For this blog hop I constructed a Envelope Mini Album from scratch using the beautiful Skylark paper pack. The main components of this album are: Chipboard, Kraft Cardstock, Skylark Paper pack (CTMH), Skylark Dimensional Elements (CTMH) and Liquid Glass (CTMH). The binding method used on this album is "Stack the Deck + One". There are a total of 7 pages with envelopes slots on each side to tuck in another area to journal or place photos. (I can't wait to put black and white pictures of our family in this!!) This was super fun to make! Long time no see. A very long time indeed. I thought I would post a cute card I made using the new April Stamp of the Month, “O-fish-ally Awesome”. I made this card for a monthly stamp of the month swap I participate in when I’m able to. I’ve seen so many cute ideas with this set from other consultants. Here is my version. Those that know me, know I love to fussy cut, and you can see I did quite a bit of fussy cutting on this card. I used our newer TriBlend markers (from Spectrum Noir) to color all of the images. I also used our Multi Square Window Thin Cuts to add some extra interest. The polka dot background paper is from the new Mix-In Paper Packet. And it's hard for me to do a card without some sort of bling, so of course I've added a few random sparkles. Here's a look at the entire stamp set. Isn't it fun. Oh my this paper collection and stamp sets are wonderful and so much fun to work with. I love the bright colours and the positive reinforcement sentiments of the stamp are really great. I am so privileged to be part of a big family and that we enjoy spending time together. Watching the kids grow up and mature I get a glimpse of what sort of adults they will be. They each have their own distinct personalities, good and bad characteristics and are real stars to me. I have high hopes for all of them, I know they are all super in my eyes. So I decided to create a layout to show them that I think they are all super kids. To celebrate a super hero's birthday we need a super hero's card and this is what I have made. I wanted to show Super Girl flying so this is what I came up with. Close To My Heart have a fabulous special on the thin cuts, stamp and thin cut sets. I cut the super girl image twice because when you colour the image, it sometimes bleeds through and I didn't want that to be seen. This pop up card is really easy to make, the white insert is 7.5" x 4.75", once folded in half make a mark 2.5" from center fold on both sides and also 2.5" down from top of center fold. Then make a score line from each side to the center mark. Once scored fold to make up the pop up detail. Have you "smashed" yet? My daughter and I walked through a local scrapbooking store and saw the Smash Book from K&Company for the first time. Curious...We went home and researched on the Internet to find out what this smashing was all about. Curious yourself? Check out this video. {warning: the song is very catchy!} Well, being a dedicated Close To My Heart gal, I was certain that I could create one of these books with the wonderful CTMH products. I happened to get one of these My Creations Journals before they retired. I like that it has a protected front cover and big spirals to allow pretty ribbons and expansion of pages. I am entering this smash-tastic project in two challenges this week. First the Ribbon Carousel Challenge for it's colorful ribbon and sparkly swirls. I am also entering it in the Inspired By #11 Challenge. The colors of the photo are exactly what I was looking for. My little banner hangs cheerfully just as the frames in the photo as well! This is the photo at Inspired By~ I love the idea of a Smash Book being sort-of whimsical and chaotic. It will contain a mish-mash of items and ideas and those will be written in my own handwriting which is pretty scary! What a fun journey this shall be! I did break down and get the Smash pen. It's too cool not to use. It has a writing pen on one end while the other end has glue. I'm ready to smash anything in the book!! Awesome right!

I made this set of 20 cards using the paper from the CTMH Lollydoodle card workshop and the scrapbook workshop. I have to be honest. I really am not crazy about this paper. I really wanted the stamps that came with the 2 workshops for other purposes and had the paper left over. I didn't want to put it on my shelf and forget about it, so I made myself use it. I am actually pretty happy with the results. This card uses a sentiment from the CTMH Laughing Lola card workshop. This card uses a sentiment from MFT Pretty Poppies. This card uses a sentiment from UNITY …Everything Wonderful. This card uses a sentiment from MFT Vertical greetings. I hope that you like them. I really only used a few sheets of DSP from the two packs so I will have to find something else to do with the rest!
