Galatians 5:14
In 2 Samuel, we see an inspiring story of the kindness of David to Mephibosheth, the crippled son of Jonathan (2 Samuel 9). It tells me at least three things about the nature of kindness: 1. Kindness is a reflection of God In 2 Samuel 9:3, David asked: “Is there no one still left in […]

Galatians 5:14
Bernard of Clairvaux (1090-1153) "cuts through all our ego-strutting activity and calls us again to love God in purity of heart, in sincerity of soul, and in holiness of life."
This is a Sunday school lesson about the second greatest commandment to love your neighbor as yourself. The lesson will have children reading aloud Bible Lesson Plans for Kids "Love Your Neighbor" Sunday School Lesson (Mark 12:28-34 and Matthew 22:39)
Preschool Bible lesson on Luke 10:25-37, Jesus taught a parable to show that any person who is in need is our neighbour. The parable of the Good Samaritan reminds us of the second greatest commandment, “love your neighbour as yourself.” (Matthew 22:34-40).
Jesus told us that the greatest commandment is to love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength. And the second greatest commandment is love your neighbour as yourself. Here are some suggestions as to how that looks like in daily life. 1. Start your day with God. Years ago I read that the daily habit of Billy Graham was to read a chapter of the Old Testament, a chapter from the New Testament, a Psalm and one chapter of Proverbs every day. I thought, if it works for Billy Graham, I need to give it a try. That was over forty years ago. Starting my day reading God’s word, has been one of the best decisions and habits that I have. I still marvel at how God speaks to me daily through His word. I love how the Psalms show me the true emotions and hearts of those ancient songwriters. I love how reading the Proverbs gives me daily wisdom on living a balanced life. I love how reading the New Testament reveals Jesus and the great men and woman that followed Him. Starting your day with God is one of the best decisions you will ever make. 2. Put God first in your finances The third chapter of Proverbs is my favourite of the thirty-one chapters of Proverbs. It is full of great advice. Proverbs 3:9 (NLT) Honor the Lord with your wealth and with the best part of everything you produce. Then He will fill your barns with grain, and your vats will overflow with good wine. Throughout the Bible it talks about the blessing of giving to God. Are you giving back a portion of the best of what God has given you? Honour God with your finances. It is a valuable discipline and will reap great rewards in your life. 3. Put God first in your family Are you honouring God in your family? Do you pray regularly as a family? Do you attend church weekly as a family? Are you taking a day off each week? Do you honour God in your conversations around the dinner table? Are you loving and honouring your spouse like God wants you to? What kind of media are you allowing in your house? Is it honouring to God? Family is so important! Your marriage is the foundation of your family. Love your spouse, love your kids and honour your parents. You will reap spiritual benefits that will last generations! Question: What areas is God speaking to you about putting Him first in your life? Check out my new book.. “Leading Worship ~ Notes from a Grand Adventure’ available in Kindle or Soft Cover Editions. This is a great gift for the musician or worshipper in your life.

9781953759207. New condition. Hard cover. Language: English. Pages: 118. Sewn binding. Cloth over boards. 118 p. Jesus was asked in St. Matthew 22, \"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the law?\" He replied with two, \"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself. All the Law and Prophets hang on these two commandments.\" (St. Matthew 22:36-40). The Christian community celebrated that Jesus reduced 613 commandments found in the Old Testament to only two under the New Covenant. As I meditated on this, I realized that we were missing something, and while loving God, and loving people may seem straight-forward enough, it was not quite evident in the lifestyles of many Christians. While we get some part right, in other areas we were not doing so well. The Words of Jesus kept resonating in my soul, \"If you love Me, you will keep My commandments.\" (St. John 14:15 - ESV). The part I think we missed is, \"All the law and prophets hang...\" I went on a personal retreat to revisit the New Testament and extract everything that would look like a command from Jesus. I numbered them as I went along, and was very surprised to see that when this journey ended, the number was 613 -- the exact number of commands given in the Old Testament. I knew then that this book had to be released.
