The best sale of the year is right around the corner; are you getting excited for Sale-A-Bration? I know I am. This week I was able to play with the new Best of Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set. It was fun to see the stamps from years past. from Kasia J. Stampin' Up! Concept Artist On this card, I used Old Olive and Crushed Curry Stampin’ Write Markers to ink up the flowers and the “For you” greeting. (The Little Labels Punch Pack has the perfect punch for the greeting!) The only stamp I used on my projects that isn’t in the Best of Sale-A-Bration Stamp Set is the Dictionary Background Stamp. I LOVE this stamp so much! The Smoky Slate dictionary page was the perfect backdrop for my flowers. I also used a Stampin’ Spritzer to turn the doily Smoky Slate. I also made a small “Bliss” tag to add to a gift or a scrapbook page—or I might hang it from a jar on my desk. (I can’t decide!) I love using neutral colors on my projects and giving them a pop of color—as I did with the Calypso Coral. Then I stamped the flower image in Gold Metallic Encore ink to add a bit of shine.
Bachelor Button or Zinnia? Or perhaps Marigold or some other flower? I really wish I knew. If there's a flower expert out there, could you please advise, or even better--maybe the designer (Tim, are you listening?) can give me the answer. These beauties are one of the six different flower blossoms you get with the new Flower Garden stamp set. I am having so much fun with these, they have amazing detail and I appreciate the fine lines. This tag was made using a page from the Wallflower paper stash, some acrylic paint and distress inks. My technique was to stamp the flowers then fill them in with paint and a tiny brush. I enjoy detail-oriented tasks so this was no bother. I just put on some good tunes and get into the zone. I'm linking to the Wednesday blog challenge at SSS where this week's theme is April Showers/Spring Flowers. In the desert, any flower (even Summer annuals) can bloom this time of year. But the heat will have them dead and gone by June.
It's not often that I make cards but I have to admit it was kind of fun. It gave me the opportunity to play in a short amount of time. I can...
Hi there! Have you seen the newest release from WPlus9? Oh, my goodness, I love so many of the stamp sets and just had to pick up a few to play with. I've been having lots of fun with the Doodle Buds set, using watercolors on my first card. Aren't those flowers fun?! The sentiment is included in the set too! When I was looking at one of the flowers, it reminded me of a butterfly's wing, so I double stamped it a few times for my next card. So simple, colored with Copics and done in about 10 minutes. Gotta love a quick card! My last one uses watercolors too and is very CAS but I love it. I happened to join the band wagon and picked up a set of the Zig, Clean Color Real Brush markers and I am loving them! If you haven't seen WPlus9's new release, I highly recommend checking it out. I'm hoping to be back soon with more cards from this release. Thanks so much for stopping by! ♥
I am joining in this challenge this week: I have always loved the grid challenge and decided to use my solid square stamp from Hero A...
There´s a dubble challenge at CAS Colours & Sketches blog this week! Here´s mine card with the beautiful flower from Uniko Gerbera Thanks!
I hadn't uploaded a card to SplitCoastStampers since last April! I didn't have Wyatt today and took the opportunity to do a challenge and upload my card. The challenge was to confine your "art area" to a space less than two and a half inches square. With this card, I am also continuing my mission to use all of my Stampin' Up! stamps. Both stamps on this card are from the set called "Happy Harmony." I colored the flowers with markers and used the "thumping" technique. (Color with one color, and then lightly "bounce" or "thump" over the colored area with a darker marker.) I embossed the frame with a square Nestability. Edited to add: Here is a simple video I did on this technique. I hope it helps! Thanks so much for stopping by, and I hope you'll come back and visit again soon!
