Two young adult stories from Madeleine L’Engle’s personal library, by way of Julia Cunningham. Dear Rat, an uncommon book written in the style of Stuart Little features Madeleine L’Engle’s signature, noting it was given to her by Cunningham. The other, a medieval fantasy set in the early middle ages is inscribed to her by Julia Cunningham as "Judy" (and in her handwriting). Both are in very good condition with some light dust to the top edges of the paper. Dear Rat has an ever so slight bend to the boards. See pictures for a closer look! Deweydecimals has recently acquired a collection of books from Madeleine L’Engle’s personal library. Feel free to send a message if you might be interested in hearing more about other books available and check out the Madeleine L’Engle section. A portion of the proceeds from this purchase is being donated to The Madeleine L’Engle Travel Research Fellowship Fund at Smith College.

A globular stoneware vase with 8 rows of big and small holes emanating from the centre. Decorated in a very impressionistc or abstract style with vibrant use of at least 5 colours, some flowing towards the bottom. This will fight your flowers for supremacy - and that's not a bad thing! Thinking outside the box, could hold pens and the like! Impressed on the base clearly is Wolfscastle, and St Davids, where Philip (sadly deceased) and Madeleine Cunningham set up in 1973. Paul webb is now also invlved. Madeleine uses chinese techniques in her decoration, so big bold brush strokes, and bold colours. Condition: No obvious damage around the rim. Probably never been used for its intended purpose - excellent condition. PLEASE REMEMBER - that all the vintage items you are viewing are not new and will not be in an unused condition. Each may contain minor flaws and show some signs of use and wear commensurate with age. Any major flaws or damage will be highlighted in the online description or in the photos, so please check before purchase. Postage I aim to post all items within 72 hours. I'm aiming to recycle packaging, especially boxes and bubble wrap when sending out items to minimise waste. All items will be well packed and protected to survive the rigors of transit. Multiple orders will be packed together, where possible, and I'll adjust postage, if any, to reflect this.
