About The Colour Blockade is a colourful top down knit sweater. Inspired by the 80’s ski jackets, this knitted sweater is a creative outlet to show off your colour skills. Choose different coloured yarns to create your own knitted look, or keep it simple with some pops of colour. Colour Blockade Knit Up Zip Up is worked from the top down, beginning with the collar, and then working the yoke down to the armholes. The fronts and back are then worked separately before joining at the underarms to continue the rest of the body. The hem is worked with an elastic installed, giving it that oversized puffer look that is popular with sports jackets. Sleeves are picked up and worked in the round to the cuffs, where the elastic is installed into the cuff. The zipper is sewn in from the collar and stitched down to complete the garment. This pattern comes with a PDF sheet attached to figure out your colour work beforehand. There is also a guide to using stitch fiddle to create your design. I wasn't sure how these shaving cream rain clouds were going to turn out, but they were beautiful! I love any experiment that's easy enough for my kids to do themselves. And I also love when I get to use a rainbow assortment of colours to create something beautiful. So this was a winner! This activity was easy to put together and allowed us to learn a little bit about weather. Although, my girls were definitely more interested in the hands on part, not so much the learning. But what can you do? Check out our video on How to

This cool pattern is free with your purchase of Plump Superchunky yarn for this pattern by Mrs Moon! Just let us know in the Notes section of your order and we will email you the pattern. Hunky Dory is a two-colour brioche knit with a very sloppy fit and fabulous voluminous sleeves. It’s knitted from the top down in the round and comes in sizes S through to XXL. It’s knitted on 12mm needles so although it sounds as though it could be a heavy knit it’s actually incredibly light and squishy. The pattern includes videos on how to set up the brioche, the brioche increases and decreases (at the cuff). If you’ve never done two colour brioche before, it really isn’t difficult and you can certainly give it a first go with this jumper but it’s probably not for a total beginner! The jumper is a very loose fit. We’d really recommend checking out the different size measurements if you want a closer fitting garment or are considering sizing up. We’ve had lots of positive feedback about this sweater already. It uses two colours of Plump Superchunky. Shown here in Lemon Curd & Pavlova and Malt Loaf & Gooseberry Fool. Feel free to make your own combos, or check out our kits with our recommended combos here! You will need: Plump Superchunky: Main colour (shown in Lemon Curd): 4 (5, 5, 6, 6) Contrast colour (shown in Pavlova): 3 (4, 4, 5, 5) 12mm circular needles (60cm and longer as required) 10mm circular needles or dpns for neck and cuffs. Last Copies! Colour is one of the essential elements of many branding designs. It can help give an identity personality and warmth, express emotion, communicate messages in an unconscious and subtle way and it can keep or navigate the viewer’s interest, drawing the eye and making elements stand out. This book explores colour palettes in graphic design that surprise, engage, challenge and grab our attention – the combinations that maybe shouldn’t work but just do. These are palettes that break the established rules and laws we have been taught about colour theory and remind us that colour can be fun as well as meaningful.