I am so happy to have this Penny Black Stamp called "Softly". First time inked up and coloured with Prismacolor pencils. I started with a box of 12, but soon realised that I needed more colours. I now have the box of 72. I added the May Arts ribbon (don't you just love it!) and sprinkled a few sequins. I don't know what the problem was, but my camera would NOT capture the deep purple colour no matter what setting I used. Kept changing it to blue. Any advice would be welcome. So I am posting 2 pictures ... the first one scanned to try to show the true colour and the second is the photo. This is my entry for the Color Q Challenge. I will also enter it for Penny Black Allsorts Challenge : Anything Goes, Simon Says Wednesday Challenge : Anything Goes and Addicted to Stamps : CAS Challenge. View blog post for supplies
You have probably already caught up with the fact that Penny Black has two new collections of stamps and dies. When I first receive new stamps my head fills with ideas and designs to try and this time
It's time to announce our Weekly Winner and Honorable Mentions! **This is my second post today! If you are looking for my Lawnscaping Challenges post, please scroll down!** Hello there! It's time for another Sparkle and Shine Challenge! This week we are having a sketch challenge based on this sketch: Our sponsor this week is the super fabulous gang at Winnie and Walter! You can win a $25 gift card! Let me start by saying that I struggle with sketch challenges. They really ARE a challenge for me! LOL! I knew I wanted to play with my new WPlus9 Doodle Buds stamp set. This stamp set is pretty much perfection in my book. Perfect for coloring techniques, and a whimsical style which I absolutely adore. I knew as soon as I saw the peeks of this stamp set that I had to have it, and it does not disappoint! I started off by stamping a bunch of flowers and leaves on Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor paper using Versafine Black Onyx ink. Then I colored the images with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers, After they were dry, I diecut them with the coordinating dies. For the different layers on my card, I used the larger frame from new Avery Elle Wonky Stitches die set, and the smaller banner from the Lawn Fawn Stitched Party Banners die set. I cut off the holes from the banner with my paper trimmer, and then ran the banner diecut back through my Big Shot with with Wonky Stitches frame to give the banner the same stitched edge as the other panel. I arranged the blooms where I wanted them, and then before gluing them down, I stamped the stems. The sentiment, from the Doodle Buds stamp set is stamped on a banner die cut from the Avery Elle die set, and then I added some of my favorite Sparkling Clear 4mm and 6mm Sparkling Clear sequins from Pretty Pink Posh to finish things off. Be sure to stop over at the blog to check out all of the challenge details and get lots more inspiration from the design team! Thanks for stopping by! :) Supplies: Stamps: WPlus9 Doodle Buds Dies: WPlus9 Doodle Buds, Avery Elle Wonky Stitches, Lawn Fawn Stitched Party Banners Paper: PTI White, Tim Holtz Distress Watercolor Paper Other: Zig Clean Color Real Brush Pens, Foam Tape, Pretty Pink Posh Sparkling Clear 4mm and 6mm sequins
I love the new baby stamps and dies from Technique Tuesday! You can preorder them now! So sweet and many possibilities to combine them! Thanks!
My card for the Wednesday challenge, Anything goes, on Simon says Stamps blog! I love this stamp from Serendipity Stamps and when I was drinking morning coffee I saw some yellow Birch leaves. Applied Mod Podge on them and placed them to the scene. Winter Fenceline Spring - Summer - Autumn - Winter Set Thanks!
The colour challenge at Connie and Mary this week seemed perfect for my new favourite stamp set, Wild About Flowers. Not a new set, it's new to me so I'm still experimenting with it and the soft pastels conjured up a summer field of flowers. I like soft, dreamy result. Although I intended it to be a birthday card, it could be used for lots of things with this sentiment. Possibly the consumable item I will miss the most once the new catalogue is live, will be candy dots since I've used a lot of them with butterflies! What will you miss? Update: Delighted to be a Top Pick at Create with Connie and Mary Ingredients Card: Blushing Bride, Whisper White Stamps: Wild About Flowers, Papillon Potpourri, Endless Birthday Wishes Inks: Blushing Bride, So Saffron, Mint Macaron, Tuxedo Black Other: Lots of Labels framelits, Elegant Butterfly punch, Blushing Bride baker's twine, Mint Macaron dotty lace ribbon, Softly Falling embossing folder, So Saffron candy dot and brad base, dimensionals, sponges.
