This week we are learning about Job. There is so much to learn from Job. He was faithful no matter what happened to him. There are several printables today, including a fill-in-the-blank for the kids to list the before and after things that Job had. And there is a song with visuals, too! Lesson: Today our lesson is found in Job 1 & 2, 42. It is in the middle of the Old Testament, right before Psalms. Job lived in UZ. He was faithful to God. Click here to download the before and after visuals of Job and his blessings. Job had 7 sons and 3 daughters. He also had 7000 sheep, 3000 camels, 500 oxen, 500 female donkeys and a very large household. One day, Satan told God that the only reason Job was faithful was because he had so much, and he had an easy life. So, God told Satan that he could do anything to Job, except lay a hand on him. Soon after, a servant came to Job and told him that while the oxen were plowing and the donkeys were eating beside them, the Sabeans came and took them and killed all the servants except for him. While that servant was talking, another came and told Job that a fire came from heaven and burned up the sheep and those servants, all except for the one that came to talk to Job. While the servant was talking, the Chaldeans took the camels and killed all the servants, except for… the one talking to Job. Again, while that servant was talking, another came and told Job that all his children were eating a meal and a great wind came and killed everyone, except for the servant talking. Job stood up and tore off his robe and shaved his head. He fell to the ground and said, "The Lord gives, and He takes away, blessed be the name of the Lord." No, Job didn’t get angry and shout at God for his misery! Now, Satan told God that Job was faithful because those things (servants, animals his children) that were taken away didn’t hurt him physically. So, God said Satan could do what he wanted except kill Job. (Job 2:7) We purchased this pot and broke it! My husband used this for a visual when he taught the teen class about Job, and I used it for this lesson. The kids loved it! The first thing Satan did was put painful boils all over Job, from his feet to the top of his head. (Job 2:7) Job used a broken pot to scrape himself! Then, Job’s wife started telling Job to curse God because of what was happening to him. Job told her that sometimes there’s good in life and sometimes there’s bad and Job did not curse God or sin. When his three friends came to see Job, they didn’t even recognize him! They ate with Job for seven days and nights and didn’t even talk! They did talk after that, and Job stayed faithful and didn’t blame God. But Job did have questions for God. (Job 38:1) and God answered Job out of a whirlwind. Job said “I know You can do anything (Job 42:2) When Job prayed for his friends, God gave Job back all that Job had lost, He even doubled it! (Job 42:10) God blessed the last days of Job and gave him (42:1212-13): Click here to download the before and after visuals of Job and his blessings. 14,000 sheep 6,000 camels 1,000 oxen 1,000 female donkeys 7 sons & 3 daughters There were not any women more beautiful in the land than Job’s daughters. Job lived 140 years after that. I printed this worksheet and we filled in the blanks as we talked about Job. Click here to print the Fill-In-The-Blank worksheet. The second picture is the answer sheet which can also be used as a teacher's visual. Click here to print the answer sheet. Ok, anybody that knows me, knows I can't sing. But, I woke up singing this one morning! I told my husband we had to wait to do our errands because I had to write it down before I forgot it! He just laughed and said OK! That was months ago, and I still like it! So, anyway, here is a song for Job with visuals. Just click on the picture to print it. Click here to download the worksheet. Click here to download the lesson. Click here to download the updated visuals. Not all are shown. Click here to download the pictures to color. Lesson helps and handouts for LDS Primary 3 Lesson 32: Remembering Jesus Christ When We Take the Sacrament
Jesus gave His followers many instructions during His time on earth. One of the most famous instructions is found in Matthew 28:16-20. The Great Commission.
