Kirsten Sims' beautiful illustrations make me want to run through green hills, canoe in a valley and enjoy a cold lemonade near a waterfall.

Over the last year, Polish designer and illustrator Janusz Jurek has been exploring different forms of generative illustration as it relates to the human form. Some of my favorites are collected into a series title Papilarnie where bundled lines that look like lightning or roadways on maps converge into 3D arms, feet, and other incomplete bodies. You can see more of his generative illustration work over on Behance. More

The work of William Brymner (1855–1925) has long resisted stylistic definition. Although he trained in France in the academic tradition, he was also committed to painting en plein air and was one of the earliest Canadian artists to write about Impressionism and Post-Impressionism.

Michigan-based artist Pat Perry (previously) spent most of 2014 living a transient life spread across the U.S. His travels took him backpacking, train hopping, and motorcycling with stops in New England, Arkansas, and Texas, all the while dutifully recording his thoughts and observations in his sketchbook. The presence of rural America is a near-constant presence in Perry’s work, as well as the frustrations and occasional warnings of humanity colliding with the natural world. More

British illustrator Kate Baylay renders dark and melancholy scenes with delicate line work. In her series of Russian fairytale illustrations, the artist hides elaborate patterns in every aspect of the drawings — from the characters' clothing to tapestries, architecture and rugs in the background. These ornate patterns echo Russian folk art, but are made subtle through Baylay's muted color palette. The artist's other credits include book covers and illustrations for classic works of literature, such as Fitzgerald's The Great Gatsby and Wilde's The Happy Prince. Take a look at some of her work after the jump!
