Solares Franz Tamayo ( La Paz , 28 de fevereiro de 1879 - ibidem , 29 de julho de 1956 ) foi um poeta , político e intelectual boliviano, considerado uma das figuras centrais da literatura boliviana do século XX. 1 2 Franz Tamayo era o filho mais velho de Felicidad Solares, uma mulher de sangue indígena , e Isaac Tamayo Sanjinez, um político de La Paz que serviu como deputado, diplomata e ministro de Estado. 3 De família rica, ele viveu parte de seus primeiros anos nas fazendas de seu pai e no exterior. Embora tenha passado alguns meses nas salas de aula do Colégio Nacional Ayacucho, recebeu educação principalmente privada nas áreas de humanidades, piano , alemão , latim e francês, entre outras disciplinas. 2 4 Seu pai foi nomeado representante diplomático no Brasil , e após a revolução federalA partir de 1899, ele se estabeleceu com sua família na Europa . Tamayo voltou para a Bolívia em 1904, mas deixou o país novamente em 1908 para estudar na Sorbonne . 2 Em Londres , ele conheceu e se casou com a francesa Blanca Bouyon. Ao longo de sua carreira política, foi um severo crítico dos dirigentes Ismael Montes , Bautista Saavedra e Hernando Siles . 7 Sua ideologia política e a de seu partido refletiram-se em vários artigos publicados no El Diario . Em 1915 fundou um novo jornal, El Fígaro , e em 1917, El Hombre Libre , que editou. Desde o início Tamayo fez uma crítica contínua às figuras do poder, tanto do parlamento como da imprensa. O poeta, ao centro, com Félix Avelino Aramayo e Florián Zambrana, os três representantes bolivianos na Liga das Nações em 1920 No entanto, ele serviu como representante boliviano perante a Liga das Nações em 1921, para propor a revisão do tratado de 1904 com o Chile . Tamayo não defendeu sua condição de presidente eleito; considerou que, com a queda do governo de Salamanca, sua vitória nas eleições foi anulada. Após a anulação das eleições, houve vandalismo contra algumas propriedades de Tamayo, eventos que influenciaram sua saída da vida pública e política por 10 anos. 10 Em dezembro de 1943, a loja militar Razón de Patria e o Movimento Nacionalista Revolucionário lideraram um golpe contra Enrique Peñaranda , impondo Gualberto Villarroel como presidente de fato.
