Block 3 is done and dusted. The top of the vase sits a lot better in real life so I don't think I will unstitch and redo. Other than that I am quite happy with it. Another sweet william block done too....Only five of this batch to go! Then I will need to decide if I want to go as big as the pattern as that will mean another 19 blocks to be made. A smaller version would definitely be more practical but I will wait and see.... All part of the fun. Happy days... marina

How to make a DIY sewing table.
Here is the runner in it's new home. I used on Awesome Charm Pack Sandy Gervais for Moda Fabrics. There are 39 2 inch hexagons that were hand paper pieced together. Now some have been cut off to only a corner after trimming, but there were 39 whole to start. After hand sewing all of the hexagons themselves and then hand sewing them all together, I decided on machine quilting the top. I figured if I hand quilted the top it would be the Christmas holidays before I had it finished. Love my first, hand pieced hexagon finished piece!

Do you love a quick finish project? Yes, me too. It’s a lovely feeling to start and finish something and to be able show a result. Sure a project which is intricate and requires a lot of time and skill is a wonderful thing, but something that is finished quickly is just as satisfying. This past couple of weeks, I’ve been in a bit of a “placemat making frame of mind”. I’ve been quite ill this past few weeks, so these types of small projects, which could be completed in a sitting, have been perfect. My ‘All in a Row’ quilted placemats were fun to create, and SUPER easy! Gather a handful of scrappy strips, some solid fabric for the outer borders and have a go at creating some ‘All in a Row’ quilted placemats. Add a little row of hand stitching, for a special “personal” touch. The full pattern, including step by step photographs and binding instructions, can be downloaded HERE from my Google Drive. The fabric which I used in the scrappy row is called Forget Me Not by Sue Daley Designs. It’s available in Australia from Millhouse Collections or check the Penny Rose Fabrics website for international stockists. If you liked my pattern and use it to create your own “All in a Row” Quilted Placemats, I would love to see your creations.
