Lazy lazy knitting. There’s no buttons, zippers, poppers. Nothing extra. Just a tube seamed up top and bottom. Not very convinient if you wish to wash the covers or change them. But I just figured I wont darn in the ends but leave them inside the pillow and if I ever need to take the covers off, I’ll just unravel the seams!

Let your creative juices flow with this playful, feminine design. Choose a main colour and 4 complementary ones and have fun arranging them in a sequence that will make your heart sing! Fairwyn is my grown-up take on my favourite dress from my childhood. Growing up behind the Iron Curtain of Soviet Russia, pretty dresses were hard to come by. One day, my mum surprised me with the most beautiful dress I’d ever seen. (To this day, I don’t know where she managed to find it.) It had a smocked yoke embroidered with tiny, bright flowers and big clusters of French knots. Fairwyn is a top-down round yoke pullover. It begins with a nod to the smocking but without all the work--a simple slip-stitch pattern does the trick. The girlish embroidery is replaced with a more sophisticated lace design and Japanese bobbles complete the look of the French knots.
I don't think I've ever really walked up to a complete stranger and asked if I could take their picture before, but this woman knitting on a bench along 5th Avenue in Brooklyn was so cute, and as a fellow knitter I wanted to talk with her. She didn't seem to speak any English, though, so we couldn't really have a conversation, but I asked and gestured about taking her picture, pointed at her knitting and said "me too!" very enthusiastically (along with minor knitting hand gestures). And she smiled her toothless smile so big and was so excited at having her picture taken, she totally struck this knitting pose for me. Looked like she was working with a sportweight baby yarn--could've been TLC Baby, I think, on srsly the world's most enormous dpns I've ever seen. I want to give this woman a circ! The sweater is a checkerboard of knits and purls. And she was really proud of it. As she should be. 100 Strangers: Stranger #1
I’ve always been extremely fond of fancy cables and saddle shoulders, ever since the earliest days of my knitting obsession, when I was a college student and found Alice Starmore’s classic book Aran Knitting. As a young knitter in the mid-1990s, there weren’t many other knitters my age so I largely learned knitting techniques from books. The great thing about learning this way was that I didn’t have anyone telling me that cables (or stranded colorwork, or lace) was hard, so I fearlessly dove into Ms. Starmore’s world of beautifully intertwining Celtic knots. This cardigan marries traditional cable patterns with mostly-seamless construction techniques that many knitters favor today; the only seaming required is joining the saddles to the shoulders. It is worked from the bottom up, with the body and sleeves worked separately, then joined for the yoke. After the shoulders are bound off, the cable panels from the sleeves are continued for a few inches, which become the decorative shoulder saddles. These saddles are seamed to the shoulders on the front and back, and then a generous garter stitch collar is worked. About Needled to Death Now that she’s been knitting up a storm with the help of her new friends at House of Lambspun, Kelly Flynn can’t imagine ever leaving Fort Connor, Colorado. But there’s trouble in her adopted hometown—and not just with her new sweater project… When Kelly volunteers to take a troop of tourists to visit Vickie Claymore’s alpaca farm, she discovers Fort Connor isn’t as sedate as it seems. Instead of a warm welcome, they find Vickie splayed out on her original hand-woven rug, her blood seeping into the design. The police jump on the case, but Kelly can’t resist doing a little investigation work of her own—even if it means taking a break from the sweater she’s been knitting in the round. Because a murderer is lurking in Fort Connor—waiting for the right moment to strike again…

