Sorry this is so late everyone! I scheduled it to automatically post this morning, but put in the wrong date! OOPS! Welcome to SEPTEMBER! That means it's already time for another Mojo Madness Contest! To participate, just make a card using this sketch and leave a comment on this post with a link to your project by Monday, September 8 at Noon Mountain Time (There's a clock on the sidebar with the official Poetic Artistry time). Once all the entries are in, I'll pick the TWO entries that I think are the mojo-est of them all. The two winners will be announced on Tuesday, September 9th and each will receive their choice of ANY Verve stamp set! Sound like fun? Well, let's get started! If you upload your cards to SCS, please use keyword Mojo51 (no space between Mojo and 51) so we can see them in one place. As always, you can use any stamps or products your heart desires. My sample card uses more of the yummy new stamps The Cat's Pajamas just released. The stamps are from the Smells Like Cake set, and are just too much fun. I started by stamping my image and coloring it in with Copics. I decided I wanted a little more dimension, so I stamped the image again, outlined in gray and then trimmed out my colored cakes and popped them up on pop dots over the top. Next I stamped the Do I Smell Cake sentiment and the little sprinkles stamp all around the edges, coloring with markers here and there, and adding Stardust Stickles. The top awning and the purple mat are both embossed with the Cuttlebug polka dot border embossing strip. I then just added some Stickles to each dot for even more sparkle. I stamped the border stamp from the set down the two sides of the card and then added a white satin bow. All patterned paper is from the BasicGrey Eva collection. Wow! It's already week 10 of Mojo Monday? I think that calls for something cool for this week's prize. How about the winner of this week's sketch challenge gets a Verve Visual stamp set of their choice? (Thoughtful Phrases, Fancy Florals, Winter Wonder, Seasonal Circles, Wonderful Wishes or Starlight Starbright) For this special round of Mojo, I must receive a link to your square card using the following sketch by 10PM Mountain (Midnight ET) Saturday November 10. I will announce a winner on Sunday. To be eligible for the prize you must have a shipping address in the US or Canada and cannot be a current member of the Verve Visual Design Team. The rules: 1. Your card must be square. 2. You must follow the sketch. 3. Have fun! Easy enough? :) My card uses my new set by Flourishes called Flourished Christmas. If you haven't checked them out, you should. Their stamps are even more beautiful in person than they are on their website. And they ship super fast and have been so helpful and supportive of me in my Verve adventure. And for $12.50 this set was a no brainer! I absolutely love this reindeer. Anywho, on with the card... I stamped the reindeer in Versafine Sepia Brown and colored with Prismacolors and Gamsol. Oh, and I added a hint of sparkle to the hooves with a clear Spica glitter pen. Next I inked up just the antler flourishes with VersaMark and embossed with Irridescent Ice. So sparkly! :) I then added a little shading around the animal with a grey tombow marker and sponged the edges with creamy caramel, close to cocoa and chocolate chip inks. Next I stamped Rejoice in Cranberry Crisp and sponged around the edges with the same three shades of ink. These layers are both matted on Chocolate Chip. The red background paper is from the Basic Grey Figgy Pudding paper pad and the partial Cool Caribbean circle is cut and embossed with my Nestabilities Circle die and then I inked up just the antlers from the deer with Cool Caribbean and stamped around the circle as a background. The knotted bow is tied using a wide satin May Arts ribbon, and the card measures 5.25" square. Hope you have fun creating with this sketch. If you upload to SCS, use keyword Mojo10. :)

Hi, I’m back after a break of a few weeks. My daughter has major surgery in another city and I went with her as her support. I took some white die-cuts with me and some ink cubes and spent a little time ink-blending. The flowers used in this card are some of those die-cuts. This card uses the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches where this week our sketch hostess is Kim Singdahlsen. I wasn’t feeling very crafty after a busy and stressful few weeks so this card isn’t my best but it’ll do. Thanks for visiting. A sketch can be a great starting point when you have the urge to create something .. .. but haven't got the foggiest idea where to start, or how you want your finished creation to look. So in the hope of providing a bit of inspiration when these foggy moments occur I am putting together a