This week I tried something new with the vocabulary in the story. I got the idea at a First Grade Conference in December. The student writes the vocabulary word in the middle of the sheet and then there are four things to do with the word. We completed two of the boxes together as a class and they finished the last two boxes independently. The kiddos sure had a great grasp of the vocabulary after this. Emotions are the invisible currents that constantly flow through our beings, shaping our actions, thoughts, perceptions, and dreams. These feelings, though intangible, have a profound effect on our physical bodies, influencing our organs and systems like energetic waves. It's why we may feel a tightening in our stomachs before speaking in public or experience a headache when facing tasks we dread. Even though emotions are invisible to others, they profoundly alter our demeanor, self-worth, and decision-making. Each person experiences emotions uniquely, navigating their own path based on their individual perception and understanding. Every action evokes a distinct feeling, resonating not only with our five senses but also with our consciousness. Moreover, the majority of our emotional memories are encoded within our cells as cellular memory. THE MASK Emotional wounds can be incredibly painful, often leading us to conceal them behind masks we wear in social settings. These masks become our shield, our facade to the world. When you find yourself saying phrases like "This is just who I am" or "I'm not cut out for this," it's important to pause and reflect: Is this belief truly coming from my authentic self? Or, is it a reaction to past hurts that have instilled fear within me? It's during moments of fear and insecurity that we tend to don our masks. They seem like a refuge from pain and rejection, promising protection. But in reality, they trap us. Many of these masks originate from childhood, shaped by early experiences and teachings about how to navigate the world. We wear them for so long that they blend into our perceived identity. As we mature, we may begin to realize that these masks are spiritual cages, hindering our true selves. Through self-awareness and introspection, we can identify and shed these masks, embracing our authentic selves and living more fully. For centuries, alchemists have delved into the concept of reclaiming one's true destiny, highlighting the timeless nature of this human struggle. These ancient healers worked to realign their patients with their inherent purpose. The journey toward authenticity takes time and effort, but the rewards are immeasurable. However, talent isn't just about specific abilities like singing or painting, as commonly understood in modern society.
