[8" x 8" square print of “Awaken the Sacred" digital artwork on uncoated 100lb. cover paper (270 GSM), signed, and packaged in water protective slip for shipping] *Note that frame is not included Although it may not be a point of constant awareness, every aspect of life is sacred. It is all a beautiful expression of life illuminated by Grace. There is a divine quality in everything and everyone beyond the material world. Beyond the mind and judgment. Beyond duality and interpretation. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Day to day life may appear ordinary, but as we fully open ourselves to the sacredness beneath the surface, we stand in awe of its power. When we recognize Spirit around us, we connect with our true nature of bliss. We move toward love and away from fear. Our gratitude and joy expand. We recognize how all of life is a gift and worries begin to loosen their grip. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Opening the door to the sacred isn’t always about doing anything different; It’s a subtle shift. The sound of rain while drinking a warm cup of tea or coffee, the calming feeling of a deep breath of air, the warm sunshine on your face as you step outside, the sound of birds singing in the distance are all opportunities to tune in. When we mindfully bring our attention into the moment, even the everyday activities of life become infused with magic. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ But how do we step out of the constant mental chatter to recognize these moments? Gentle reminders, practices, rituals, and introspection do wonders to nurture this perspective. It can even become a new habit. Accessing the sacred is a personal experience that may look and feel different to everyone. Some people may use traditional methods of yoga, prayer, and meditation. Others may find that state while surfing or cooking or spending time in nature. You can enjoy experimenting for yourself! If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me. Love, Ansley

Sing, sing, sing! I want my students to experience beautiful, in-tune singing and I am always on the lookout for songs with solos. I know students are more successful in pitch matching when they sing unaccompanied and have opportunities to sing alone. While I use several songs with solos in the primary grades, I don't use as many in the older grades. Here is one that has been very successful with my older students. I often start with several knots tied in the rope so that a few students are singing the solo, (which cuts down on the initial fear factor for the singers.) I learned this song from my wonderful Level III teacher, Liz Arcaro. Once a student has sung a solo (or duet, or trio, depending on how many knots I tie in the rope,) they go to a barred instrument and accompany with a simple bourdon on C and G. What are some of your favorite songs with solos?

(via) Gotta love ancient wisdom. And who doesn't love the idea of building the new, and being free from the confines of the les-than-awesome past?! Well, sometimes I have found I can refine the past as I build the new. And that is the best kind of magic! When I first started getting serious about building the feng shui'd concepts that were swirling in my mind into something more integrated and real, I needed to find a way to look beyond the past and the past ways I had done things. I needed to take a leap into a world
