Maridadi Kenyan Vintage Textiles come from the Maridadi West Studio founded by Dorothy Udall. Ms. Udall taught interior design at Colorado State University. In 1965 Dorothy Udall moved to Kenya so her husband could teach at the University of Nairobi. Using her talents and knowledge, she began a company to help the women in her new community. She named it Maridadi~~Swahili for "pretty" or "Fancy". Here is a set of 5 placemats three Black with orange and two Orange with black. They all have the same images of Lion, Elephant and Cheetah. while pre-owned, they are in great shape. One of the orange one has a small spot, it is indicated in the photos. I am not sure of the age.
