Garden at Cedar St, Pawtucket, 2019 Original Linoleum cut relief print by Julia Samuels, edition of 250 only. Plate size: 9" x 12", signed in pencil below the image. Paper size: 9.5" x 11" Printed and published by the artists at Overpass Projects in Providence, Rhode Island. This print shows a stark composition of electrical wires, traffic lights and a Dunkin' Donuts sign located near to Exit 25 on I-95 in Pawtucket, RI. Rhode Island is littered with Dunkin' Donuts and whether or not you're not a fan, Dunkin' has a special place in the heart of any New Englander. I'm obsessed with the lines and the wires and the intricacy they draw across our sky. The wires overwhelm our landscape in Providence and across our country, and I repeat these throughout my work. They speak to me as a symbol for our dependence on fossil fuels and a harbinger of global warming. ___ Julia Samuels is an artist and master printer based in Providence, Rhode Island.
