This 'Pratt + Paper & Ralph' Pucci Exhibit is Sure to Amaze
The tags were seen on the blog, The New Victorian Rualist by James Snowden of Finders Keepers Market. So I followed his source, Shane Crawford, and found more tags and had to post all of them. Ralph Lauren does it right. These tags are like little pieces of art. There is even a beach passes that has been turned into a tag. Enjoy! double knots in the string unusual die cuts at the top of the tag double holes multiple tags wire attached to string different strings the size of the grommet the top stitching in red the rope the shapes the color combinations I saved my hang tags when I first was out of college, but cleaned them out in one of my sweeps. Now I can just view other peoples' collections. But there is nothing like the touch of the real thing...
This unique rubbing of "Worm Guy" measures approximately 10 by 29 inches. He has been made with gold/or silver heelball on black paper produced specifically for brass rubbing. He will arrive ready for mounting and framing This rubbing is of Ralph Hamsterley d. 1518. He is buried at Oddington, Oxfordshire, Great Britain. This is without a doubt the most gruesome of the shroud brasses erected. Many times these brasses were erected during the lifetime of the individual. Ralph Hamsterley was a priest and rector of Oddington. He is unique in that he had at least 4 brasses made to commemorate himself. He was a scholar and spent most of his life at Oxford and obtained the Master of the University College. I think the lucky owner of this particular brass will have a unique conversational piece for their home. Brass rubbings are done by stretching a linen rag paper over the deeply etched monumental brass that is usually found at the gravesite. After securing the paper, heelball (a very hard wax) is rubbed vigorously over the paper surface to get an exact copy of the brass plate. A single rubbing can take from 2 hours to 2 days to complete depending in it's size, condition, and complexity.
