Have you tried a Stack & Cut before? It's a simple concept that really is genius. And if you like quilts, you're going to like this...and how simply the cards go together. There are any number of ways to do a Stamp & Cut. Some are simple and others just a little less simple. Simply stack up 3-5 pieces of 4" x 5 1/4" Designer Series Paper (DSP), cut it into several pieces in different directions, then mix up the pieces before adhering them to the card base. I chose to use the soon-to-be-gone Daff

Sharing the swap card of my fearless leader, Lorri Heiling, from our weSTAMP Team Meeting Monday night. I think this is just adorable and wouldn't it make a sweet baby card too, just change the sentiment on the tag! Blue or Pink! I'm going to guess at the measurements, since I left it at the office with the other swaps to show off to my work stampers. Recipe: Whisper White Thick Cardstock - 8 1/2" x5 1/2", scored and folded at 4 1/4" Powder Pink (I think) - 5 1/4" x 4 - scored with Simple Stripes Textured Impressions Embossing Folder Whisper White Tag - with Scalloped Tag Topper and Banner Triple Punches and a Circle Punch. The cute little bunny comes from the 2018 Occasions Catalog called We Must Celebrate. Ribbon - 1/2" Finely Woven Ribbon in Powder Pink (that's why I think the Paper is Powder Pink!) Awesome Job Boss! I think I'll be making these for sure! Thank you for looking in today. Heading to bed (early for me) after a long election day in Maricopa County. Hi...today I have three cards to share...now I don't make that many cards for 'the boys' that often...if at all really to be honest, but my first ever order arrived from SSS arrived on Saturday (being doing a happy dance since...lol...I waited long enough for it!!!..) I just had to have a play with these cute little SSS Small Plane dies....I have no idea why they jumped into my basket...but I'm so pleased they did... As I'm new to this CAS malarkey....it took me a while to get a grip of what I had in mind for them although the outcome is such a simple card...my first thought was a grey plane in contrast DP..but then in a light bulb moment I thought of a 'pop' of red which I think made all the difference . Then I remembered I had the Cloud dies from Memory Box lurking in my stash..they were bought on a whim a while back and haven't seen the light of day since...until now. The sentiment is by Clearly Besotted (another passionate affair...more about that later). I layered it all up with 3D pads, added Twine and a tiny red gem for balance. Next!.... This time I used SSS Pointed Feathers die...I'm just love these...you'll be seeing these very often I think...lol....I cut them from SU DP's ..thought the grey was a good idea for a masculine card and again kept it simple...twine, button, Clearly Besotted sentiment again...and....sequins????? ( well they are grey/silver...lol...) they just finished it off nicely I thought... I'm having a quiet day today...I hope to be playing with a pile of new Stamps and Dies from Clearly Besotted ....if Mr Postie pays a visit today...I'll share the results tomorrow but in the meantime here's something I made earlier... For this I used their Geometric Style Stamps and Dies...I embossed the design in white on Kraft cardstock and cut out a few to make a 'snowflake' (well that was my first thought...lol..) I scored a few lines on the backing card and just finished with Twine, a button, a Christmas sentiment and a couple of pearls.... Have a great day!! Hugs Jan...xxx
Happy Monday I do hope you all had a wonderful Easter. Today Im bringing you something a bit different ...well for me it is anyway. I have sent coffee and a card on a long term holiday .. may return may not...and in its place we have Mix it up Monday. Mondays are now my attempt to enter the world of mixed media using Stampin' Up! products. Im being a little sneaky as I do know some new products on the horizon and know that mixed media will be even more fun with Stampin' Up! come June...but my lips are SEALED. I am however, open to bribes. So this is a simple entry into mixed media I used an old book page as my background which I ripped to size and inked very simply using Stampin' Up! brayers, and they are fun fun fun to use. I layered Bermuda Bay then Daffodil Delight followed by Tangerine Tango. These colours seemed to work well together and didn't end up like mud when blended together ...we don't want mud we want bright and bold. I then stamped using black ink stamped off and using Wild about flowers stamp set. A beautiful set I may add . I also used the dragonfly from dragonfly details ...or is it detailed dragonfly ? Im terrible with names! The words are from a sentiment in the grateful bunch set but you could use any or indeed had write your own to suit, or print it from your computer. The words and book page edge were lightly inked with Sahara Sand for an aged kind of feel. The page was then layered on black card and in turn Bermuda Bay then a black card base. To add final detail I used Stampin' Up! chalk marker and a glitter gel pen to accentuate the flowers and the dragonfly , giving dimension and a subtle sparkle. You could use wink of stella here it would look amazing but I had run out. I do hope you will look at my youtube tutorial for this card and follow along. Mixed media is great fun and I hope to really get into it and improve as the weeks go along. So sit comfy maybe grap a brew and watch the tutorial.... Happy Stamping xx Amanda Card size:- Base :- 11 1/2 x 4 3/4" score at 5 3/4" fold to make card coloured layer:- 4 1/2 x 5 1/2" Black layer for book page :- 4 1/4 x 5 1/4" The book page was ripped to size by eye no definitive measurement