It's that time again! I know I mentioned that the new Maja Moodboard is posted the first Tuesday of every month but I have to correct that, since the beginning of the new year it is now the firs SATURDAY of the month. That being said here is the gorgeous Moodboard for February!... I love that the moodboard for February is not your typical pink/red/white color combination (although I do love to scrap pink)...this mood board has such lovely shades of violet/purple/plums with some beautiful neutrals. The moodboard is based on colors in the 'Ska vi ta en Fika?' collection. I used mostly papers from the above collectin but added a little bit in from the Vintage Spring Basics collection as well (striped background for the card) and a little bit of Vintage Autumn Basics (clocks). The roses I used on this card are from an old package of Prima flowers I had in my stash, mixed with small white roses from Dusty Attic Designs. The vine flourish design was cut from Maja papers using the Cheery Lynn Fanciful Flourish die cut. I created a shabby-chic frame design for my card title with a Dusty Attic Design frame and some white pearl 3D paint (I used Scribbles brand found in the T-shirt section of Michaels Craft Shop). Here is an even closer view of the frame. I usually like to machine stitch on my cards but I ran out of the heavy duty upholstery thread I ususally use for stitching on my cards and layouts, so I had to cheat and draw on the stitch design with a brown pen. Maja Design papers used on this project: ~ Ska vi ta en Fika (Favoriter, Blommor på bordet, Våffla m björnbärssylt-bs, Söders höjder - bs) ~ Vintage Spring Basics (8th of April-bs) ~ Vintage Autumn Basics (XVI) - clocks ~ Life in the Country (Sowing Seeds-bs) I hope you get a chance to play along with this months moodboard challenge at Maja Design, there is a beautiful Maja Design collection (of your choice) up for grabs as the prize each month! You can find the challenge information HERE. You can also see more inspiration from our talented design team there, to get your creativity going! Thanks so much for stopping by today and for all the lovely comments, you guys are the best! xo xo

Are you one of those people who works better under pressure? I am!!! I have been busy with my December Daily, catching up on layouts and cleaning like a mad-woman! Here is a layout that I wanted to share with you. It is of my son turkey hunting. I used Authentique-Thankful Collection Kit! I added some embellishments I had on hand. To get the brown affect on my wood veneer feathers, I pressed them to my slightly dry ink pad. Inking, layering papers and using foam tape for added dimension have been my go to's for some time. Just recently, I started getting out my sewing machine to add a stitch or two on my layouts. xoxoxoxo,

Hello my dear friends! I just got back from my vacation to Rome. What a lovely city. We just wondered around the little streets, ate a lot of ice cream and pizza. We also visited Vatican and St. Peter's Basilica. I was so mesmerised by that beautiful art there. So amazed by the talent they had and how they were able to build those beautiful, huge buildings with the equipment they had in those days. This trip was a our first vacation just the two of us, my hubby and me, and we decided that no crafty blogs for me and no work emails for him. So, I am a bit behind visiting you but I'll come visit you soon. One amazing thing happened here in blogland while I was in Rome. I started my blog in last August but I had followed through Youtube some crafters prior that and one of those persons is Therese. I loved here tutorials already back then she is one of those first blogists that I started to follow. I adore her cards, they are so cleverly designed and her colouring is amazing. What comes to my colouring skills, I am not trained in any way, I've just watched many tutorials from the internet and tried on my own and I believe I've seen every video Therese has made. So big thanks along many others goes to her. I saw this amazingly wonderful card in Pinterest that she had made for her mom, you can see it here. And when I went to visit her blog today and leave her a comment, I was so blown away that MY IDOL had been inspired by my colouring. What an honour Therese, thank you! And how amazingly, I also have some magnolia cards to share here today that I made for my mother and mother-in-law. :) So, today it is my turn to host Altenew blog and I share these two cards of mine and a colouring tutorial how I coloured these magnolias with Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolours. Well, I don't know what it is but every time I turn on my camera and start filming, everything starts to go wrong as you can see in the video. Too much pressure I guess. After several attempts to try to put that second card together, I finished it but I still felt that something was wrong about it but I couldn't figure out what it is. Luckily I have this awesome crafting friend, we chatted and she pointed out to me what was wrong about the card. Thank you, Kelly! You are the BEST! Here are my cards: Stamps used: Magnolias for Her Stamps used: Magnolias for Her Here is the colouring tutorial if you wish to see me colour this.
