For example, the Egyptian Goddess of the sky, Hathor is shown with a solar disk indicating her area of specialty; or the Hindu Goddess Aditi of India, her specialty being to keep the light burning that illuminates all life and ensures consciousness. She gave birth to the universe and all heavenly bodies. The Japanese Shinto Goddess, Amaterasu means "great shining heaven". As head of the Japanese pantheon, her emblem, the rising sun is strong symbolism and appears on the Japanese flag. Brigid, the Celtic fire Goddess, is a solar deity who embodies attributes of light, inspiration and all which is connected with fire. The Hungarian Goddess Xatel-Ekwa is related to horses as she rode them through the air - not unlike many other ancient European Sun Goddesses. This handcrafted piece was inspired by the symbolism of the Sun, the maker of Souls (sol) and light within each per-sun. We are little suns. Our Great Sun speaks to our mitochondria in code that revitalises us, upgrades us, and renews us. Its spectrum of colours from the red and golden frequencies of dawn to twilight of the evening, is code that sets us in rhythm, telling us when to rise, repair or rest. The language of the sun is written in in our souls. It is a literal saviour that lives within us. This piece is a homage to the Sun; a symbol for you honouring our collective yearning to return to its rhythm. My reproduction Abundance sculptures are created from my original, hand cast and hand finished in my studio. They are filled with this Symbolism, created with me paying homage to this principle long forgotten in our modern society. 14cm PLEASE NOTE: Colours on your monitor may differ from actual piece.
Assemblage artist Garret Kane just unveiled this new series of figurative sculptures depicting fractured individuals who appear to merge with the seasons. Each piece was first partially designed using digital sculpting software called Zbrush, and then 3D-printed components were affixed to wood, rocks, leaves, and other materials to reach the final forms seen here. Obrigada. :: Sofia _ Sömmer's image is composed of the faces of women from my day-to-day life. They are portraits of friends who define the brand. They give it a face. Personality and body. They are not agency models. They are models in my life. These women wear unmatched beauty. Outside, but above all, inside. They are Mothers. Sisters. Friends. Friends of friends.Nurses. Biologists. Students. Designers. Accounts.Ballerinas. Ballet teachers. Artists. They are a complex, vast and whole world. Sweet and kind. Full of tenderness and friendship. When I started Sömmer I wanted it to be beautiful. And natural. No artifices, nor filters.I was looking for an image that conveyed simplicity and calm, like a sunset by the sea. These women are so beautiful to my eyes and it's these same eyes who capture them behind the lens.Seeing is an act of choice and as I see them painted Sömmer. Thank you.:: Sofia

Food is such a unique and fun theme to use as jewelry. Why food jewelry? Well, who doesn't like food? I'm a foodie and my love of food inspires me to make these delightful fake food miniatures. Food has a lot of variety when it comes to textures and colors, which makes clay sculpting more challenging.

Glass artist Kim KototamaLune creates ethereal sculptures that resemble abstracted organic shapes and faces. She builds delicate glass grids without molds, which she then works into sculptural form and displays in darkened rooms. This presentation allows light to permeate, which both illuminates the sculptures from within and casts dramatic shadows on the surrounding walls. The artist was born in Vietnam and now lives and works in France, and has studied multiple languages. Cultural identity, the origins of life, and in-between spaces play into her inspirations. More
