My initial visit to London was over 12 years ago when I was fresh out of my first year of college and my dad took me on a whirlwind European adventure. But this wasn't just any trip, he had me follow in his and my mom's footsteps from when they went backpacking through Europe before I was born, visiting a lot of the same places they went to. After traveling through Italy and France, My Dad and I finally made it to London where we would be ending our trip. We were a bit tired from almost three weeks of travel but we did some incredible things like going to see a play at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre. We were experts at making our dollar stretch and traveled like most college students would, staying in hostels, getting discount tickets to performances and taking trains versus flying from country to country. It was such an amazing experience. With all that said, I left London feeling like I didn't really get to see the magical sides of her. So going back with my husband, who is the ultimate planner and foodie (as you can see from our previous travels to Barcelona, Italy & France, Puglia) was bound to be an eye opener. And rest assured, London really swept me off my feet on this trip. FLORAL SPOTLIGHT First and foremost, being the flower lover that I am, I was pleasantly surprised to find out that London is known for their absolutely stunning flower installations. Seeing the floral installations, that were in my eyes quite brilliant living sculptures, adorn many of the boutique shop entrances created a bond between me and England that will never be broken. Did I mention flowers are the way to my heart?! This door instinctively reminded me of the blue door house in the film, Notting Hill - which if you haven't seen, please remedy that asap! It's a perfectly whimsical movie to bring your spirits up during COVID-19. Which of course Jon and I went to visit the Notting Hill borough on this trip. The above floral installment is one of the social media stars, famous for it's wonderfully pink exterior, overly abundant floral touches and extravagant desserts. If you plan on visiting Peggy Porschen Cakes while in London, get there early, the line starts to form before they open their doors. If you don't make it before the line has stretched around the block, make sure your phone is fully charged so you have something to do while you wait, or bring a book to read. BRING ON THE COFFEE The amount of coffee shops that are perfectly sprinkled throughout greater London is a caffeine lovers dream. We were only in the city for about three days so we averaged about two coffee spots a day while going back to our favorites of course. Anymore caffeine would have shocked my system I'm afraid but next time I'll get my tolerance up so we can get to at least three to four a day... kidding, or am I? 😉 We stayed at the gorgeous Marylebone Hotel in London which was right down the street from Monocle Coffee. Lucky for us because Monocle turned out to be my absolute favorite coffee shop in London and we went daily. Above shows a glimpse of the lobby as you enter into Marylebone Hotel as well as a beautiful lounge area for guests that is decorated with modern art and plush velvet chairs and sofas. The design of the Marylebone Hotel was a wonderful mixture of modern and classic. Just my style. Monocle is easily spotted by their cute striped awning. It looks as if it is just waiting to get its picture taken, doesn't it? You better believe we played full tourist and shot tons of photos in front of this picturesque coffee shop. I indulged in a Swedish Bun (pictured above) on every visit because: vacation. I definitely recommend bringing along your favorite book and cozying up at one of the outside tables to enjoy your visit to Monocle. Coincidentally I was deep in the throws of a novel written by an English author, Jojo Moyes. I highly recommend her books if you like to get lost in another world, she keeps her stories adventurous and light hearted with witty writing and a touch of humor but never gets too heavy. Exactly what I look for when reading for fun. Here are a list of Coffee Shops I recommend: LONDON COFFEE Monocle - our favorite coffee spot, 18 Chiltern St, Marylebone, London Monmouth - strong coffee just FYI, 27 Monmouth St, London Minnow - coffee, brunch, lunch, din, 21 The Pavement, London Paper & Cup - just the cutest, 18 Calvert Ave, Hackney, London White Mulberries - coffee with a view of the water, St Katharine Docks, London There are soooo many more coffee shops but these were our top 5 TEA TIME AT SKETCH My next suggestion may be known to many but it deserves the spotlight. Tea time at Sketch London. It was a dream destination for me being that it is super artsy and encompasses my core color palette of pink. Every detail about Sketch is thoughtfully planned out and they delightfully don't stay within the lines. You'll see what I mean when you look at the pictures of their bathrooms below. You may think you're going to set off into outer space when you step into the egg shaped pods but have no fear, each pod is its own bathroom. Tea time at Sketch is way more than your average tea time. The walls are filled with modern art, the staff look like they've just stepped out of a print ad in head to toe Gucci and they have live classical music that fills