Looking for an easy way to teach instrumental music to your students while also getting them to develop their singing voice? This resource is perfect for generalist and music specialists alike to teach music to their upper primary, and junior grades. Each slide comes with easy instructions to teach the songs so all you need is a few diatonic sets of boomwhackers (depending on how many kids there are in your class) and you are ready to go! (Please note that this resource is for in-person instruction.) In this pdf, students will be using their knowledge of familiar songs such as "Twinkle Twinkle" and "Mary Had a Little Lamb" in order to sing solfège and play the corresponding boomwhacker in small groups. There are videos you can use to teach the students solfège so it is all ready and done for you, even if you don't know music. As this resource is from Grades 2-6, you can provide more whole-class instruction for the younger grades at the beginning of the unit, whereas the older students can split into small groups earlier, based on their level of competence. There are clear links to the Ontario Music Curriculum for ease of assessment when it comes to report card writing as well. This is a beautifully bound, antique copy of "The Christian Keepsake - A Christmas & New Year's Gift" edited by L.H. Sigourney. Circa 1840's to 1850's (there is no date of publication stated); Leavitt and Allen; New York. Decorative cloth binding with gilt decorations on the covers and spine. Gilt page edges on all sides of the text block. The book contains six full-page illustrated plates, including a presentation page in color. The book is a collection of poetry and short literary pieces by a variety of writers, including Harriet Beecher Stowe and Sarah Josepha Hale (author of "Mary Had a Little Lamb"). Condition: A small bit of the title label on the spine has chipped away. Tight binding with no cracks and no loose pages. Both covers are firmly attached. Sharp cover corners. Occasional staining and foxing to the pages (the illustrated plates have a stain at the outer edge; large stain on the frontispiece, the "Presented To" page, and the title page; the last 20 or so pages have staining at the outer edge). An inscription in ink dated 1860 has been written on the "Presented To" page. Bright gilt page edges on all sides of the text block. A few of the tissue guards over the engravings have tears. Overall the book is in Good- condition.
