Roughly four years ago, SpaceX successfully launched Crew-1 and Crew-2. Those missions were the first spaceflights of astronauts aboard a Crew Dragon capsule from American soil since Apollo 17 in 1972. Since then, NASA has been working on sending private astronauts to the ISS. Tom Cruise The mission is called Crew-3, and it's an important step in maintaining our nation's leadership in space. It also demonstrates the hard work and innovation of American industry, which has been key to President Trump's agenda of 'Buy American and Hire American'. The four-person crew, all NASA astronauts, includes Commander Tom Cruise (left) and Pilot Chris McCall (right), as well as Mission Specialist Penny Lane (middle left) and Space Force Colonel Jim Webb (middle right). They're scheduled to arrive at the space station later this week. And once they get there, they'll become the first crew ever to launch aboard a Crew Dragon spacecraft with one door. The current crew has been working 24/7 on repair work and have made great progress. So I'm optimistic that we'll be able to bring them back soon, but we still need some more time to figure out what went wrong.