This is a KNITTING PATTERN for a SEAMLESS Knit Square Afghan! HAVE YOU EVER KNIT AN AFGHAN BEFORE? If you have, you realize how much time and energy is spent working on it. Afghans will take hours and hours to knit. Sometimes, you can get really tired with the pattern. A lot of afghans repeat the same rows over and over again. This is fine, but when you get bored with a knit, it seems to take forever! Or if you haven’t knit an afghan before, maybe it is because you are overwhelmed at the thought. I love the idea of an afghan that looks like a quilt. I have seen afghans where each square is knit individually and then all seamed together at the end. This is a neat idea, but the thought of seaming all those squares is daunting. I wanted to design an afghan that has the same effect but is completely seamless! Here it is! This beautiful afghan is made up of 48 squares and is completely seamless! Many of the squares feature cable stitches. So, if you love cables, and you love seamless knitting, this is definitely for you! The Seamless Knit Square Afghan was our 2017 Mystery Knit. It is set up in sections reflecting the sections of the mystery knit. You will receive all of the sections at once. The pattern is both written and charted. Each square is individually charted and also has written instructions. This is for a intermediate knitter. Or an very adventurous advanced beginner. Each square is knit at the same time. This afghan is worked with worsted weight yarn. The yarn I used for the pattern is Red Heart Soft, however any worsted weight yarn will work. I recommend to buy enough yarn to complete the project at the start. FINISHED SIZE: 48" X 60" (122 cm x 152 cm) Each portion of the knit will use 255 yards. However, the first portion will use more to get started. YARN: Red Heart Soft or any similar worsted weight yarn AMOUNT OF YARN: 2100 yards (1900 meters) or 9 skeins GAUGE: 18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in Moss stitch. NEEDLES: 5 mm (8 US) long circular needles or sized needed to get gauge. Use these codes to save when you buy multiple patterns: SAVEON3 - Save 15% on 3 patterns. SAVEON5 - Save 20% on 5 patterns. SAVEON8 - Save25% on 8 patterns. HOW DO I DOWNLOAD MY PATTERN? Upon purchase you will receive an email with instructions to download a PDF file. It’s not really magic. It’s algebra but maths is rather magical, especially when designing (or even altering) patterns means it’s way more useful than you ever believed in high school. Sometimes the number of decreases (or increases) you want to do divides neatly into the number of rows you have available. And sometim

Yarn and pattern matching, take three! Now, I don't actually have much in the stash in heavier weights (most of my knits are in that dk to light worsted range). And if I stick with single ply yarns, I have even fewer choices on hand. But I did have this, so I figured I'd swatch it
This sweater is ALL about this beautiful yarn from Shani of Bleu Pouissiere. You know how much I love finding small female-run companies that aren’t usually in the spotlight and introducing you guys to them, and Shani’s work is really something special. Natural dyes, local yarns, and the most gorgeous images ever. This will not be my only design in her beautiful fibers. Go Look! That said, Pamplemousse is designed as a somewhat cropped, loose pullover, with a generous cowl. I wanted to take advantage of the wonderful squish in this yarn, so lots of slipped stitches add depth and create a wonderfully satisfying fabric. Delicate, assymetrical cables are featured on front and back, and the whole thing reads as textured and cozy. A few fun details are worked in there as well - a subtle curve to the sweater body, visible seams and edge detail, and some cool lines in the sleeve shaping. The sweater is knit flat in pieces and seamed, and then both sleeves and cowl are picked up and knit to end in the round. Short rows are used to shape shoulders and hem. As always, I have included notes on how to modify this for length or width, and there are a few options for playing with both neckline and cowl (and yes, it works without the cowl! See testknits!) Details on sizing and yardage are below: Sizes: 36(39.25,42.5,45.5,48)(51.25,55.25,59.25,62.5)” 91.5(99.75,108,115.5,122)(130.25,140.25,150.5,158.75) cm Size around body at hip and bust, based on final blocked fabric. Sample is worn with 6”/15.25cm of positive ease. Yarn Bleu Poussiere Taiga (100% Dorset wool from Quebec), 240 yds/220m per 113g/4oz skein. 1100(1200,1300,1400,1500)(1600,1700,1800,1900)yds 1005(1100,1190,1280,1375)(1465,1555,1645,1740)meters Sample knit in Crimson Kiss, hand dyed with hibiscus & cutch. If substituting yarn, I suggest a heavy worsted or aran weight wool without a lot of elasticity. YOU MUST SWATCH. The slipped stitches behave differently in other fibers and your gauge may be affected. I have notes in the pattern to counteract this, but a sub yarn without much memory will probably work to gauge more easily.
