Tralee asked for a The Office themed party for her 13th birthday. One thing about my kids getting older is their appreciation for entertainment I favor. It's actually quite fun, so when my teen asked for this particular party to celebrate her birthday, I was all too happy to oblige. I think it turned out pretty cute, considering we put it together in less than a week. Here's short video of what we did: Our first order of business was coming up with an invite. All we did was find a Dunder Mifflin logo online, drag and drop it onto a pages/word document and select an office looking font for the verbiage. I removed our actual address for blog purposes. We wanted to get decor items next. We wanted it to look like Jim and Dwight were the party planning committee for Tralee's birthday. We found this kit below on Amazon and it was exactly what we were looking for! Beer me some perfect decor please! Click the picture below to find it on Amazon. Here's what it looked like when we got it all up. So funny! We also wanted to hand out some party favors, so we decided to have a Dundie Award Ceremony at the end of the party and give everyone their own Dundie. Tralee awarded people things that they accomplished during the party like the award for wearing "The blackest shirt" or "the most sentimental gift giver." It was pretty funny! We went with these awards for the Dundies. They come in a set of 12. Click on photo to find them on Amazon: We also had a table with The Office stickers that we encouraged everyone to take at least a few. Since decorating Hydro Flasks, phone cases, computers, and school binders with stickers is totally legit right now, we didn't have any trouble getting rid of these: These are also good: As for the food and other decor, we had a lot of fun coming up with ideas! Pictures and free prints below. We found the simplest white sheet cake at Walmart, removed the one flower that was on it, and used pink icing for the letters. We couldn't find a red chiclet for the center, so we went with a red starburst instead. More food ideas below: We also ordered pizza, printed and put this logo on the pizza boxes: We had this on the front door when the kids walked in: This in the bathroom: And this on our storage closet in the basement: For food labels and prints like this the photos below or this link for a FREE DOWNLOAD of our The Office Party prints. It will take you to a Box zip file with the prints we made for the party. All of them are sized 8x10. I hope this helps you plan your own The Office party! It was seriously so fun to put together and really easy too!

OMG. I'm sooo tired. Exhausted. But at least, it's over! All the big rush is OVER! It was my man's birthday the last week of august, the back-to-school for my big girl (she just started kindergarten), her birthday (a family supper last weekend, her real birthday on friday and the kids birthday party yesterday) and on top of that, she had a big allergic reaction on thursday at school, she got bite by a mosquito on her cheek and it got so puffy and swollen, the school got scared and called me. I had to go to the doctor rush rush that evening to get a prescription for EPIPEN and for Benadryl so they can have the authority to do the administration of the medecine in case it happens again. But now she's ok :) It was a crazy 2 weeks to be honest. It was really hard to deal with all the new routine, on top of all the birthdays. Now it's OVER and I can BREATHE! I was really proud of all the stuff I did for my daughter's 5th birthday party! It took a lot of time, but I was really happy with the result! Same with my daughters! A lot of DIY (thanks Pinterest) but wow it was worth it! And a big big thank you to my friend Genevieve who helped me a lot to do the decorations :) Here's a few pictures ! CREEPER TOSS This one is my favorite DIY project! I saw it on Pinterest, I found it was really cool! I also created those little pockets with red and white felt, rice, glue gun and a black Sharpie. The green panel I bought it at Michael's for like 8$ CDN, it was already folded like that. BALLOONS : I did also a lot of balloons ... I used colored balloons, differents ducktape colors (bought at Michael's, pretty expensive to be honest, it was like 7 or 8$ per roll... I had to buy 3! I also bought some crepe streamers for the arms for about 1-2$ per roll (used that also for other stuffs!) Here's Reuben the pig and an Enderman : Here's a CREEPER GASP My favorite one, a Mooshroom ! The Spider (and a little black cardboard with ducktape for the eyes, just for a little Enderman face) GIFT BAGS For the gift bags, I bought/made : - See through gift bags at Walmart (2$ for the pack), - 7 boxes Minecraft Blind Box Serie 3 at Toys r Us for about 4$ each, - 7 Hershey's chocolate bar at the dollar store and I printed some Chocolate Bar Wrapper here. Just had to glue them on the chocolate bar! The kids were so excited to eat Minecraft Chocolate Bar ;) - Minecraft Bookmarks that I printed here. I bought some crafting stuff to do the strings for 2$ at Walmart. - "Thank You For Coming" paper that I got here So it came up max 5-6$ per bag, thats pretty good I find. Previous birthdays I was going to the dollar store, but it always end up costing at least 10$ per bag in order to have something decent. The kids seems really happy ! The food table I had so much fun doing this! I had a hard time finding some nice FREE printable food labels.. They were either expensive, of just not really nice... I could have done them myself, but I didn't had the time to do it this time. I found some really nice one on another Blog (Fiveinsix). She made them herself and shared them on her blog, so thank you very much! I made 2-3 myself for the one that was missing.. The only thing I didn't do, it's the cupcakes and the cake. I have zero talent so thank you very much to Christine-et-gourmantines.com for those nice goodies :) I bought all the things at Bulk Barn and the grocery store. The diamond sword were really popular! For the grass, my mom made some brownies with chocolate frosting with food coloring. NETHER PORTAL I think this one was the more popular with the kids. It was super easy and cheap to do! I got the idea from Pinterest, I just bought 2 different purple crepe streamers and a black one, and I used construction paper for the NETHER banner. Happy Birthday Banner I also found a nice free printable banner here. I printed the letters, cut them and glue them on a thin cardboard (the paper where rolling up, so I had to find something more strong) and I used some green rope and a glue gun to fix the banner. Pretty simple! OTHER DECORATIONS I also put other regular decorations, I used a lot of crepe streamers in the Minecraft color theme. * Sorry for the bad lighting for the one on the window! ;) * And now, for the games! I had a lot of fun to do that too! Minecraft Mask I bought a big black cardboard (same one as the Creeper Toss!) and cut both side in 3 (it was making perfect squares) for a total of 6. I also bought a pack of wood sticks at Walmart (I used the glue gun to fix the stick on the back of the cardboard) *I used the middle of the cardboard to avoid any waste, to do the Enderman, the face next to the spider before* I just used a knife to do 2 holes for the eyes. I also cut a lot of little squares construction papers of differents colors and put them in differents bowls. I cut them the size for a perfect fit 8x8 like the template. I bought 6 small glue stick and a pack of wood sticks at Walmart. I made a table just for that, and it was a big hit! I printed the templates for the faces (I can't find the website, I'm sorry! But it can easily be found on google images for all the faces you want!) And for the last game... The Little Piggy! It was also a big hit !! Easy to make (just research pictures on Google Image, or just look at mine hehe!) and really fun! I used felt and glue! Super fun for the kids!

