etc.). Collect several design examples with flower from magazines and newspapers. Take photographs of real flowers and leaves from the plants around you. Arrange the images you collected in a sketch book. Stage Two: Use the "reflective symmetry technique" (mirror imaging) to complete the following sketch which contains three different types of floral patterns (known as PENÇ, HATȂYȊ and GONCAGÜL). Note: Click on the images below to enlarge before printing them. Stage Three: The following compositions are drawn within emraced containers known as SHAMSA. Fill-in the gaps below by using your own floral patterns. Stage Four: A sample floral pattern is given below. Use it as a guide to draw your own composition. Stage Five: "Rotational symmetry" is a technique which can be used to create floral designs. The following sketch can be used as the basis to apply this technique. Stage Six: Colouring gives life to the bare compositions. Below are two samples of patterns painted with water colours and gold. Stage Seven: Alternatively, some natural colours can be used instead of water colours. The following is a sample design painted using coffee, tea and natural spices. All compositions that appear on this page were designed, drawn and painted by: Hadil Tamim Useful link: http://www.vam.ac.uk/page/i/islamic-middle-east/
OK, so I didn't *pick* this out myself... but rather, it was a Christmas present from one of my two brothers. Hubby and I are wondering whether or not one of our wrens will dare crawl into that nostril and build a nest. I'd LOVE that... then, any pine needles poking out would look like old man nasal hair.
I am working on this thunderbird, and my fingers are slowly falling off from sanding. The inspiration is the art of the Haida Gwai, I attached a pic. Their art is super smooth and angles and everything is perfect. Now I already gave up on the perfect angles and curves, I have no idea how to do this. My main question is how to
This spectacularly fine and detailed 18 piece flatware set was made in Jezzine, Lebanon by S & S Haddad and includes 6 of each forks, spoons and knives. The black handles are made of bone in the iconic Haddad phoenix design. Featuring brass inlaid wings with sculpted edges, with further marquetry of brass circles, plus vibrant red and blue colorful discs and a crisscross pattern of silver (potentially stainless steel). The inlay discs are likely semi-precious stones. It is difficult to authoritatively determine the age of this set, I believe it is 1960's due to the provenance and one anecdotal report I gathered during research, wherein a family member brought this identical set from Lebanon in 1967 to the states a wedding gift. S & S Haddad is a storied, epic Lebanese company with deep heritage. Founded in 1770, this family business started as a bladesmith company forging daggers and swords. You can read more about the company here: https://www.lebanontraveler.com/en/magazine/lebanon-traveler-the_art_of_cutlery_/ Makers Mark: Forks and spoons have embossed stamp on underside reading "S & A HADDAD STAINLESS STEEL". The original paperwork and cleaning instructions, in both Arabic and English, are included. Condition: Fantastic. They have minor surface wear visible in very direct sunlight and a super close-up camera lens. I did not clean these, there is some surface dust. Stainless steel is still truly stainless and in great condition. Case has barely any ware. Measurements -- Handle: about 3.33" long, and approximately 0.75" at the widest. Feels great in the hand. Fork: 7" long Spoon: 7" long Knife: 8" long Weight: *forthcoming* Case Width - 17.5” Depth - 9.25” Height - 2.25” 🫧 Everything from My Home on Mars has been professionally cleaned and restored, and ships with a care sheet specific to the material and time period of each piece. My latest woodworking project was to do a simple marquetry top for a plain wooden box I had. I've always like all of Escher's Impossible things, and thought the Penrose Triangle would be a nice, and simple project. I actually spent more time choosing the veneers to get the right shading effect, than it took me to do the cutting! I applied several coats of gloss poly on it to give it a durable finish since the box will be handled quite a bit.
Yeah, well, they conform to a genetically predetermined pattern. I can't change them
