Photograph of the Lotus Gate, One of four beautiful doorways within the central courtyard of the Jaipur City Palace in Rajasthan, India. The Lotus Gate in the southwest is adorned with dramatic lotus petals and flower patterns. It represents the summer and Lord Shiva. * Photographs are sold in A3 and A2 sizes but if you would like them printed to another size please send me a message and I will see what I can do and what the price will be. ** I don't personally print the photographs myself, they are sent off to another company to print and post out. I have tried a number of printers and I'm always aiming to get a good quality print that matches the original as much as possible. However as images on a monitor are back lit and the colour profile varies from computer to computer, I can't guarantee that the printed photograph will match exactly to the photographs viewed here. If there is a problem with the printed photograph please feel free to contact me and I will see if there is anything I can do. Thank you. *** Paper sizes vary in some countries such as the United States, When ordering photographs for customers outside of the UK, I will try to put the order through in their respective country to save on delivery times. This may mean that the photographs will be printed to slightly different dimensions. If this is the case I will contact you first to clarify any changes.

Lahori-Gate the main entrance of the Red fort leads into the shadows of the 'Chhatta Bazaar' or the 'Meena Bazaar'. The Red Fort was the palace for Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan's new capital, Shahjahanabad, the seventh great city in the Delhi site. The construction of the Red Fort began in 1638 and was completed by 1648. The last Mughal emperor to occupy the fort was Bahadur Shah II "Zafar". Despite being the`seat of Mughal power and its defensive capabilities, the Red Fort was not defended during the 1857 uprising against the British. After the failure of the 1857 rebellion, Zafar left the fort on 17 September. He returned to Red Fort as a prisoner of the British. Zafar was tried on in a trial starting on 27 January 1858, and was exiled on 7 October.