the air. The best comparison would be: Alice in Wonderland and I mean that as the highest compliment. Full transparency, it is on the pricier side when it comes to traditional tea times so if you don't think it's your thing, I wouldn't make it a must on your travel itinerary. If it is your thing, definitely make a reservation. Oh and go hungry because they give you TONS of yummy and beautiful tea time cakes and sandwiches. In my opinion the experience was worth every penny. Now, on to food! We ate SO MUCH GOOD FOOD. In other words, the old fable that England isn't known for their food scene is totally outdated because let me tell you, we are foodies and we were not disappointed. FARM GIRL For a healthy brunch we loved Farm girl. It's in the heart of Notting Hill so I recommend taking a stroll through their colorful streets, snap a bunch of photos because that neighborhood is the definition of photogenic and after you've walked around enough to work up an appetite, head over to Farm Girl at 59A Portobello Rd. Jon and I were both surprised that our favorite thing was the oat latte that we each got. FYI Farm Girl is a 'healthy' food spot. I always try to include healthier places in the itinerary since we need to balance out all the heavier meals, right? You'll still leaving feeling satisfied and with a full tummy though so don't over think it! Now, after brunch head to one of the beautiful gardens within London, read a book, play a game of travel scrabble, give your digestion system a break and then head to... DARJEELING EXPRESS Definitely one of our tastiest meals in London. You may know Darjeeling Express from their Netflix episode on Chef's Table. If you haven't watched it, this is another show you should add to your COVID-19 Watch List. It's super inspiring and both Jon and I love knowing as much as we can about the history of a restaurant before we dine there. It definitely makes us appreciate the food and culture and makes for a memorable experience. Also, you can see from the above picture, the interior of Darjeeling Express is beautiful! I loved the hanging plants and globe lights as well as the gorgeous pastel blue accent color that you see in the tile and on some of the walls. Below you'll see our top three dishes that we loved the most: Channa Chaat Chilli Garlic Prawns Kalonji Paneer Curry Thinking about those dishes literally makes my mouth water. Definitely a foodie place. HIGHLY recommend making a reservation if you want to eat here. It's in demand and normally you have to book well in advance (4-6 weeks). If you aren't planning to travel to London anytime soon, lucky for you, Asma Kahn (the founder of Darjeeling Express) just released her first cookbook! After you've walked off, or napped off your Indian lunch, it's time to head to dinner at... LYLE'S What a delight this dinner was. It's in a really cool area of London called Shoreditch and from what we were told this area has gone through an artistic rebirth. Apparently it used to be more rundown but from what we could tell it's in its prime. A lively neighborhood with tons of restaurants, bars, hotels, cafes. The interior has more of an industrial style while still feeling warm and welcoming thanks to the open kitchen (love being able to see the chefs work their magic) and the beautifully golden brown tables and chairs. Lyle's does a pre-fixed menu for dinner and we we're in love with our meal. The portion of each entrée was just right. We went from one to the next feeling satisfied by the incredible flavors but not feeling stuffed. See our menu below for the delicious meal that we indulged in and some snaps of our actual meal. Jon did the wine pairing and he was a fan. On that note, orange wine was immensely popular when we were in Europe last year. Everywhere we went it was on the menu. COCKTAIL HOUR London is known for their pubs but they also have an incredible cocktail and wine scene. Even though I'm not much of a drinker, I still like going along to cocktail hour and getting a mocktail. Here are three places that we were very much in love with. LYANESS - Cocktail Bar This ultra stylish cocktail bar sits on the River Thames within the hotel, Sea Containers London. It's monochromatic blue interior is another perfectly picturesque interior that you most definitely should document and their cocktail menu was very impressive. P. FRANCO P. Franco is a natural wine bar north of central London. We took a double decker bus instead of an Uber so we could sit on the top deck and see the city as we made our way. We got there in the early afternoon on a Friday and it was already pretty packed. After about 20 minutes we got a seat by the window and while putting in Jon's wine order we also put in an order for the bread, which came out hot and an incredible pasta dish that was part of their daily special. It was so good we didn't have time to take pictures and we even ordered both again for a second helping. To see some photos of the food at P. Franco's I found this article where they are featured. P. Franco was definitely the most down to earth place we went to in London and it was delightful. The exterior is still up from the previous owners and when we entered we felt like we had stumbled upon a place that you only hear about from a friend of a friend (which was the case with us!). You