Leaves are beautiful to me whether they are green in the summer or changing leaves in the fall. The Changing Leaves bundle provides lots of opportunity to be creative. My Son and his fiance are getting married in Las Vegas on Saturday. This is the card I made for them. Their colors are Real Red & Very Vanilla. I added just a “splash” of red to the Gold Metalic-Edge
Today was an "off" day for me. I have heard that the third day after surgery is the worst - and certainly that was the case for me. I'm glad I don't have a craft show tomorrow. So, instead, I tried doing some playing in the craft room today, and managed one card, the one I am about to post. I was so happy to get the "Hearth & Home" framelit and the stamp set "Happy Scenes" that coordinates with it. I started with the scene out of the window, selecting the Halloween/Thanksgiving image. The sky was coloured with s Marina Mist sponge and a cluster of scallop circles adhered together. The rest of the image was coloured with markers from the Brights family - Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Old Olive, Daffodil Delight. The tree was touched up with a Chocolate chip marker The image was trimmed to fit behind a Very Vanilla window, die cut using the Hearth and Home framelit. I later sponged the edges of the window with Crumb Cake ink so the window would blend in with the rest of the card. On the left side of the window I attached a small piece of Happy Haunting DSP. Then I built the rest of the card - an Old Olive base, layered with Very Vanilla, and then Crumb Cake cardstock embossed with the new Softly Falling Embossing Folder. All of these edges were sponged with Crumb Cake ink. Horizontally, in the middle, was attached a piece of Old Olive cardstock upon with was attached 1/2 of a frayed burlap ribbon. I tied the frayed pieces in a knot in the middle and put it aside. The window & DSP was attached to the rest of the card using dimensionals. The knotted piece of frayed burlap was added to the lower window sill. The sentiment was stamped with Chocolate Chip ink, the strip notched at both ends and attached below the window with dimensionals. Supplies Used: Built for Free Using: My Stampin Blog

Thank you - I am thrilled that you enjoyed the Fall papercrafting ideas I shared yesterday in my video! Today I am highlighting the Gather Together bundle cards I previewed in my video yesterday! If you missed it, watch the video in THIS POST. The Gather Together bundle is featured in the Come to Gather Suite in the 2019 Holiday Catalog from Stampin' Up! on pages 46 to 48, HERE online. To start my fall cards, I embossed Whisper White cardstock with the new Stylish Scroll Embossing Folder, then used a Stampin' Sponge to apply the
Hello Friends It's official. My sister (the other half of the twins whose birthday was last week) let me know that she received her card. So I can post it now. I stamped En Francais as a background, then used Versamark and clear powder to stamp the maple leaf from Gently Falling. Crushed Curry, Pumpkin Pie and Cajun Craze were sponged carefully around the leaf (I *love* the emboss resist technique!) and the layers were matter. Don't you love the Beautifully Baroque embossed layer? The Crushed Curry was just a little too stark so I sponged Cajun Craze across the raised embossed edges to give it that punch. Love how it turned out! And the ticket punch came in handy - used my Stamp-a-ma-jig to perfectly place the happy Birthday from Petite Pairs inside the That's the Ticket image and punched 3 images out and adhered them using a vintage trinket. Just the sort of card I was certainmy sister would appreciate (and she did). And just the sort of card that embodies Autumn, don't you think? And of course the inside of the card and the envelope had to be spruced up too, That's one of the benefits of making your own cards. You can coordinate everything to give them *wow* factor! And speaking of *wow* - don't forget that tomorrow is the first day of my one-week personal birthday special. This is a personal special available only through me, but available to ANYONE in Canada. From Oct 1 - Oct 7, on any order of $60 or more, I will pay the shipping and handling fees* as my birthday gift to all of you. (*regular HST fees still apply). Until tomorrow then --- I hope you enjoy a wonderful day! God Bless, ~Cynthia <><
Hi everyone. Time for the next ATS&M challenge (#114 - CAS). Yay!! :) This challenge is sponsored by Today's card was inspired by this beautiful card by my teammate Julie ... isn't it gorgeous??!! I used leftover leaves from my video tutorial from yesterday. As I mentioned, I filmed the tutorial three times before posting it ... which means I have LOTS of watercolored autumn leaves left to use. :) I know these leaves don't look CAS, but if you watched my video, you'll see that I watercolored them in under 5 minutes --- so not a lot of time to make this card. To change them up, I coated these two with Clear Rock Candy Crackle Paint from Tim Holtz. I just bought this ... and was excited to give it a try. One thing I learned, I was chintzy with my first coat and didn't add enough ... so with the second coat, I slathered it on ... way too much :) I've learned what not to do for next time :) lol! Here's a close-up ... Because the leaves are aged looking with the brown edges and the crackle finish, they looked too stark on white woodgrain, so I just sponged over top of the embossing with Antique Linen and Brushed Corduroy distress inks. Then I took my Vintage Photo DI and lightly stroked the ink pad across the top to catch the high spots of the embossing. Love how it turned out. I'm going to enter this into the latest challenge at Paper Players which is being run by my friend, Jaydee (Paper Players #214 - Masculine Birthday Card). And into the challenge at Clearly Besotted (#13 - Autumn / Halloween). I hope you'll check out the ATS&M challenge HERE and see the amazing creations from the rest of the Design Team. And hope you'll join in this fun challenge with us! :) Stamps: Gently Falling (SU!); A Little Sentimental (Clearly Besotted) Paper: White (Neenah); Watercolor (Arches 140 lb. cold press) Ink: Distress Inks: Antique Linen, Brushed Corduroy, Vintage Photo, Walnut Stain, Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon, Fired Brick Accessories & Tools: Waterbrush, Rock candy crackle paint (Tim Holtz); Woodgrain embossing folder (Sizzix) Challenges: Paper Players #214 Clearly Besotted #13

Just a simple "hello" card for today. More card parts:) I embossed this piece soon after receiving my second order of Darice folders, but it had just been sitting on my desk until last night. Before embossing, I brayered sage green ink on it. I trimmed it down to fit the bottom part of the card. I added the ribbon across the top. Then I was trying out different die-cut sentiments and went with "hello." I believe it's from Memory Box. I cut it last month at our Group Gathering, so I'm not sure. I wasn't sure how I was going to get the sentiment to stick to the ribbon, so I used my Xyron. Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!

This 3D Texture Fades Embossing Folder, Acorns, is designed by Tim Holtz for Sizzix and is part of the Halloween Collection. This folder features small acorns and oak leaves. This folder is compatible with leading die cutting machines (sold separately). This folder, because of its thickness, should be used with only one cutting pad and the machine's platform. For best results, spray a fine water mist on your material on both sides, before running through your machine. This folder can be used to make cards, scrapbook pages, tags, journal and planner pages, and other paper crafting and mixed media projects. The design dimensions for this folder are 6.25" x 4.25".