Review from Mollie A: "This is my second Zoom Loom. Love it. I love it so much, I ordered this second one for when I travel. It's so addictive and uses up the little bits leftover from other projects ideally." Schacht Spindle has taken a simple design and transformed it into an efficient and comfortable little loom. If you want to take part of first alerts on new pattern releases, special offers, free downloads and knitting and designing in general please join me at FB: Anne B Hanssen Design If you ever took a close look at the Nigella flower you have discovered the fantastic and beautiful way it is constructed! It comes in beautiful shades of blue, sometimes white or purple, and it looks so fragile and strong at the same time. When creating this new lace pattern the Nigella flower immediately came to my mind. The rounded yoke of the cardigan looks like lots of Nigella flowers spread out like a carpet:) Construction The cardigan is worked top down and without seams, allowing for desired length of body and sleeves. You start from a narrow ribbed edge, followed by the rounded yoke in the Nigella lace pattern. Thereafter the upper body is shaped by a short row section in order to make the fronts neckline lower than the neckline of the back. The upper body is continued with raglan increases. Work is divided for body and sleeves. The lower body is worked flat in stockinette sts followed by a short hem in lace-pattern. The sleeves are worked in the round in stockinette followed by lace-patterned cuffs. Sts are picked up for button bands. Sizes 6mo / 9mo / 12mo / 18mo-2years / 2-3years / 4-5years. Finished chest measurements are: 47/51/53.5/56.5/61/66cm = 18.5/20/21/22.25/24/26” . Keep in mind that the reference to age is approximate. For best results I recommend that you measure a favorite garment that fits well before choosing which size to work. Materials Yarn: I used Rosy Green Wool ”Merino d’Arles” to work the sample. This yarn is an organic merino of fingering weight that comes in skeins of 50gr/1.76oz and 200m/218yards. You will need 2/2/2/3/3/3 skeins of this specific yarn. Yardage might vary from one knitter to another. Needles: a circular needle, size 2.5mm/US1.5 to work the upper and lower body. A set of dpns (or a circular needle, if working the magic loop) for the sleeves. Read more under gauge. Notions: removable stitch-markers, separate holders, scrap yarn and a crochet hook (if you want to work the underarm sts from a provisional cast-on), 6 buttons, 1cm/0.4” across. Gauge 28 sts and 40 rows in stockinette sts = 10x10cm/4x4”. For best results you need to establish gauge before getting started. I used needle size 2.5mm/US1.5 to obtain gauge. This is a suggestion only. The pattern The Nigella lace pattern is charted as well as written out, row-by-row. All measurements are given in cm’s as well as in inches. All necessary stitch-counts are given. There is a schematic. Knitting skills Working lace following written instructions and/or chart, Picking up sts. Working in the round. Provisional cast-on for the underarm sts (this is optional - you could also use the traditional cast on). Working simple short rows (it is not necessary to pick up the wraps). Abbreviations used are: k, p, yo, ssk, k2tog, sl2(as if to k2tog)k1psso, m1l, m1r, w&t. Yarn and Pattern Packs for this design are available here. Let your creative juices flow with this playful, feminine design. Choose a main colour and 4 complementary ones and have fun arranging them in a sequence that will make your heart sing! 〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰 Fairwyn is my grown-up take on my favourite dress from my childhood. The sweater has a less common method of raising the back. A unique but straightforward technique that I absolutely love, as it doesn’t disrupt the neck area with short rows, yet produces the desired end result. If you are not familiar with this method I’m sure you’ll love this nifty addition to your knitting techniques arsenal! Once the yoke is done, the sleeve stitches are separated and put on hold until the body is complete. The rest of the body is worked in plain stockinette, perfect for your knit night or for a spot of TV knitting. The hem and cuffs finish off with a band of ribbing (sleeves’ ones