The Holiday Slipover is a chunky slipover with deep armholes. It is worked from the top down in stockinette stitch. First the back of the yoke is worked, then the shoulders, then the front of the yoke and finally the body. A split rib edge where the back section is worked a bit longer than the front section is worked at the hem. Rib edges are worked at the neck edge and along the armholes at the end, and finished with an Italian cast-off for a neat and lovely finish. Knit a swatch before beginning the project to check if the recommended needle size gives you the correct gauge. Note that three strands of yarn are held together throughout the pattern for a chunky look (two strands of worsted weight yarn and one strand of lace weight yarn). Size guide Holiday Slipover is designed to have approx. 6 cm [2¼ inches] of positive ease, meaning it is designed to be 6 cm [2¼ inches] larger in circumference than your chest measurement. The sizes XS (S) M (L) XL (2XL) 3XL (4XL) 5XL are designed to fit a chest circumference of 80-85 (85-90) 90-95 (95-100) 100-110 (110-120) 120-130 (130-140) 140-50 cm [31½-33½ (33½-35½) 35½-37½ (37½-39½) 39½-43¼ (43¼-47¼) 47¼-51¼ (51¼-55) 55-59 inches]. Before beginning your project, measure yourself with a measuring tape around your bust to determine which size will fit you the best. For example, if you measure 90 cm [35½ inches] around your bust (or the widest part on your upper body) you should knit a size S. A size S sweater has a bust circumference of 96 cm [37¾ inches], which in the given example would give you 5 cm [2 inches] of positive ease. If you would like a more oversize fit, chose a size larger than you would normally do. Deima's Sporty Shorts Light and sporty shorts knitted in a soft and new type of summer yarn, made of cotton, modal and viscose, in double rib. the shorts are high-waisted and loose in the legs, with a panel down each side. The inspiration comes from classic running shorts, and the structure has been played with a bit, to add a little excitement to the look and the knitting process. The shorts will be your favorite cosy uniform in the winther months inside. To knit the shorts, you must be able to knit & purl, make increases and the bind off method is a bit different, but i believe that even a beginner would be able to pick it up and make them look neat. Wear them with sneakers and a cute sweatshirt to complete the sporty look, or a nice shirt and sandals for a more formal look. The original yarn is not available in many yarn stores, but it is highly recommended. It is amazing to knit with, and falls so nicely after washing. And it comes in so many beautiful colors. Yarn: Norma from Lang Yarns (55% cotton, 35% modal, 10% viscose) Gauge: 20 sts x 25 rounds = 10 cm x 10 cm in double rib Needle sizes: 4.5 mm circular needle (60 cm and 40 cm) Sizes: small (medium) large Yarn total: 4 (4) 5 skeins of original yarn Alternative yarn: Mandarin medi from Sandnes, Belle from Drops, Mandarin Petite from Sandnes yarn (held double) Measurements: Hip: 84 cm (92 cm) 100 cm Thigh: 52 cm (60 cm) 78 cm Extra: 4 stitch markers and an elastic band for the waist, measuring between 3.5 - 4 cm in width. Hello! I won a few skeins of this soft, misty, almost magical brushed mohair in the October Monthly Challenge hosted by the gregarious Maryanne from Woolhogs fame and WOW! At first I was speechless - what is a cotton lover to do with mohair yarns?! It is so delicate and raw simultaneously that I was completely in awe. Inspiration struck after I touched the strands, played with the yarn between my fingers and put mood boards together. I started dreaming up endless ideas, possibilities and patterns so utterly suitable to the raw look of the yarn, but finally settled on a mesh pattern. Mood-boards put together from my Raw Rustic Pinterest Yarn: African Expressions Love Brushed Mohair Hook Size: 7mm Pattern: liveinternet.ru nr 10 as found on Pinterest Hint: In order to prevent total chaos, I imported the pattern into the Doceri app on the Ipad and colour coded the rows as seen in the below image. The Asterisque Cowl is a great project for advanced beginning and intermediate knitters – multifunctional and such texture! “Asterisque” or Asterisk is named after the stitch pattern used, which reminds me of a blanket of or asterisks or stars. Blocked measurements: 30” x 10” Don’t overstress gauge! As long as you’re close, you’ll be fine. This is an oversized piece - if you’re off by an inch either way, you should be fine. Blocking is very important for this - it really evens out the stitches and gives you nice sharp corners. My patterns come with email/Ravelry messaging system support - email is listed in the pattern! Thanks so much!
