Make sure the milk is lukewarm and not hot. Let this sit for 10 minutes till the yeast is activated. Add the flour and salt to the yeast mixture and knead till everything is well combined and forms a sticky dough. Now add the butter and continue kneading till the butter is completely incorporated and it forms a soft non-sticky dough. Cover the dough and let it rest in a warm place for an hour. The dough will double in volume after resting. Punch the dough and knead it again for a couple of minutes. Divide it into 12 equal portions. Shape each portion into a smooth ball and place it in a baking dish greased with butter. Cover the dough balls and let them rest for about half an hour. Preheat oven to 180°C. Brush the surface of the balls with milk and bake at 180°C for 30 minutes. Brush the surface of the pavs with some butter as soon as they are out of the oven.