could tell this was a local spot and very beloved by the neighborhood. If we lived in London we would be regulars in no time. CHILTERN FIREHOUSE This place is the exact opposite of P. Franco but we still loved it. Chiltern Firehouse gives off an exclusive, 'members only' vibe something that I roll my eyes at but I also had fun with. We got dressed up and met a friend for drinks and we had a great time. We also had brunch here one morning and it was very yummy. You aren't allowed to take pictures inside so I snapped a few outside from our cocktail evening and LBH, Chiltern Firehouse is stunning! BESIDES EATING VICTORIA & ALBERT MUSEUM If you're looking for something to do besides eat and drink, beautiful gardens and museums are a plenty in London. We went to the Victoria & Albert Museum for the Christian Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibition. They had rooms upon rooms filled with Dior gowns from the beginning of his career to the end. It was so whimsical and inspiring. The care and attention that Christian Dior put into his work is something to be marveled at. He seemed to never compromise on the integrity of his vision when you're with them in person, each piece truly takes your breath away. We spent hours at the Victoria and Albert Museum and left with a new appreciation for Christian Dior, and all high end designers. All in all there is no shortage of exciting things to do in London and I can not wait to go back! During COVID-19 I've spent a lot of time reflecting on all the things I took for granted in life. The world will be a different place once this virus is handled and I think it will be a better place. I can see a world where kids are excited to go to school, men and women look forward to heading into the office, concerts and festivals will sell out, the arts will be supported and admired more than ever and we will all cherish our in-person moments together like never before. Start planning your future travels while you have this extra time on your hands! 💛 XOXO, Katie

Although I’ve done shoulder and pec tattoos countless times, the intimacy of this position sends a shiver through my body. Longing grips me hard and fierce, and I scramble to regain some semblance of control. Maybe a little conversation. “So, did you catch your bad guy?” “No. Still after him.” When I look up, Ray is watching me. He is so close I can see the stubble of his five o’clock shadow, the thickness of his lashes, his eyes deepening to an azure blue. I force myself to look into them and swallow hard. “Everything okay?” Apparently not. Jaw tight, muscles quivering, he captures me with his glance. “Your hair.” I give my head a slight shake and my ponytail swings back and forth. “What’s wrong with my hair?” “Take it down.” He fingers a loose tendril beside my ear, his authoritative tone sending a wave of heat raging through me. “I keep it up so it’s out of the way.” “Down.” “I’ll have to take off my gloves first, and then I’ll have to…” My words die in my throat when he strokes his hand over my hair, front to back. With one sharp jerk, he tugs out my ponytail holder and my hair tumbles around my shoulders. “Beautiful.” Trembling, painfully and desperately aroused, I pick up the razor and shaving gel from my tray. “I…have to shave you.” My voice drops to a throaty whisper, and if that doesn’t tell him what he does to me, nothing will. Another curt nod. But then he’s not a talkative type. I’ve never seen him hanging out with the other fighters after the gym closes for the night, and not once has he ever joined us for drinks after a fight. Taking a deep breath, I steady my hand, then smooth the gel over his skin. But when I dip the razor, Ray tenses, his fist clenching and unclenching beside my hip. A smile tugs at the corner of my lips. “Don’t worry. I’ve never cut anyone. I’ll be gentle.” “Man lives the life I’ve lived, he’s not used to gentle.” Tilting my head to the side, I meet his gaze. “You never had anyone be gentle with you?” “I usually scare the gentle ones away.” “I can’t imagine why.” My hand relaxes and I stroke the razor across his skin. Stroke and dip. Stroke and dip. The rhythmic movement calms my fraught nerves, but with every touch, tension builds between us until it is almost a living, palpable thing. “You’re not so scary.” I tease the blade around his nipple and Ray sucks in a sharp breath. “Sia—” He chokes off his words so I continue talking, keeping my voice low and even, soothing the savage beast trapped in my chair. “I have to admit, in the ring, you’re pretty terrifying. You have so much power and yet you keep it so tightly leashed. But when you let it go”—I look up and my cheeks heat—“I think it’s thrilling. But you keep it in control. You never go too far. That’s where I see the beauty.” Ray stares at me as if entranced, heaving his breaths, his gaze focused, intent. Even when Slim walks past to grab some supplies and then heads back to the private rooms, Ray doesn’t take his eyes off me. “Slim ink the butterfly too?” He leans forward and lightly touches the butterfly tat on my shoulder. I yank the razor away in case he becomes my first ever casualty. “Yeah he did. I have one on the other shoulder too. Slim’s a real master. When he was finished with the roses and thorns, I felt like something was missing. I wanted hope and