sketch library to act as a reference point. As I create more sketches they will be posted here .. .. .. feel free to use them if you would like to. These are my square sketches, but I have recently started a rectangular one too and you will find those on a separate tab. Don't forget that each sketch can be used in four ways. Welcome to another week of Mojo! This Monday we've got a very special challenge for you! Today's mojo sketch is doubling as one of the challenges in this week's Stampin' Out Alzheimer's (SOA) event. A small donation (see link in the sidebar) gets you access to this week-long virtual stamping event, which has all sorts of challenges and chances to win some fabulous prizes. All proceeds from this event will go directly to the Alzheimer's Association, which is a cause dear to my heart. The association provides valuable information, education and support for Alzheimer's patients and their families, as well as funding research to find a cure for this frightening disease. One of my good friends, Jen Tapler, founded this event. Her dad has been rapidly progressing through the stages of Alzheimer's, and having watched those stages first-hand with my great-grandma as a young child, and more recently my grandfather, my heart breaks for her and the grandfather this disease is cheating her son out of. So if you have a few dollars to spare, please particpate in this fundraiser. Not only can you win some fabulous prizes, but you can make a DIFFERENCE! We'll play the sketch here on the blog just like normal. Make a project using the provided sketch and post it on your blog or online gallery and then leave the link to your photo in the Mr. Linky form below. Hi, everyone, I’m back with this week’s MFT Wednesday Sketch Challenge! Are you ready? Here’s this week’s sketch. All of the details about the sketch challenge are available on the MFT Challenge & Inspiration blog as well as in the weekly newsletter. The MFT Design Team will be on hand to provide plenty of inspiration to get you started. As soon as I saw this sketch I knew exactly what I was going to do! Abstract Art was made for this sketch—or this sketch was made for Abstract Art, one or the other! I stamped two of the images repeatedly on Sweet Tooth card stock in a rainbow pattern, with, top to bottom, Electric Red dye ink, Orange Zest dye ink, Daffodil dye ink, Sour Apple dye ink, Blue Yonder dye ink, and Grape Jelly dye ink, then popped it up on a Sweet Tooth card base with foam mounting tape. A CAS design like this needs a CAS sentiment so I cut Thanks & Hello Die-namics from Black Licorice card stock three times, adhered them together for strength and dimension, adhered it to the card, and it was done! Hey everyone! It's mojo time again. This week I'm trying out Mr. Linky so we can have clickable links to all the entries. To play along, just make a card or project using the sketch and then use the Mr. Linky form below to post a link to your photo. Please link directly to your blog post or gallery page where your photo can be found and not to your generic blog url. For example I would submit a link that looks something like... http://poeticartistry.blogspot.com/2008/12/mojo-monday-week-65.html and not just http://poeticartistry.blogspot.com. There is no time limit - you can play any week at any time. The keyword for online galleries is MOJO65. My sample card uses stamps from the Elegant Christmas and the Deck the Hall sets by The Cat's Pajamas. I used the Labels 2 Nestabilities for my image panel and mat, then stamped the string and ornaments from Deck the Hall in Memento Tuxedo Black and colored with Copics. I added some Diamond Glaze to the ornaments to make them glossy and then tied a bow around the panel. The background paper is from the Memory Box Gingercake collection and I embossed the sentiment from Elegant Christmas, then rounded the corners of the panels and card base to soften the look.

Howdy!! Today I'm sharing a card I made for Stamping Bella Bellariffic Friday using another amazing MOJObella sketch. And this is my take on it. I stuck pretty rigidly to the sketch and featured one of my favourite stamp sets - The Chicks who Couldn't Even. Coloured with Copic Markers Chick - Y11, Y13, Y15, Y19. Starting left, the new colors are: Powder Pink, Berry Burst, Lemon Lime Twist, Tranquil Tide, and Fresh Fig. These cards are 3" x 3". Perfect for gift enclosures, or package tags. I cut the card stock with our Bold Butterfly Framelits Dies, item #138135. This two piece die set is sticking around another year. The little Designer Series Paper strips measure 3" x 7/8". They come in the upcoming 12" x 12" Fresh Florals Designer Series Paper Stack. The sentiment stamped in matching ink colors is also new - Wood Words. (Available June 1, 2017.)