It's time for another challenge at CAS Watercolour. This month our challenge is I pulled out my big Dazzling Snowflake stamp, stamped it with Whisper White Craft ink on Mixed Media paper and heat embossed. Then I sprinkled some Brusho crystals on it and spritzed with water. I kept sprinkling more and spritzing until I was happy with the contrast. A sentiment stamped and heat embossed on vellum and a few sequins finished it off. I can't wait to see all the beautiful snowflake creations at CAS Watercolour this month. I'm back with another card for this weekend's birthday party. This one also qualifies for the challenge at Stampin' Royalty this week - Clean and Simple. You know I love it! Here's my card: I pulled out another of the new In Colors: Raspberry Ripple. Let me just say, this color is gorgeous. Like the child of Rose Red and Purely Pomegranate. I can see myself using this one a lot! I put it with Lucky Limeade and Daffodil Delight. The flower is from Mixed Bunch, with the branch from Betsy's Blossoms and a sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes. I put some piercing in the corners and added the brad just to pull a little bit of yellow to the right side for balance. The DPs are from Summer Smooches, the new polka dot pack, and the In Color pack. That's it for today but I definitely WILL be back in the OCC challenges this weekend and also hope to have more to show you besides that before the week is out. Thanks for visiting!

Hello, dear friends. It's time for a new challenge at CAS Watercolour This month's challenge is.... Be sure your card is CAS And has watercolour I stamped this NBUS Penny Black stamp with VersaMark on Mixed Media paper and heat embossed with white embossing powder. My Zigs were feeling neglected so I brushed some color on the base of the flowers then used my waterbrush to move the color around. I added some more color with brushstrokes from the base to add some visual texture. Finally, I pulled some of the color out and around the flowers and splattered it all. The image is on foam. Our Design Team has some really pretty birthday watercolours to share with you along with our very talented Guest Designer, Birgit (Rapport fran ett skrivbord) I hope to see your birthday cards over at CAS Watercolour! A friend is opening a cake accessory shop local to us. This has been ongoing for a while but she has had problems, not sure what! She asked me at the very beginning if I would make some cards for the shop, which I did do! But as I have spent so much time in hospital, my husband had sold most of them to customers wanting cards! She got in touch with me again yesterday and told me it is finally opening, so I had to go through everything I had and sort something out. I managed to sort out 41.....remarkably.... Hopefully there is a broad selection, but I'm sure she will be in touch should anyone want anything in particular! Just a few to make up the numbers. And a recommendation, which is lovely.........ordered from someone who has received one of my cards

Hi Everyone! Thanks for stopping by. So glad I got to participate in the monthly Papertrey Ink Blog Hop. I've really been loving the inspiration photos Nichole has been using for the past few months. Would you believe I made this card in 20 minutes? Rarely does that happen for me. I didn't have much of a choice as we are getting ready to leave for a birthday party that is 2 hours away and will be gone all day. Yesterday was my son's birthday so I didn't have much free time this week to put something together, so as usual I waited til the last minute. Here is the inspiration photo Here is my take on the photo. I really loved the colors and lines so I tried to incorporate them both into the card, but still keep it CAS. I couldn't really tell if that was a dark gray or a dark taupe brown so I went with gray. Hope you enjoy! Can't wait to get home later and sit down to check out what everyone else has done. Don't forget, if you want to make supply lists using the new InLinkz Link Manager(like I do below) it's now out of the testing phases and available for public use for FREE until December. Lots of occasions call for varied cards and I know I never have enough on hand ready. So for this class I thought we could make a few to fill out your supply. You just never know when you will need them. The first card is one that would be suitable for a male or female. I must confess I was not going to initially buy this stamp set, but then saw some beautiful samples and gave in. But I am ever so glad I did. It's such a great set to use. I love the look crystal effects give on a leaf. Just like tiny dew drops. Sadly, I am needing quite a few get well cards lately, so thought it would be great to include this in the set.....and it includes another great way to use the tulip embossing folder. Every little (and many big) girls love butterflies, so a pretty pink card was needed to fill a gap in my box. It includes a pop up surprise butterfly inspired by one I saw Marelle Taylor do recently. Sometimes you won't need a baby card for years, but then, oops you need a dozen. This card could be used for a shower or the birth of a boy or girl. Very versatile. And lastly, an anniversary, or you could change this to a wedding card if you desire, to round out the selection. This class will take place on Saturday the 14th at 10.30am and Wednesday the 18th at 10am. Class cost is $25 and includes all materials and tools. If you would like to attend please rsvp so I can prepare the kit for you. All welcome.