are much longer than the hem’s) and a pop of colour at the end. The variety of fingering yarn in the market today allows for lots of colour options. Bright, contrasting colours will express your cheerful spirit; soft, muted colours will show your gentle, romantic side. 〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰 This pattern has been professionally tech edited and tested. If you wear an Anemone Hat, you will have to get used to being stopped by strangers who are smiling at you and want to tell you how much they like your hat. In the Pacific Northwest, I wear my hats fall through spring, and they inspire ten times as many comments as anything else I have ever designed. An Anemone Hat can provide all these things for you: cozy warmth, beauty, a non-prescription anti-depressant, and a good-hair day. The pattern includes the Everyday Anemone as well as a heavier version called the Arctic Anemone, which also has a picot edge variation. Both versions give you the choice of Moebius brim or a simple circle brim. If you’ve never made a Moebius before, you’ll find detailed instructions, illustrations, and a live link to my Moebius video tutorial (which has well over a quarter of a million views) to start you on your way. The pattern also includes a live link to my tendril video tutorial. Designer Annie Modesitt taught me to make tendrils — thank you, Annie! The Everyday Anemone Hat is knit with worsted yarn at 4 1/4 sts to the inch, and comes in five sizes, from baby to large adult. The Arctic Anemone comes in two adult sizes, and is knit with bulky yarn at 3 sts to the inch. Both hats should be knit with super wash yarn so the tendrils can be plumped up in the washer and dryer. You will love the transformation when they come out. After years of being asked for the pattern, I am very glad to have finally produced it One reason it took so long is that I wanted to rewrite and re-illustrate the Moebius instructions that appeared in my two Moebius knitting books, A Treasury of Magical Knitting and A Second Treasury Of Magical Knitting, both now out of print. In the years I have been teaching Moebius knitting, I have fine-tuned my instruction it so it is easier to understand, and this pattern reflects that evolution. I do expect to release the two Treasuries as eBooks in 2012, with updated material and some new designs as well. YARN For everyday Anemone, Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Worsted (100% superwash wool, 100 g / 225 yds), 1 skein. Please use a superwash wool, because machine washing and drying make the tendrils become delightfully bouncy, plump, and elegant. For Arctic Anemone, String Theory Bulky Merino (100% superwash, 4 oz / 106 m), 2 skeins ERRATA page 6, Round 26 for Brim option #2, size Adult lg only should read: Repeat (k6, m1) until only 8 sts remain, k8—92 sts.
This morning I released a new pattern. It's the Any Way You Want It Shawl: Any Way You Want It The shawl is a short row shawl with a super-long wingspan, giving you a ton of wearing options! I got tired of looking kind of weird/awkward when wearing my shawls. This one is much more versatile...I can wrap it around my shoulders, or wear it like a scarf. It takes just a skein of Hazel Knits Divine, so you can knit one up in no time! I have been wearing mine for months (I don't know what took me so long to get the pattern out) and have been getting tons of compliments on it. It's a great accessory addition to my wardrobe. Hope you enjoy it! Any Way You Want It

The first ever Lace Eater Mash-up! Sometimes certain lace motifs really take my fancy, and I think they deserve another chance to shine in a beautiful design. In this delicate, laceweight crescent shawl I have used some of my favourite motifs from previous designs including: Biophilia, Herbfield, Seaward, and Ribbonwood. Lace stitches open up the fabric while cables draw together stitches in sweeping lines of denser fabric to create visual interest. I created a simple border featuring a sequence of single buds which gives the piece a delicate scalloped edge. A note regarding yardage. I used 2 skeins of Malabrigo Silkpaca for this shawl. If you substitute yarn you will require approximately 700 metres / 766 yards of laceweight yarn to complete this project.