Carter never ceases to surprise me. This year when we started brainstorming about her birthday I had a few pre-conceived notions. Most of them involved glitter, paint, and something very girly. Carter on the other hand had another idea. Wipeout. She loves the show and looks forward to watching every time she visits Roxi and Pops. I'm always up for a challenge and set out to plan the best darn Wipeout party my backyard could hold! I wasn't sure which direction to head but decided to draw inspiration from the famous "Big Red Balls". Her invitation (minus our address and phone number to protect the innocent *smile*)... From there it was surprising how easily everything came together. First up, a table full of goodies... I especially loved the way her cake with name banner turned out... Carter gave everything her seal of 6 year old approval... And then it was time for the fun to begin! We set up our backyard with a mini Wipeout course (age appropriate for our little contestants). Giant slide... and Big Red Balls were a must! We also added lot's of bubbles for good measure... Once everyone had arrived we gathered all the munchkin's... So "Big Nate" (who is a really good sport) could show them how it was done! First you plummet down the giant slide... Then it's on to the Big Red Balls... Next up the Soapy Swamp where you dig until you find a ring... Then a weave through the crooked noodles, just watch out for those crazy hitters (Carter demo's this one)... If you manage to make it through give yourself a big pat on the back! The kids couldn't wait for their turn... They each had a chance to run the course on their own and it was highly entertaining... A couple of great wipeouts made things even more fun... After they all got the hang of things it was a free for all on the course... My favorite part of the day was the giant smile that was plastered on Carter's face every time I saw her... I think it's safe to say she and her buddies had a great time... Even the littlest guests found something to make them giggle... But you don't have to take my word for it...check out our day in motion (you may want to pause the music at the bottom before watching)... When everyone was all wiped out we headed over for a little cake... Note to self: Those fancy "sparkler" candles take a realllllly long time to light... FINALLY! Make a wish... It was one of those really great days. Because if you ask me there is no better reason to celebrate than life. A big thanks to all of the special people who shared the afternoon with us... I'll leave you with a few more smiles... The end. *A big thanks to Brenda Marafioto (aka Rylie's mom) for donating her photography skills and helping document our day!

Christopher had a Super Mario party for his 6th birthday. He wanted to play video games with his friends so we invited five of his best buds over to play, eat pizza and enjoy cake! The decor was both from Party City and homemade. The birthday banner and little decals I found at Party City. The coins were homemade. I bought small yellow plates from the Dollar Tree and cut out yellow construction paper to tape inside. Super simple! The party room The tablecloth and plates are from Party City. I bought plain napkins and red forks from the Dollar Tree to go along with the theme and to save a few bucks vs. buying the themed ones. Every place setting had a mini 1up 7up, a Yoshi egg and either a Luigi or Mario hat along with a mustache. The hats and the mustaches are from Party City. The mini 7ups are from Walmart which I then glued on a 1up mushroom. I made the Yoshi eggs with white easter eggs and drew green spots on them with a green sharpie. The Yoshi eggs were filled with Starbursts. Party Table For the food we served pizza and, to go along with the theme, Piranha Plant fruit kabobs. The boys loved them and they were super simple to make! Piranha Plant Fruit Kabobs Piranha Plant Fruit Kabobs Another fun, simple and cheap party item are these Mario star balloons. The balloons are gold mylar balloons from the Dollar Tree. Yes they are only $1 each! I added black electrical tape (found in the garage) as the eyes. So simple and fun! The star balloons also became part of the favor as every boy went home with one! I ordered this cake from Walmart. The candles are from Party City and I added the eyes to the stars with a black sharpie. Christopher loved his cake! To hold the favors I made these Mario party bags. The bags are from the Dollar Tree and are plain red bags which run 8 for $1. I printed a Mario logo and cut out the circle and the letter M so that the red would show through. Homemade Mario Party Bags Inside the bags I put various items including Mario popups (Party City), a Yoshi egg (homemade - see above), Mario stickers (Party City) and a Mario figurine (Target). Then I also added a few other toys and candies. The best part was that Christopher had an awesome time with his friends and loved every moment!
