"This was the winning entry in the contest to celebrate the opening of the Simplon Alpine tunnel in 1906, which first provided a direct link between Paris and Milan. It is one of Metlicovitzs most famous and inspired designs, the red of the engines light emphasizing the movement of the train out of the tunnel." Size: 5.5 x 3.5 inches. Good condition - Minor yellowing, foxing on back. Minor corner and edge wear. Used condition - Vintage or antique post cards will be in imperfect condition: * May have folds, creases, tears, or wearing on corners, etc. * May have yellowing or spots. * Paper may be 50-100+ years old, handle with care.
