Let's just get to the Winner first. I am sitting here having breakfast with son #2 and he chose our random winner this morning :) So.... Tracey from Ontario, please email me your mailing address and your Echo Park Collection choice and they will get your prize on it's way to you. Congrats!!! Tracey said... This is just gorgeous!! Love it!! 9:06 AM Now so for some fun Echo Park inspiration! Are you ready for candy, pumpkins, tricks and treats? I know my family is always ready for anything that requires costumes and treats! This "Chillingsworth Manor" collection from Echo Park is one if my fave treats for sure. I scrapped this photo of my son's pumpkin carving skills, using alot of the awesome papers, tags, and stickers. The awesome thick grey and white bakers twine is from May Arts. I also used a hem stitch here and there to sort of add a bit of embellishment, because I thought it looked kind of spikey - so lets discuss stitching on layouts. I know you guys have questions and maybe you are hesitant to give it a try. You know I am addicted to stitching, so I shared some helpful tips on the Echo Park Blog today to help you guys out. (CHECK IT OUT HERE) Let me know what you think. Have you tried it? How did it go? Are you hooked now too :)

I finished Week 12 last Sunday, but only got a chance today to take some pictures of it in daylight (not much of that, either, but it will do.. :)). This was a fun week to put together. Since both I and DH were out of town (separately) for most of the week, I was expecting not to have that many pictures, but in fact I ended up having a ton of pictures! I brought my point-and-shoot with me, and DH took pictures on his phone. To save time and go with the travel theme, I used a lot of maps from my trip as background. I love the look! Other than maps, I just used the grid journaling cards and stamped dates. I cut them and used other smaller pieces for journaling. I love the look! The photo templates by Designs by Lili came in really handy to fit in all my photos this week. Here are some detail shots. I was in California and I loved the spring blooms! For the days I was back home (Sat. & Sun.) I didn't use the maps as backgrounds. Well, that's that. I still am {one + current} weeks behind, and unfortunately I have work I need to get done this weekend, but it should be fine. I'm not that behind. :) Supplies: 4x6 Photo Collages , 4x6 Photo Collages no. 2 and 3x4 Photo Collages by Designs by Lili 12 sticker from Dear Lizzy Neapolitan collection See and Stamp alpha stamps Washi tape Studio Calico stamps Smash date stamp K&Ccompany
There are so many different ways that you can create a gallery wall, and depending on what vibe you’re going for, it’ll be a little like putting together a puzzle. Recently, I did a gallery wall in my home office, and really wanted more of an eclectic and less structured feel to it. However, I...Read More
One of the best parts of being a maker is sharing your projects with others. So here's a DIY way to spread your DIY ideas by printing a one-page book by hand.
As you probably know, I love art. One of my favorite ways to display art in our house is with a gallery wall. Today I'll be sharing some fun ideas for your next gallery wall. You can use any of the above ideas to create a really unique wall of art in any room. Here are some more fun tips that I use when assembling my own gallery walls. #1. Mix & Match. In my Office Gallery Wall I mixed a sailboat print, weird-foreign-maps, small mirrors, and some of my favorite photographs that I had printed in black and white. The majority of this wall was sourced straight from thrift stores. It doesn't need to be expensive to look great. #2. Have fun mixing different sizes and shapes. If you want to mix and match, go for it. Pick 2-3 sizes/shapes and repeat them throughout the gallery wall. This makes it more pleasing to the eye. Or you can just use all totally unique items. I'm actually loving that idea more and more as time goes on, and am already thinking about my next gallery wall. #3. Draw a line. Here is a drawing I made of the office gallery wall to help you see what I'm referring to. See the line? Decide on a 'line' for your gallery wall. It can be vertical or horizontal, and you can place it anywhere. You can also use multiple lines, kind of like a grid. Use the line/lines to anchor your frames. You can see more about this here. #3. Make it symmetrical Create a gallery wall using a series of similar art, slightly varied. I created a gallery wall like this in my living room using botanical prints (found on eBay) and dollar store frames (spray-painted gold). You can see more pics of this gallery wall here. #4. Keep it simple. I kept it pretty simple when I created the Bird Art gallery wall in our guest bathroom. I printed out black silhouette birds on our printer and framed it in simple white frames. #5. Get reflective. Use mirrors. If you're running low on art, no prob. Throw an interesting mirror (or two) in the mix! I did this with our Mirror Gallery Wall in our guest bedroom. I hope I've left you with some great ideas for creating a gallery wall of your own! Thanks so much for stopping by! For more tips on all things art, go here or here.