At CAS Mix Up this month we're using Markers along with stamping and another mixed media of your choice. I hadn't used my Zigs in way too long. So I got them out and had a wonderful time coloring with them. I've used the Zig Markers, a Stamped and Heat Embossed image, Waterbrush, and Vellum with more Heat Embossing. I have been enjoying all the color going on at Virginia's View Challenge.... so I'm joining in there. There are some awesome cards in both of these galleries! Welcome to our September Mix-Up! Why a Mix-Up? Well, maybe it's because right now we have two fabulous catalogues to tempt us - the 2015-2016 Annual Catalogue and the Holiday Catalogue which we can order from until January 4, 2016. Because our Hops always go in a circular fashion, if you are starting here, I'm the first stop on the journey. If you joined in somewhere along the line and are working your way around, you may have come from Deb's Stamp and Create blog. I don't how she comes up with all the amazing creations she shares with us! Let's jump right in with my first project. The idea of the Free-For-All or Mix-Up is to use products from both catalogues. So my first project features the Woodland Textured Impressions Embossing Folder and the Among the Branches stamp set - which very conveniently are offered in a bundle which saves you 15%. I teamed them up with the Thankful Forest Friends stamp set which is also in the Holiday Catalogue. When I looked at the bear image, I immediately pictured him peeking out from behind one of the trees. I call this card Peek-A-Boo Bear. For products from the Annual Catalogue I used the sentiment stamps from Work of Art and punched it out with a retired punch because I didn't have any current punches that would work for this! Many apologies! Next, I had to re-visit a favourite technique. Bokeh! Because it reminds me of bubbles, I teamed it up with this very fun jellyfish stamp from the Land to Sea set from the Annual Catalogue. The inks are all blues - Night of Navy, Bermuda Bay and Pool Party. To make the jellyfish pop - they are stamped with Versa Mark ink and embossed using White Embossing Powder. For an item from the Holiday Catalogue, I chose the Softly Falling Textured Impressions Embossing Folder - again, because it can be bubbles or snowflakes! Thick Whisper White card stock is perfect for the card base. Finally, I had to go all Christmas. But, Christmas with Bokeh! This is pretty much all from the Holiday Catalogue - except for the Night of Navy, Whisper White and Thick Whisper White cardstock. The Sleigh Ride Edgelits Dies are just way too much fun! And add such a WOW factor against the Bokeh sky with silver glitter that was so, so easy to do by dabbing small dots of glue using the Fine Tip Glue Pen. Love that glue!! The 'peace' is cut from silver glimmer paper using the Christmas Greetings Thinlits Dies set. I used the same ink colour as with the jellyfish card. So I have lots of new toys to play with, which is always fun. Hope I have given you some inspiration! I know you will get a lot of inspiration from the next Hopper - Debbie. Just click on the 'Next' button, below, to continue your journey.

Hi. I hope you are having a sparkly day! My studio is really sparkling these days! The CAS Mix Up Challenge this month is Using stamping, glitter, splash watercolour, fiber elements and heat embossing I started out thinking Christmas, but then my mojo went in a totally different direction! I'm going to blame Mac Mable for that. Her card and tag made me go AWOL! Thanks for the wonderful inspiration Mac! I've had these leaves in my stash for several years and Mac's feathers made me think of them. I messed up a few and discovered that less is definitely more with glitter! First I spread some glue on the edge of a leaf and dumped some glitter over it. While the glue was drying and hopefully securing the glitter (does anything really secure glitter?), I used Loll's Splash Watercolour Background Technique to do a background. When everything was dry, I adhered the leaves, a little stamping and heat embossing and I was finished. There are some great tutorials on using glitter. You'll find links at the CAS Mix Up Challenge site. There's also some amazing inspriation cards over there. Our Design team and Guest Designer, Robyn (Waterlily cards by Robyn) have outdone themselves with their beautiful creations! Hope to see your glittery creations over there. Challenge is open until the 24th. Thanks for the visit and special thanks for your comments. Enjoy! Hi everyone. Today I'm CASEing this beautiful card made by my friend, Marcia (Marcia's Stampin' Pad). Thank you for the inspiration, Marcia!! I just loved her design, and I happened to have the heart die-cut that she used for the background and hadn't used it yet. :) I used a watercoloured panel (done on mixed media paper) that I smooshed with re-inkers and spray starch and then pressed cling wrap over top. It has a very subtle design. I added a simple white die-cut leaf sprig, white embossed sentiment and three Nuvo Jewel Drops in Rosewater. Thanks for coming by for a visit. I hope you'll find some time to check out Marcia's blog. Adding this card to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes.
