Free Doll Sweater Knitting Pattern
The Cumulus Blouse is worked from the top down in stockinette stitch with two strands of thin mohair/silk yarn held together throughout. The design has a deep rounded V-neck. All edges are finished with i-cord. Size guide The Cumulus Bluse is designed to have approx. 10-15 cm [4-6 inches] of positive ease, meaning it is designed to be approx. 10-15 cm [4-6 inches] larger in circumference than your bust measurement. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL are designed to fit a bust circumference of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 (130-140) 140-150 cm [31½-33½ (33½-35½) 35½-37½ (37½-39½) 39½-43¼ (43¼-47¼) 47¼-51¼ (51¼-55) 55-59 inches]. The measurements for the finished sweater can be found on the front page of the pattern. Measure yourself before beginning your project, to determine which size will fit you the best. For example, if you measure 90 cm 35½ inches around your bust (or around the widest part of your upper body) you should knit a size S. A size S sweater has a bust circumference of 102 cm [40¼ inches] which in the given example would give you 12 cm [4¾ inches] of positive ease. Sizes: XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL Bust circumference: 96 (102) 109 (116) 126 (136) 140 (149) 156 cm [37¾ (40¼) 43 (45¾) 49½ (53½) 55 (58¾) 61½ inches] Length: 52 (54) 57 (59) 60 (62) 64 (66) 68 cm [20½ (21¼) 22½ (23¼) 23½ (24½) 25¼ (26) 26¾ inches] Gauge: 18 sts x 26 rows = 10 x 10 cm [4 x 4 inches] in stockinette stitch on 4.5 mm [US7] needles after blocking Needles: Circular needles: 4.5 mm [US7] / 60 and 80 and/or 100 cm [24 and 32 and/or 40 inches] Double-pointed needles: 4.5 mm [US7] Materials: 150 (175) 200 (200) 225 (225) 250 (250) 275 g Silk Mohair by Isager Yarn (25 g = 212 m [232 yds]) or Tynn Silk Mohair by Sandnes Garn (25 g = 212 m [232 yds]) or Brushed Lace by Mohair by Canard (25 g = 210 m [230 yds]) or Soft Silk Mohair by Knitting for Olive (25 g = 225 m [246 yds]) or Tilia by Filcolana (25 g = 210 m [230 yds]). Note: Two strand of yarn are held together throughout. The given yardage amounts are the total yardage needed. Difficulty: ★ ★ ★ (3 out of 5) See the classification of difficulty here. Who doesn't want to knit their own Narwhal, or giant whale of the deep, blue ocean. Patterns for both are included in the PDF: the body plan for both is the same with the additional instructions on how to create the Narwhal's glorious, spiralling tusk. The finished size of the sample is 30cm/12" from the end of the Narwhal's tusk to the top if his beautifully fluked tail, but the size of your finished creation will be determined by your choice of yarn and needles. Any smooth yarn of any weight can be used, but it is recommended that you use needles one or two sizes smaller than those suggested on the yarn ball band to achieve a tight gauge and avoid the filling from showing.

Knitted in worsted-weight wool, the lofty fabric of this sweater envelops you in earthy comfort as you welcome a sense of natural awe into your wardrobe."INCLUDEDItem is a digital knitting pattern file containing written instructions, video tutorials, a stitch glossary, and more.LANGUAGEEnglish. This knitting pattern is written in standard American terms.SIZE & FIT Fit: The sweater is designed as a slightly oversized, relaxed-fitting sweater with approximately 8.5”-10” (21.59-25.4 cm) of positive ease. This sweater is worked straight, with the bust circumference remaining the same down to the hips, so there is no bust or waist shaping (making it great unisex). The sleeves are only slightly tapered, making them larger/roomier for a more relaxed, boxy fit. Neck shaping is worked to result in a naturally scooped front neckline, ensuring the sweater fits and lays properly when worn.Sizes: XS, S, M, L, XL, 2XL, 3XL, 4XL, 5XL. Here is a free pattern for a very basic yet versatile dress to fit an American Girl or 18" doll. This is a great beginner sewing pattern to learn with!
This is a fabulous pattern. I would knit it just for the brim. Love it. I was participating in a “Shrink It” KAL and wanted to make a cap for an American Girl doll. This fit the bill. I decided to do a baseball cap rather than the one shown but used the same elements. Project Notes Using the smallest size. Cast 70 st on with 2.75mm (US 2) needles Work 4 rows of rib On 5th row BO first 5 st rib to last 5 stitches, BO 5 st (60 st) I used straight bind off. Change to alternate yarn. Starting from wrong side, work 5 rows flat Stockinette Then increase 1 st each opening edge next row and every alternate row 3 times for a total of 6 rows ending on purl side (66 st) At end of next row cast on 4 st (70 st) placing marker after second cast on stitch. Working in the round, knit for 2 inches in total from beginning. Begin decreases. Brim Using 2.5mm (1 1/2 US) continue in pattern. Having done this once, I think I would be tempted to do 2 more rows to the brim.

Perfect for stash busting or playing with those highly variegated yarns. Mix-n-Match for maximum, spooktacular fun and decorate your home to really get you in the Halloween spirit. Materials & Tools any weight yarn - any color Needle size will vary depending on the yarn you use. I recommend going down 1 - 2 sizes from the smallest needle size for the recommended gauge on the yarn label. For example: On a worsted weight yarn I use a US 5 or US 6. this project can be worked on DPN’s, 2 circs or a 40” circular for Magic Loop (my preferred method), just make sure to distribute your stitches evenly for working in the round tapestry needle (for weaving in ends) stitch marker (for marking the beginning of round) safety eyes - I used 12mm on my samples, purchased from seller 6060 on etsy wool felt (for owl eyes & beak) scrap yarn for zombie mouth & stitches polyfil Gauge You want a tight fabric when knitting toys/stuffies so the polyfil won’t poke through. I always go down 1 - 2 needle sizes from the smallest size recommended on the yarn label. For a Worsted - I typically use a US 5 or US 6, DK - a 2 or 3 and for Fingering US 0 - 1 These are just suggestions and everyone knits differently, so just make sure you are getting a dense fabric. You want all that stuff’in to stay on the inside.
Have you ever actually looked at your garbage can and realized just how much you throw away every week? The amount of cardboard and plastic and paper that we accumulate just sitting around our homes is astounding. Of course, we do recycle and try and use those refillable water bottles, but that’s just not as fun as knitting your way out of the waste! Forget one-use face wipes and coffee-house cardboard sleeves, with a bit of scrap yarn and some patience you can have knit washcloths and knit mug cozies that will do the job just as well without anything having to go into the garbage! Instead of tossing out your grocery bags, knit yourself a whole cartful of knit bags! You’ll be saving a few plastic bags from the ocean and make those cereal boxes and piles of apples look twice as good. Reduce your carbon footprint with this list of 22 Eco-Friendly Knit Patterns.
