This used Shell Veiner stamp was made by Craftool Company prior to 1963. The tool is number 707. This Veiner stamp is a great example of why many serious leather stampers prefer these vintage tools. The crispness and precision of this hand ground tool is beautiful and it is a tool you would be proud to own. This tool measures 1/2" from corner to corner and 1/8" in height. These old tools do not come available very often, so don't miss your chance to add a great tool to your collection. It still has many miles left in it. Please note, we may have multiple copies of this item. There will be differences in each one. Those differences could include the placement of the number or name, condition of the chrome plating, wear patterns from the previous owner and other things that make each tool unique. The important part, the stamp impression, will be as close to the example as possible, allowing for the differences found in hand ground tools. Craftool Company was one of the oldest and best known leather stamping tool manufacturer in the USA. Their tools were hand ground and hand finished for decades by trained craftsmen. The older tools made prior to the early 1960's were marked with only a number. For a while after the letter prefix was added, the stamps continued to be marked Craftool Co. Later on they began marking them Craftool Co. USA and then Craftool USA. The factories where these were once made no longer exists and thus these older Craftools have become highly collectible, not just because they are no longer made, but because they work. In fact, there is probably more leatherwork being done today with these old tools than any other brand available.

Been searching for a while for a stitching clamp. Finally came across someone in France, a craftsman who specialise in making tools mainly for leather works. And, have to say, this is probably one of the finest piece of stitching clamp that we have came across. Beautiful workmanship, loves how the curved hinge is done. Wholly crafted from a single piece of French wood which mainly used for wooden tools. Initially, was thinking not to wrap the clamp mouth, as everyone here loves the grains around the tip of the mouth, but, there's just not enough friction to hold the item or it'll leaves a clamp mark if were to clamped a little too tight… Thus we were left with no choice but to wrap it, although we felt it deserve a little more than just a piece of raw hide.
