I've been having so much fun with the NEW kit from the Stampin' Up! Kits Collection called "The Best Remedy Kit!" If you are on the fence about this kit, I hope these cards will make you have to order it now. Here's what you receive: Below are the projects I've created with the kit. I hope you like them! I decided to stay pretty close to the kit instructions with my first three cards. Aren't they just the cutest? You have to order this kit! You will have so much fun with all the cuteness! With them card, I only added the Baker's Twine under the tip of the heart. I added Starry Sky Baker's Twine behind the cute little mouse and stamped the ice cream cone in Starry Sky ink on the pink cardstock. I also used Polished Pink ink and blending brushes to shade along the edges of the top and bottom of the pink cardstock. The card base front was embossed and the green cardstock was stamped with the cute little ice pack (is it an ice pack?). I also wrapped Starry Sky Baker's Twine around the card and tied it in a bow. Now the fun begins! Here are my alternate cards. I used a variety of products for these next cards and went completely rogue on one card... but I absolutely love how it turned out! Here are the next six cards, completely winging it! The Pool Party card was cut in half and embossed and Pool Party Sheer Ribbon wrapped around the card and tied in a bow. I used the Brushed Shapes Dies in Polished Pink to add behind the cute little hippo. I added three Loose Flower Flourishes around the sentiment which was stamped in Pool Party ink. The die cut that was originally stamped was too big, so I used another of the same die cut and traced onto it and fussy cut to get the right size. The Hippo was colored with Stampin' Blends in Pool Party and the flower in Petal Pink and Old Olive for the leaf. For this card, I used the negative of the heart to trace a heart out of Polished Pink cardstock. I then stamped a background in leaves from the Eden's Garden stamp set. The skunk was stamped with Memento ink and colored with Basic Black Stampin' Blends with Petal Pink on his feet and ears. Polished Pink ribbon was wrapped around the card and tied in a bow. For this card, I also used the negative of the heart and using Starry Sky ink and Blending Brushes, I shaded in the heart. The circle was die cut using Layering Circles Dies in Granny Apple Green and embossed. Starry Sky Metallic ribbon was wrapped around the card twice and tied in a bow. The DSP is Tea Boutique. The mouse was adhered with dimensionals. The sentiment has liquid adhesive on one side and tucked under the mouse with a single dimensional on the other end of the banner. I didn't really add much to this card. Natural Woven Ribbon was wrapped around the card and tied in a knot. The sentiment is from Soft Seedlings stamp set, stamped in Granny Apple Green. The skunk and sentiment were adhered with dimensionals. I love this card! The card base is Crushed Curry. The next layer is Starry Sky, and finally Basic White, which was embossed. The DSP in the center is from Butterfly Kisses. The frame around the DSP is from the left over strips after taking out the Starry Sky die cuts. I don't throw anything away, and I knew those strips would be used eventually. The mouse and sentiment were adhered with dimensionals. The sentiment is from Soft Seedlings stamp set. And for my last card, I went completely rogue! And this is my ultimate favorite card! I love how this turned out! Yes, I did go rogue with the card and I didn't use many items from the Kit... but I did use the card base and envelope! Haha The DSP is Tea Boutique and the stamp is from Soft Seedlings stamp set. The sentiment is from Hello Beautiful stamp set, using Basic Gray ink. To create the different colors on the leaf, I used blending brushes and Granny Apple Green and Crushed Curry inks. I used the brushes to "color" directly onto to stamp. I wasn't sure how it would turn out, but I loved the result. Here's the inside of the card. I used Granny Apple Green ink for the inside of the card. Natural Woven Ribbon was wrapped around the card and tied in a knot. Thanks so much for stopping by today and I hope you enjoyed my cards. The new By Your Side Kit is aimed at pet lovers and specifically those who like Cats or Dogs, with alternative designs.
Hello and welcome! Today I'm sharing cards from the Notes of Cheer Card Kit and some alternative project ideas using basic supplies that you might like to try. The Notes of Cheer Kit includes everything you need to make 9 cards - 3 each of 3 designs. All for just $21 (plus $5.95 shipping) & it comes in the fun decorated box pictured above. It's super quick and easy to make with no stamping. A new card maker could easily make them, you could make with kids, or gift a kit. You'll have a stack of pretty cards to give or send in a flash. I'm not a huge kit user but the colours and butterflies in this one caught my eye. I'm also a slow card maker so kits are a great way to quickly have a stack of just because cards ready to send. I hope my cards give you some ideas to try with your own kit. Here's what I made. Let's take a closer look. These cards are the 3 card kit designs and matching envelopes. Cute huh? The laser cut shapes are so intricate. Here's each design and how I stepped them up simply. Design 1 - Large Butterflies These were the element that sealed the deal that I needed the kit. Who wouldn't want to open an envelope & find a colourful butterfly inside? This inspired me to create simple easel cards with the other 2. Easel 1: Instructions Start with a top folding white card base (Full card sheet cut in half longways). Score and fold the card front in half to form the easel. Adhere a piece of Misty Moonlight card to the bottom half of the front. Adhere butterfly card together or cut off the back, then adhere onto Misty Moonlight half of card front using Dimensionals (as shown in pic) Apply 3 kit rhinestones to butterfly body as shown. Trim 'you make life brighter' sentiment to add banner ends, then adhere as shown with Dimensionals. Adhere a piece of patterned paper to the inside ( I used Subtles collection - Pear Pizzazz) Apply 3 kit rhinestones onto patterned paper where shown, to enable easel front to stand up. Apply some clear Wink of Stella if you have some (everyone should) to parts of the butterfly. Folds flat to post. Note you'll need a standard envelope to post, unless you make the base slightly smaller. I forgot that. ;) Easel 2: This version is made much the same as version 1, except... Base is Polished Pink instead of white. It would still work with white. Pear Pizzazz paper is smaller - covering just past the sentiment. The sentiment is from card design 3. I added bits of leftover pink card from the kit behind it, then popping the whole piece up on Dimensionals. The butterfly is upright rather than on an angle. Design 2 - Butterfly cluster I kept the lovely laser cut butterfly cards simple. Left - Kit design. It's hard to see but the laser cut panel is popped up on dimensionals. Top - I changed the sentiment, creating a banner with the 'note' sentiment from one of the other language sentiments included, and flipped the laser cut piece. Bottom - I cut down the die cut & multi-coloured card front and mounted them onto a Misty Moonlight card base using Dimensionals, Cutting it allowed me to change which colours were visible behind the laser cut. I also cut down the sentiment and added a scrap of pink from the sentiment pieces and some pearls. Here's a closer look. Design 2 - Lacy border The lacy laser cut for this kit is very pretty so I didn't want to add much. Top Left - Kit design. I left off a papaya sentiment piece - oops! Bottom Left - I added a layer of simple patterned paper to the base & some scrap strips of pink behind the sentiment. Some kit rhinestones placed between each lacy section adds sparkle. There are lots in the kit so you can be generous. Right - I mounted the lacy laser cut onto some which card (scraps from the kit), popped the 'you make life brighter sentiment' from design then popped it onto a Misty Moonlight card base. Lots of bling from the kit on this one too. Here's a closer look. So that's my take on the Notes of Cheer kit. Add a kit to your next order and try some of them or go with your own. Pin this pic on Pinterest for easy finding later. Thanks for visiting today. Pop back soon for more stamping ideas & related shenanigans. Leave a comment if you have any questions or would like more information. Happy stamping & inky wishes Di PS: Almost forgot - watch Sara Douglass, SU CEO make the kit cards to see how easy they are & to follow along if you like.
