A Christmas history of our family...
When I saw the challenge on the CAS-ual Friday blog I knew that I had to make a card for this week's challenge 'Congratulations'. So I tried to make one yesterday evening. After finishing the card I wasn't really happy with the result. It was a bit too simple. But lying in bed a new idea came up in my mind and before having breakfast this morning I made another card and I'm really satisfied with that one! By the way, is this what they call addiction? I will show you both cards and you can decide which one you like better. For both cards I used papers from Simple Stories Summer Fresh. For the first card I die-cut some hexagons and put them in two rows on the card. I stamped a sentiment from Clearly Besotted Stamps and finished the card by splattering some glimmer mist. First time I show a card with splatters on my blog. I love the effect of splatters and admire cards on the internet, but I didn't dare using it myself. Hard job to do and it left me with splatters all over my desk... Okay, here is card #1 For the second card (which I have linked up to the CFC blog) I die cut a frame in the upper layer with paper from Summer Fresh. I punched two holes and added eyelets. On the card base I stamped 'congrats' from the PTI 'On the Farm' set in different colours. Last but not least I added twine. Enjoy your weekend and thanks for coming by! p.s. Hi and welcome! Our sketch hostess this week over at Freshly Made Sketches is Narelle Farrugia and she has a great sketch for us. Here's what I did with it: I had need of a birthday card for my son, who would have been turning 24 this week. Even though he's not here anymore, I still make him a birthday card, like I did for nearly all of the 21 years he was here (I started card-making seriously when he was about 4). Instead of circles, I had the idea to use triangles for the card and then came the challenge of choosing colours. Originally I went with various shades of gray/blues but it looked too dull, so I pulled out a new Altenew colour, Tanzanite and paired that with Enchanted Gold. After stamping and die-cutting the triangles, I stamped the sentiment and then covered it with a scrap of paper before flicking on some Enchanted Gold ink and some blue/gold paint. I arranged the triangles, popping some up with foam tape and then finished the card with some clear droplets. Thanks for visiting. I weekenden den 12.-13. marts var jeg med til Scrapbooking Convention i Middelfart. Denne gang både som siddende scrapper og som designer for Riddersholm Design, hvor jeg om lørdagen havde layoutkursus for 21 søde og dygtige kursister. Trods min manglende stemme, og med assistance fra Linda, fik vi klaret os igennem layoutet. Jeg tror og håber, at de fleste nåede at blive næsten færdige. Jeg beklager at jeg kun har mobilfotos af layoutet - det røg med til Riddersholm Designs Shop ;) Vi brugte papirer fra Newport serien. På layoutet skulle vi distresse, distresse med sværte, embosse og tør-embosse, stemple, bruge paste og stencils, punche sjuskede kanter mm. Vi byggede layoutet op lag-på-lag med papir, vellum, fiskenet, chipboards mm. Chipboard fra Wycinanka pyntede vi med paste eller Wax Paste. Vi pyntede kanter forskellige stede med blondebånd. Vi embossede Wycinanka pynt og tørembossede et område, hvorpå vi stemplede med baggrundsstempel bagefter. Jeg håber at alle havde nogle gode timer, jeg synes i var super dygtige, alle sammen, garvede og nybegyndere i én stor flok. Jeg hyggede mig - og fik mig talt varm også :) 1000 tak fordi i deltog på mit kursus - det gør mig rigtig glad :) *Jette*
