Para muitos, festa à fantasia sem tema não tem a menor graça – vira apenas um monte de gente fantasiada aleatoriamente. É preciso ter um tema para ajustar
Here is an amazing photo collection that shows everyday life of circus performers at the backstage from between the 1920s and 1930s.
Here are two makeups inspired from our dark circus concept. Love the white skin, the bring colours and the fake eyelashes. -Daphne Blaszkewycz
[Explored - up to #98 and looks like it finished at #127. Thanks to all who had a look!!] Across the Seam between the Ages in the Multiverse has come this way in the form of Victorian era Autochromes. These are quite unexpected as Your Humble Servant has not seen Autochromes from other Ages, until now. This style of colored images were popular during the late 1800's and early 1900's in this, our present Age. ------ Photography - C'est moi Model - Irish Heather Collins Model - Ivy Slime Photographers Assistant - Judith Turano [Strobist Info - AB1600 thru softbox far camera right. As a huge fan of musicals, I had to recreate the iconic look of Sally Bowles. I have mentioned it a couple of times before, while writing about the history of make-up, that one of my favourite eras are the Roaring Twenties. I have studied it as a part of my faculty course, and I got into it even more, while researching the books from that period. From fashion, to the culture in general. I love musicals the most for two main reasons, music and make-up. It's the combination of the two things I adore. I can sing the songs as well as recreate the make up. It's the mixture of theatrical fashion, make-up, music, dance. Everything I enjoy. Indeed, there is something special about musicals that I find so attractive and connected to my personality. Sally Bowles is a charming, beautiful lady, eccentric, and to a degree, pretentious. But she is also innocent and childlike. That appeal is something I can relate to. Liza Minnelli is certainly the best performer of that role. She performed the role of her lifetime, making the character recognizable by her own style and iconic look. I tried to make everything as similar as possible. I didn't want to change my face shape or something like that, but adapt it. I wanted it to look as natural as possible, but still representative of that look. I find it the most challenging thing. You can draw on your face, make drag queen looks, and look like somebody else. The truth is, I hate that. I appreciate when someone recreates iconic looks by adapting it to the face, making it look real and natural as possible. Hugs and kisses Angelica
Diane Arbus was a wonderful photographer known for her informal portraits - mostly of misfits, from the late-1940s onwards. These are the highest resolution Arbus scans that I could find online but I can't trace the original scanners. :(

OK, I'll be honest - I haven't actually seen this film fully. When it comes to musicals, unless it has Tim Curry in fishnets or John Belushi wearing sunglasses and a black tie, I am generally not really into them. So apologies if the look isn't a complete doppelganger to Ms Minnelli. Here is a quick tutorial based on the classic Cabaret look. The first Cabaret opened up in the late 19th Century but became big in America between 1920s-1940s, heavily jazz orientated (with the likes of Peggy Lee and Nina Simone making guest appearances). The makeup here basically focuses on making your eyes and mouth stand out above all your other features - so it is important to start off with a clear base so use a good coverage foundation. The eye makeup is somewhat linked to a 1920s flapper look - but it uses more bright colours than ashy colours. So you want to keep the eyes well defined and bright at the same time. False lashes (both top and bottom) are almost a must for this look... and you preferably want them to be long and spiky as this will help to give your eyes a further 'pop'. INSPIRATIONAL PICTURES PRODUCTS USED Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation MAC eyeshadow (Gesso) Revlon Colorstay Quad (Azure Mist) Bobbi Brown Gel Liner (Black Ink) Maybelline The Falsies Mascara False Lashes (for top and bottom) - doesn't matter which you choose but the spikier the better.
