Hello everyone. I don’t normally do ‘fancy fold’ cards but with a bit more time on my hands I’ve been trying to step out of my crafting comfort zone a bit more. Here’s today’s card… It’s not too much of a fancy fold but makes a change from a solid card front doesn’t it? I ... Read More about Magnolia Lane Thank You

Hi! I am back with a decorated paperbag. Also this time with one of the amazing new Tildas made by the sweet and talented Pauline for Magnolia. I don't know her name yet, but I am sure we will know soon. The image is coloured with Distress Ink, re-inkers and some markers. The text are from Stempelglede. The lovely papers are from Maja Design and the Summer Crush collection. Under you see the paperbag from the side, and as usual it is manly the front that I am decorating. Here is the back: ♥♥♥ {You can also view this card in my Magnolia blog} Thank you so much for visiting my blog! Hope you like my paperbag card. With love, Camilla

Fijn weekend allemaal Liefs Margo

Hello my dear friends! I just got back from my vacation to Rome. What a lovely city. We just wondered around the little streets, ate a lot of ice cream and pizza. We also visited Vatican and St. Peter's Basilica. I was so mesmerised by that beautiful art there. So amazed by the talent they had and how they were able to build those beautiful, huge buildings with the equipment they had in those days. This trip was a our first vacation just the two of us, my hubby and me, and we decided that no crafty blogs for me and no work emails for him. So, I am a bit behind visiting you but I'll come visit you soon. One amazing thing happened here in blogland while I was in Rome. I started my blog in last August but I had followed through Youtube some crafters prior that and one of those persons is Therese. I loved here tutorials already back then she is one of those first blogists that I started to follow. I adore her cards, they are so cleverly designed and her colouring is amazing. What comes to my colouring skills, I am not trained in any way, I've just watched many tutorials from the internet and tried on my own and I believe I've seen every video Therese has made. So big thanks along many others goes to her. I saw this amazingly wonderful card in Pinterest that she had made for her mom, you can see it here. And when I went to visit her blog today and leave her a comment, I was so blown away that MY IDOL had been inspired by my colouring. What an honour Therese, thank you! And how amazingly, I also have some magnolia cards to share here today that I made for my mother and mother-in-law. :) So, today it is my turn to host Altenew blog and I share these two cards of mine and a colouring tutorial how I coloured these magnolias with Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours. Well, I don't know what it is but every time I turn on my camera and start filming, everything starts to go wrong as you can see in the video. Too much pressure I guess. After several attempts to try to put that second card together, I finished it but I still felt that something was wrong about it but I couldn't figure out what it is. Luckily I have this awesome crafting friend, we chatted and she pointed out to me what was wrong about the card. Thank you, Kelly! You are the BEST! Here are my cards: Stamps used: Magnolias for Her Stamps used: Magnolias for Her Here is the colouring tutorial if you wish to see me colour this. Supplies: Stamps: Magnolias for Her by Altenew Inks: Victorian Velvet Distress Ink Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours: No.20, 34, 44, 46, 53 and 61. Welcome to my blog! It's been a while since I've tried any fancy folds, but I was inspired by the beautiful cards my team members created for our recent card swap. Off to Pinterest to see what I could find! What I came up with was this Interlocking Gatefold Card by Dawn Griffith. I LOVE this fold - I have so many ideas for ways to use it. I love how this card looks and how easy it is to make! The base is Petal Pink, cut 8-1/2 x 5-1/2 (1/2 sheet of cardstock). Score the long edge at 2-1/8" and fold. Take the other side and fold it in so the edges meet perfectly in the middle and crease with your bone folder. The oval ring is cut using the largest of the Layering Ovals Framelits, skip the next size, then use the third size to cut the inside. The stamped oval is cut with the same die. The magnolia is colored with Petal Pink & Mossy Meadow blends, leaving the tips of the petals white. I brushed the petals with Clear Wink of Stella to make them shimmer. The card inside is Whisper White cut to 4" x 5-1/4". The 2 Whisper White panels on the front are 2" x 5-3/8" and the designer paper is 1-7/8" x 5-1/4". This is an easy card to mass produce. I think it looks beautiful with any "scripty" font. Not sure if that's a word, but it should be :-) Wouldn't this make a gorgeous invitation for a wedding shower? It is serendipity how challenges work together sometimes. This card was started in my mind with the CASual Fridays Challenge to use both Flowers & Chevrons. I had a Cuttlebug embossing folder and Memory Box die out on my desk, but hadn't found the time to put together a card yet. Yesterday Cath posted the new Tuesday Trigger: Magical Magnolias at Moxie Fab World and Arielle posted this week's Colour Q Challenge which inspired me to get this card done. Now, I realize my flower die is not the same as the Magnolia blossoms on the tree, but they both have a very soft, feminine feel, so I went with it :) I used the debossed side of the main panel, colored my flowers and pearls with the same copic marker and finished it off with one of my oldest wood mount stamps and favorite sentiments. In real life the pearls & flowers are the same color - the pearls are looking a little peachy to me here & I'm not sure why? Since Simon Says . . . April Showers and Spring Flowers this week, I am also linking this up to the Simon Says Stamp Challenge Blog. ETA: I've had a couple of questions about the embossing folder - it is a Cuttlebug folder from Provo Craft called "Charles" that also comes with a single chevron border embossing folder. Thanks for stopping by, Jacquie
