Man patīk gatavot cepeškrāsnī - ne tikai dārzeņus vai gaļu. Arī grauzdiņus. Ja vēlas, maizei nogriež garoziņu, es nogriežu tikai tumšo virspuses garozu. Pēc tam sagriež kubiņos vai stienīšos, kārtīgi samaisa ar eļļu un ķiplokiem. Maizes gabaliņus liek uz plātī ieklāta cepampapīra un cep 200C 10-12 minūtes. Izņem no krāsns un pilnībā atdzesē.
I took a long weekend trip to Riga in September 2005 - what a very nice city. I was expecting Communist gray but it was a very modern city with a really nice old town. Good walking city - and a lot of Jugendstil (German Art-Nouveau designed) buildings everwhere. Excellent food and beer too; lots of pretty women but no photo shoots - bummer!

Today's pancake is typical of the the Baltic and - even though they call it a pancake - the soft batter is almost thin enough to call a crêpe. Latvians love adding spiced apples to their pancakes. To be totally traditional, be sure to serve them with yogurt and a healthy drizzle of honey.