Kurt Cobain MTV Unplugged Cardigan. Mohair Grunge Green. Size Large. All sizes available. Replica of the one Kurt wore on MTV unplugged which has become one of his most famous performances when he was in Nirvana back in the 90's, not long before he died. Size Large. Long sleeves 5 Button V neck front. Front pockets I call the colour 'Grunge Green'. It is an light olive colour that seems to change under different lights Designed and Hand Knitted in the UK by me. Knitted with Mohair yarn. (Brushed up fluffy) Hand wash at 30 degrees, dry flat Kurt Cobain developed his own casual punk/grunge look often wearing Mohair and Wool Jumpers and Cardigans. I have designed this cardigan to be as close to the original as possible. (Pictures 3 and 6 and 10 are Kurt Cobain, so you can compare) To do this I have sourced the best mohair yarn, colour, texture and even the same buttons. The original now has the second button up missing, a cigarette burn on the left front and a stain over the right pocket, however these defects were not present when he recorded the mtv unplugged session. The original cardigan was sold about 7 years ago for £135,000 at Julien's Auctions. It is went up for auction again on 26/10/19 and was sold for $334,000. It is the most expensive cardigan ever sold at an auction Ideal for any Kurt Cobain / Nirvana fan, Punk, Grunge, Rock, Vintage, Retro, Hippy, Boho Due to high demand, l am currently knitting these cardigans to order. I could never have guessed their popularity so I do not have any in stock. The leadtime varies depending on how many orders I have in the queue at the time your order is placed. My current leadtime is approximately 20 weeks. All orders are knitted in the order they are placed in, no queue jumping! However this leadtime is approx as it is only me knitting them by hand, so until I learn to knit in my sleep, its just a case of having to ask you to be patient. One plus side is that you can have it knitted in any size that suits! I can also take orders for any other size, yarn or colour. The measurements of the actual cardigan (not the persons chest measurement) are approx. Med 40"-42" armpit to armpit. Length 28" Large 44”-46” armpit to armpit. Length 28" XL 50"-52” armpit to armpit. Length 28" XXL 54"-56" armpit to armpit. Length 28" Have a look at the other items in my shop. I have Kurts other iconic red and black striped jumper and also his famous patched Levi 501 button fly jeans

ABOUT MERRYMAKER Merrymaker is inspired by the joy that comes through celebrations: birthday parties, backyard cookouts, showers; you name it, let’s enjoy and celebrate it! Joy is something that is very dear to me. My grandmother has been signing her cards with the words “love and joy” for as long as I could remember and when I began designing, I decided that I would take those two, very simple but powerful words and use them to inspire my patterns. Joy can come from so many places, hearing a bird sing, seeing a pretty flower, petting a dog, enjoying a great cup of tea or coffee, and the one that I feel is so important now more than ever, being with those you love. So I hope that as you make this sweater and then wear it out to parties and get-togethers, you will remember the joy that inspired this design and that you also knit your own joy and memories into it. The colourwork design made me think of long-ago birthday parties with garlands all over the house. I wanted to recreate that happy and excited feeling for this project and hope that it translates well. In addition, the twisted rib trims and the colour palette are a bit retro to add to the nostalgic feel. This colourwork yoked sweater is knit seamless from the top down. The neckline, hem and sleeve cuff are worked in half-twisted ribbing. After the neck ribbing is knit, short rows are worked to raise the back of the neckline slightly. A few increases are worked and then the stranded colourwork chart begins with more increases dispersed in the stockinette-only sections. After completing the yoke, sleeve stitches are placed on hold as the body of the sweater is knit in the round while continuing to work stranded colourwork to the hem. Sleeve stitches are picked up and the stranded colourwork is worked to the cuff. Designer Jill Thompson Beach Where to Get it This listing is for the single PDF pattern.
