This Book of Hours was created ca. 1400-1415 in either Flanders or Artois. There are twenty-three miniatures, six historiated initials, and drolleries, the latter found mainly on pages with historiated initials. The Hours of the Virgin are connected to the collegiate church of St. Pierre in Lille, as evinced by the hymn "Ueni Creator" at Lauds and None, as well as the antiphon "Cum iocunditate" at Compline. The book also contains an Office of the Dead that corresponds to Premostratensian use, and a Prayer to Christ that contains an introductory attribution to Friar Bertrant, priest and cardinal at an unidentified foundation dedicated to St. Cecilia. Additionally, the Suffrages are interpolated throughout the Hours of the Virgin from Lauds to Compline.

This English Psalter was made for an East Anglian patron at the beginning of the fourteenth century. The original Psalter contains a calendar for adapted Sarum use, the Psalms, Canticles, Litany, and Office of the Dead, with additional prayers in a humanist hand added by a fifteenth century owner. The text is incomplete; about two-dozen leaves have been removed, resulting in missing historiated initials, and several partial Psalms and Canticles. Three extant historiated initials, accompanied by incipits in gold, stand out among a multitude of smaller painted and flourished initials. The majority of the text is written in accomplished textualis prescissa. This Psalter has stylistic and textual connections to the Gorleston Psalter (British Library Add. 49622) and the Ormesby Psalter (Bodl. Lib., Douce MS 366), placing it firmly within the tradition of East Anglian manuscript production in the first half of the fourteenth century. This English manuscript was made in East Anglia in the mid-thirteenth-century for a patron with special veneration for St. Olaf, whose life and martyrdom is prominently portrayed in the "Beatus" initial of Psalm 1. Known as the "Carrow Psalter," due to its later use by the nunnery of Carrow near Norwich, it is more accurately described as a Psalter-hours, as it contains the Office of the Dead, the Hours of the Virgin, and Collects. The manuscript is striking for its rich variety of illuminations, including full-page cycles of saints, martyrs, and Biblical scenes, as well as historiated initials within the Psalter, and heraldry added in the fifteenth-century to undecorated initials in the Hours of the Virgin. Especially notable is the miniature portraying the martyrdom of St. Thomas Becket, for after Henry VIII found him guilty of treason in 1538, his image was concealed by gluing a page over it, rather than destroying it, and it has since been rediscovered. Christ: Miracle of raising Lazarus―Two men, including one covering his mouth with his hand, look on as a nimbed and partially shrouded Lazarus rises from his grave. Christ, with a rayed nimbus, gestures toward him with His right hand. Nimbed apostles, including Peter and Paul, and Mary and Martha of Bethany, both nimbed and kneeling, look on. A sarcophagus lid on the ground beside the grave is inscribed with pseudo-inscriptions.

North Netherlandish influence, possibly connected with works by the Masters of the Gold Scrolls, is suggested by the style and iconography of its images. The manuscript is notable for its large number of miniatures - forty-eight in total - as well as the sense of narrative within them, and the diversity of the suffrages they illustrate is striking. That the original owner had a strong interest in the Passion is evident in both the choice of texts and the images. The manuscript was well-used, and accrued not only additional prayers and suffrages, but devotional objects as well - a pilgrim's badge was once attached to the corner of the image for the suffrage to relics on fol. 160r. This page from Psalm 80 has an illuminated letter E. Inside the letter, David is playing the bells. At the bottom of the page below the text, Saint Francis is preaching to animals and friar Leo sits behind him. The image of St. Francis is heavily worn, which may be evidence of devotional touching by the manuscript's owner. This Psalter, with an additional Office of the Dead, was created in the late thirteenth century in northeastern France. A large quantity of Franciscan saints in the calendar and litany, as well as marginal imagery of them, suggests that the original owner had a strong affinity for that order. The manuscript was likely begun for one patron but finished for another, given a change in scribal and artistic hands and the addition of heraldry from Psalm 109 onward. Arms for the Fieschi family, as well as a birth notice in the calendar, identify the manuscript's first owner as Leonardo dei Fieschi, a Genoese nobleman (d. 1331). Among a multitude of drolleries, the manuscript contains a number of unusual marginal vignettes depicting SS. Francis, Clare, and Elisabeth of Hungary.

Dating from ca. 1265-80, this manuscript includes twelve calendar illustrations, four extant full-page miniatures, and eight historiated initials. Originally composed of the Psalter and Office of the Dead (for Premonstratensian use), it was appended to at a later time to include Hours of the Virgin of an unidentified use but which is related to Thérouanne and Saint Omer. The illumination is a composite of Ghent, Hainaut, and Liège styles. There is a strong presence of heraldry throughout; armorial shields and arms, birth notices, and other family entries cited on back flyleaves connect this Psalter to the Crohin family of Hainaut. Two births are specifically mentioned: Antonet, daughter of Jun de Crohin and Marguerite de Leugney on October 25, 1577, and Jan de Crohin, brother of Antonet, born January 24, 1579.