Heaven is a very abstract concept for children to understand. We don't even fully comprehend it as adults! However, Jesus does give us some very clear and beautiful descriptions about our hope of eternity with Him. In this lesson, I try to make heaven as tangible and real as possible. I also emphasize to my little preschoolers that the best part about heaven is that we will finally be able to really see Jesus and be with Him forever! Bible Truth: I have a forever home in Heaven. Bible Story: Jesus went back to Heaven to prepare a home for us. Bible Study: John 14:1-6; Acts 1:9-11; I Thessalonians 4:15-17; Revelation 21:22-27 teach I like using our flannel graph set to visually show Jesus ascending up into heaven as I tell this story. Then I use a gold gift bag that I call my "Heaven Bag" to describe the kind of home that the Bible says Jesus is preparing for us. Below is a list of items that I have in the bag. I pull each item out one by one, and talk about whether or not we will have and/or need it in heaven. If it will be in heaven I keep it in the gold bag. If not, I throw it into a trash bag, which I usually ask one of the children to hold for me. Items to represent what will be in heaven include: gold (coins or jewelry) crown jewels small musical instrument (worship) piece of fruit (we will have a feast in heaven) picture of Jesus (the best part about heaven is we will see Jesus!) Items that will not be in heaven include: band-aids medicine flashlight tissues (to wipe tears) black heart (sin) sing Heaven is a Happy Place - I have colored various pictures from coloring books to illustrate each verse of this song. You could also hold up objects from the lesson above that correspond with each verse of this song. Follow the link for the tune and lyrics. craft up in a cloud This craft helps the children remember, and retell the story of Jesus' ascension. You will need: these print outs (I suggest printing the first page on card stock for stability and ease of operation.) scissors tape yarn hole-punch cotton balls glue crayons To prepare, cut out the large clouds, and pictures of Jesus for each child. Punch a hole in the center top and bottom of the activity page, and thread a piece of yarn (approximately 20 inches long) through each hole. Tie off the ends of the yarn in the back near to the top hole. Tape Jesus to the piece of yarn. In class, children can color their page and glue cotton balls the clouds. Help them put glue on the opposite ends of the large cloud, and attach it to their pages in a way that allows for Jesus to easily be pulled up behind it. Children pull the string in the back to move Jesus from standing on the ground with His disciples, to ascend up to heaven in a cloud. 'h' is for heaven This is simple, low prep craft. Print this activity sheet onto cloud stationery paper. I purchased mine from Wal-Mart. Give the children small cotton balls, or pull larger cotton balls apart, to glue onto the letter 'H'. a beautiful home Another simple craft is to provide children with craft jewels and sequins to decorate a picture like this. See this post for more activities to teach your child about Heaven at home this week!

This Easter, Mormon.org is introducing their #PRINCEofPEACE campaign across the world in remembrance of our Savior, Jesus Christ.
(Mark 1:14-22) At first glance, today's scripture appeared very simple... too simple for a game. There are a plethora of fish crafts but, we haven't played a game in a while, and I had my heart set on having an active activity this week. I read the scripture over and over trying to pick out enough details to support a game. As the week waned, I tried to talk myself into a craft anyway. But I couldn't do it. Thankfully, I awoke Saturday morning with this game idea: Supplies: Colored cardstock Scissors Sharpie Any fish drawing Bean bags (hacky sacks would work well, too) Questions (click to download) Optional: Blue plastic disposable table cloth If you do not want to draw your own fish, or have a picture you can use, you are welcome to download mine here. (Of course, this is for your private use only, and you may not sell the image or anything made from it.) Pre-class Instructions: 1. Using a copy machine or printer, copy the fish image onto 18 pieces of colored cardstock. 2. Cut out the fish. 3. Write one question on the back of each fish. Notice there are only 9 questions, but I have instructed you to cut out 18 fish. Each question will appear on two fish. This allows the game to be played in teams (each team getting their own set of questions/fish, or when there are only a few kids playing, the repetition will help them learn the correct answers.) 4. Print out the question & answer sheet in case it is needed during game play. How to play: 1. If using a blue tablecloth to mimic water, spread it on floor. 2. Spread the fish, face up, on top of the water. If not using the tablecloth, just spread the fish in a smallish area on the floor. 3. Pick a spot on the floor where the kids will stand when it is their turn. I used a rug we have in our room. I simply told them they could not step off the rug during their throw. 4. Each child gets one throw at a time. They are to toss the bean bag in an attempt to land on a fish. 5. When they land on a fish, they get to turn it over and read the question aloud. If they get the answer right, they get to keep the fish. If they do not know the answer, the fish must be returned to the sea, face up. Be sure to tell everyone the correct answer so the next time someone lands on that fish, they will know the answer. 6. The team or child with the most fish at the end of the game wins.
