A question that pops up in the LEGO® Train hobby community somewhat frequently is interpreted as follows: "I've amassed a fair collection of LEGO® Train track pieces beyond what comes in the basic train set; how do I know what I can build with it all?" I see a few different ways this que

I finally figured out that I don't have room to do everything I want (2 trains, etc) on a small layout so I'm starting with something simple. This is loosely based on Lionel's D-290 display layout. I don't know if I'll add the upper level loop or not....
Whether due to their color or rarity, the prices for these Lego parts are unbelievable. I keep track of some of the most expensive pieces.

I know this has been talked about many many times but it's no longer on the forum that I can find. Does anyone have an updated version of the 1957 Lionel catalog Super O layout? Since I'm tearing my layout apart and doing it over, I was thinking long...

I've been mentioning a full-on LEGO city (note the lowercase 'C') for awhile now, and at last I have decided upon where it will go, and that has given me an exact size, which in turn let me flesh out a possible set of details in BlueBrick. THIS IS NOT FINISHED! Click the picture above to see it full-sized with some quick annotations. Pay no attention to the finest details of what sets are depicted, where small gaps appear in the tracks, etc. None of that is relevant. This is a draft digital mock-up that is as good as it needs to be to convey what's going on with the layout. This has been designed with a heavy focus on the trains, hence the reason I have two full train loops that can be run independently plus a good-sized train yard for rolling stock storage. The skinny monorail-looking loop is a mock-up for what will be my 4-wide/narrow-gauge elevated intra-city shuttle train. This layout has been through hundreds of revisions, and there are surely more to come, but this gives you an idea of the general types of things to expect!
These scale replicas of actual race tracks have to be seen to be believed.
WALLEGO has a whole set of solutions to mount your LEGO train track on the walls or ceiling. With the WALLEGO Modular Helix you can drive your train from your existing layout or workbench up high on the walls for all to see and enjoy. Using your LEGO R40 standard curve track, along with the WALLEGO bracket to guide your train down or up the curved incline. ***Please Note! This system isn’t going to work with every LEGO train. I used a 2nd motor on the 60197 locomotive to easily climb this incline. One motor wasn’t quite enough. And the height could be an issue. This isn’t for your Big Boy. The clearance between rail and above bracket is 100mm Each centre Coupler is 120mm tall with the first/top one being 150mm You get ONE centre coupler, ceiling/floor plate and 8 arms. The pictures show 3 of these brackets in tandem. Again, the price is for 1 coupler and the 8 arms. You add the 1.5” pvc pipe, screws to mount ceiling/floor plate and the LEGO track. It’s clockwise decline (counterclockwise incline), but can do the other direction by request.