freedom. And yellow, because it’s my favorite color. He came up with the butterflies.” “Would have thought black was your favorite color.” He gestures to my clothes. “You always wear black.” “Yellow is my secret favorite color.” I give him a half smile. “Not many people know.” Ray gives a grunt of satisfaction, and I feel a little tingle at the thought that I’ve pleased him. He traces the outline of the little butterfly and pleasure ripples through my body. “Looks just like a butterfly I caught when I was a kid. I watched it for hours. Learned a hard lesson that day. I wanted to touch it and I was too rough. Must’ve broken its wing. When I let it go, it couldn’t fly.” “You can touch me. I won’t break.” His jaw tightens, and I curse myself for being so flippant about what was probably an upsetting moment in his childhood. What the hell is wrong with me? He shares an actual piece of personal information and I show no sympathy at all. Not only that, but now I’m begging for his attention. After a few more strokes with the blade, I wash him off, then I spritz him with disinfectant. In my zeal, I spray not only the area to be inked, but the rest of his torso as well. Damn klutz side strikes again. “Sorry. Forgot to reduce the nozzle.” Grabbing a sterile cloth, I dry his chest then work my way over his rippled abdomen. His muscles quiver beneath my touch as I pat along the soft, dusky trail of hair, following it down to his belt. Imagining where it might go. He tenses when I near his buckle and gives a strangled grunt. “S’good.” My gaze drifts below his belt, to the bulge in his jeans. He is fully erect, his shaft straining against his fly. A naughty thrill of excitement shoots through my veins. He’s aroused because of me. “Um…do you want to take a break before I apply the stencil?” He shakes his head, then leans forward and sweeps his hand through my hair, letting the strands slide through his fingers. A sigh escapes my lips as delicious sensations sweep through my body. I am on fire. And although I’ve been with men before, I’ve never been immobilized by a single touch. “So soft.” He runs his hand over my hair again, this time trailing his fingers along my shoulder. His thumb glides over my throat and he curls his hand around my neck. “So fucking delicate.” I am burning. Consumed by fire. A burst of need drives a whimper up my throat, and I choke it back as his thumb circles the sensitive hollow at the base of my neck. Firm. Unyielding. Dominant. With one squeeze, he could break me. The way I was broken before. The way he broke the butterfly. And yet nothing could tear me away from this moment. “Sia.” He says my name softly, drawing out the last syllable in a gravelly murmur, almost like a prayer. My brain fuzzes with lust, and I surrender to the thrill of his touch, the pounding of my pulse in my veins, the desire that has haunted me since I first saw him in the ring. My head falls back, my lips part, and I drown in the depths of an azure sea. With a low groan, Ray turns sideways in the chair, dropping his legs to the floor. With his hand still cupped around my neck, he pulls me between his legs, the casters on my stool squeaking in gentle protest. I circle my arms around his neck and my breasts rub against his bare chest. The press of his erection against my stomach sends a rush of moisture to my sex. “Jesus Christ.” His voice drops husky and low. “You’re killing me.” He leans down and sweeps my hair behind my shoulder, then nuzzles my neck. Sensation sears through my body and I tilt my head to the side to give him better access. So unprofessional. What if Slim comes out? Am I doing something wrong?” He closes the distance between us and runs his finger along the back waistband of my gym pants, sending delicious tingles up my spine. Then he slides his hands around my waist, bared by the rise of my T-shirt as I stretch to reach the top of the cupboard with my paintbrush. “Yes. You look too damn sexy. Do you know what it does to a man when he catches a glimpse of something he isn’t meant to see?” “I hope it makes him tell the woman she can call off the panic attack and drop her arm,” I mutter as I do just that. “I also hope it makes him decide his hands might be of better use somewhere other than around her waist.” Jake slides his fingers around to my stomach, resting them just over my mound and his voice drops to a low growl. “I could make use of them here.” “So says the man who turned down a good offer just the other night at Redemption.” I remove his hands and turn to face him, putting on a brave face while inside I seethe. Who does he think he is coming on to me after brushing me off? “No games, Jake. You made your position clear. I got that. I’m not interested in being screwed around.” He presses his hands against the cupboard on either side of my head, caging me with his body. “What are you interested in?” “Moving on,” I say honestly. His pulse throbs in his neck and his eyes harden. “With whom?” “No one right now.” He gives a satisfied grunt as if I had just cleared up a question in his mind. “Everyone is out back having a good time. You should be there too.” “There’s a lot of work to do. I want to get it done. The faster I open shop, the faster I can start my lawsuit against Farnsworth.” I slip under his arm and edge along the counter. “You’ve