Introducing another stunning new set! The Ornate Blossoms Stamp set D1687 also comes with matching Thin Cuts Z3227. Loving the possibilities with this set and really enjoyed experimenting with various ways to use them. Stamping with Versamark Ink and White, Clear or Gold embossing powders on White Daisy, Colonial White, Desert Sand and Honey Card stock. I think the embossing really helped to enhance the richness of each image. To get my creative juices flowing I set up a production line, stamping, embossing and cutting each image before using the Thin Cuts (which cut beautifully each time and are a breeze to line up) getting six (6) cut with each pass. After stamping, embossing and cutting I used Desert Sand Ink with a Dauber to vary the tone and highlight the larger images. I ended up using Colonial White Card Base and Card stock as white was just a bit too bright. The embossed mat is an old Darice Embossing Folder (can't remember it's name) This was such a very quick and easy card to make. For the background mat, I used one of the 6" x 4 " PML Cards from the Beautiful Set. The images were stamped in Black Versafine and embossed with Clear Embossing Powder. Always a better option I find than messing about with Black embossing powder (not a pretty sight at my desk!. Hello sentiment is a Die Cut from Lawn Fawn. I have always been a fan of yellow, black and white so, I could not resist trying out the combination. I stamped directly onto the Honey cardstock mat for two images and stamped and cut the others, also adhering with foam mounting tape. I used the matching Honey Ink with a Dauber both on the card mat and a touch on the focal image. I have to confess to struggling with Card four. Finally another PML Card from the Beautiful You set was the break through and the card was then very quick to assemble one I decided a mixture of images of gold embossing on both black and white cardstock. Welcome to the Paper Trail Blog Hop for May! You should have arrived from Connie's blog, but this is a circular hop, so it doesn't matter where you begin. ;) This month we are featuring the Later Sk8r Paper Packet. And here is what I have to share with you. Let me start with my layout. For the layout design, I used Pattern #8 from the Make It From Your Heart Volume 1 booklet. And I used the Later Sk8r My Stickease, and did a little stamping and embellishing to complete it. Now I just need to add some photos to finish it off. Here's another project, this time a shaped card. Now, isn't this just the cutest card!? There's just something so lovable about shaped cards. ;) I basically used a template by Deneen Treble, but I ended up not printing it out, but just eyeballed it to get it to look basically the same. You can find Deneen's Little Boy Overalls template HERE. I think this could be used for a little boy's birthday or even as a baby boy card. Welcome to this month's Technique Blog Hop where we are featuring "Interactive Elements" while incorporating Close To My Heart products. Participants can interpret the theme however they choose so it will be fun to see what they have to share with all of us. If you are coming from Haley's Blog, you are on the right track. You can find a complete list of participants at the bottom of this post. For my card creation, I decided to create a Spinner Card (and maybe for the first time - oops). I have possessed this Spinner Thin Cut for quite some time but had not used it, yet. Honestly, I was a little intimidated by it and I should not have been. Directions were included (and are also provided as a download on my website) and that is what I used. Be sure you have a brad to use as it is what allows the spinner to be functional. I enjoyed incorporating these coffee cup images - and had to include the facial stamps this time - from one of my favorite stamp sets. I used Distress Oxide Inks to discolor the background as well as to color the holder on the left. Some paper-piecing was done on the holder on the right. I could not resist using this adorable stamp set, again, "Desserts a la Whirl". As you can see, it includes fabulous sentiments that could be used in the window. the right season at the right time. I told you, I am super weird and holiday jump in my cardmaking in a MAJOR way!!!! I used the new stamp set, called So Grateful, for this card. Check this out - the image below, is from the catalog, and as you can see there's a solid pumpkin, which would be terrific on its own, OR you can stamp the swirly sentiment pumpkin right on top of it for a totally different effect. (Or you could certainly stamp the swirly sentiment on its own as well!) I used a sentiment from Thank You, which works perfectly with my pumpkin! I wish I could remember what colors I used on mine. I'm thinking the pumpkin is Autumn Terracotta (or Goldrush??) and the words are Barn Red or Chocolate. (I'm not much help, am I!) I also used some NEW paper on my card - from the Dreamin' collection. Lots of pretty patterns and color combos for Fall in this collection! I've had my first pumpkin spice latte of the season, from Starbucks, and I'm using great restraint, in not picking up a cinnamon broom from the grocery store YET. (I try to make myself wait until October 1st!) Around here, it doesn't feel like fall until about November! But we are READY and waiting for it!!! Have a great week! xoxo