been working since six o’clock this morning.” Grabbing a clean cloth from the counter, I make an effort to wipe the grease off my face. “I’m used to working twenty-hour days. I’m not afraid of hard work.” But I am afraid of mercurial fighters who run hot one minute and cold the next. His face softens, and he takes the cloth from my hand and holds it under the tap. The pipes gurgle when he turns the rusty faucet and water gushes out, skimming over the cloth and trickling into the sink below. Without warning, he lifts me and settles me on the counter. “You don’t have to work like that anymore.” His voice is calm, soothing. I am momentarily lulled out of work mode and into heat mode as he eases his hips between my legs and reaches to turn off the faucet. “It’s Saturday night. Time to relax and have fun.” With a firm hand, he cups my jaw and then wipes the cloth gently over my nose, forehead, and cheeks. His gentle touch, the warmth of his hand, his breath, minty and sweet, and his hard body nestled between my thighs all converge in an unbearable rush of sensation. I grab his wrist, forcing his hand away. “Jake…I’m good. Really. There’s so much to do. I’ll come out when I’m done and I’ve cleaned myself up.” “I like you this way,” he murmurs. “You look…cute. Real.” “Real?” He brushes his thumb over my cheek. “Amanda without the armor. Your clothes, hair, makeup…nothing is perfect. It’s just the real you. I never got to see the real you before.” Torn between being mortified and pleased, I reach for another cloth. “Real Amanda is covered in dirt and has holes in her sweats.” He traces a finger down my throat to rest in the hollow at the base of my neck. The room heats to one hundred degrees, and if I’m not mistaken, I hear the sound of my blood boiling. “I like holes in sweats.” His voice drops, husky and low, and his finger continues its downward journey into the vee of my shirt. “Jake…” He traces lightly over the crescent of my breast. “I like dirty girls,” he whispers, his voice thick with desire. “I can’t stay away.” Oh God. Every bit of warmth rushes to my center as his deep, sensual voice ignites one of my dark fantasies. Jake, straddling my bound body, growling commands, telling me what he’s going to do to me in the filthiest language I know. A soft moan escapes my lips and we’re back on the roller coaster again. “This game you’re playing confuses me.” His heart beats strong against my palm when I lay my hand over his chest. “Me too.” “Then what are you doing?” His eyes take on a feral gleam and my breasts tingle. “Playing dirty,” he growls. Tangling his hand in my hair, he tugs my head back, exposing my throat to the heated slide of his lips. “Sometimes you have to stop thinking too much and just go with it.” My breath comes in short pants as he sucks gently on the pulse at the base of my throat. Barely able to form a coherent thought for the pounding of blood in my temples, I scramble for sanity. “There’s too much between us to just go with it. We need to talk…” His hand closes in my hair, twisting roughly. “Lawyers talk. You don’t look like a lawyer now. You look fucking sexy, and your mouth is all lush and pink and needing to be kissed. You want to talk, Amanda, or you want that kiss?” He nips the hollow at the base of my neck. Pleasure and pain meld together and I whimper as a heated rush of sensation floods my veins. “Kiss.” Jake smiles. “My dirty girl wants a dirty kiss.” Holding my face, he slants his mouth over mine and kisses me. Soft kiss. Sweet kiss. Warm, firm lips tasting faintly of coffee. His five o’clock shadow brushes my chin as his tongue eases my lips open to stroke against mine. My body melts against him as he explores my mouth, leaving nothing untouched. Tongues wind and tangle. Two years of fantasies coalesce in a single rasping breath. “’S not so dirty,” I mumble against his lips. “Oh, you don’t know how dirty I can be.” Jake grips my hair and tugs my head back with a firm, hard yank, sending little bolts of lightning straight to my core. Then he kisses me hard and fast. Rough. His teeth scrape my bottom lip as his tongue dives deep, filling me, taking what I have to give and demanding more. The pounding of my heart shifts from lust to fear as he consumes me, and for a moment I worry he has forgotten I need to breathe. When he breaks the kiss, I draw in a long, ragged breath. “You never kissed me like that before.” “You were never like this before,” he murmurs, his fingers easing up my shirt, his thumb tracing over the crescent of my breasts. “Raw and open, vulnerable, needing my help. So fucking real.” My breath catches in my throat as he explores, cupping and squeezing my breasts and then teasing my nipples through my lace bra until they are tight, aching peaks. “My clothes. Take them off.” ~~~~~~ In Your Corner Purchase links: Amazon ARe iTunes Kobo B&N Other titles by Sarah Castille: Against the Ropes Rough Justice Legal Heat Barely Undercover Yield to Me Unraveled Find Sarah Castille at: www.SarahCastille.com Twitter: @sarah_castille Sarah Castille Facebook page Sarah Castille Goodreads author page Sarah Castille Amazon author page More Sarah Castille on Cover Reveals Be on the lookout for Sarah Castille's future release(s): Beyond the Cut coming June 2015 and Sinner's Steel coming October 2015 Interested in these books?
