I wanted to make a fun bible snack for my kids, and these came out cuter than I expected they would! They are super fun to make, and fun to eat, and your kids are
At first, I was pretty reluctant about having a baby shower. But my mum was so excited by the idea that I couldn't not and actually, I'm really glad she persuaded me - it was fun to catch up with so many friends and celebrate something so special (even though I still don't believe it's happening). We hosted the shower last weekend for 40 guests at a cute little spot on Flat Iron Square called Where The Pancakes Are. I discovered WTPA the previous month when a fashion editor suggested it for a breakfast meeting. After devouring the Forest Berries pancakes, it's all my pregnant belly could think about so this seemed like a great excuse to go back. The owners Gilda and Patricia let us hire the whole restaurant and we decked it out with feather-filled balloons and pretty flowers. Unfortunately I don't have any photos of the room set up but it looked really cute. Guests left with personalised biscuits I'd ordered from Lady Bakewell Park. Naturally, I used Britney Spears as my inspo and asked for 'Kick Me Baby One More Time' and 'I Was Born To Make You Happy' to be embossed on the icing. Thank you to everyone that was able to join us x

If you love Mimosas, you're going to love this recipe. It's my favorite! Serve a big pitcher of Mimosas at brunch for a bright, fresh zing!
Don't confuse this informal gathering with a baby shower; they are not the same.
Some 2.5 years ago, voluntarily jobless and air-dropped to a place where I found mostly disagreements, I fled into the universe of food-blogosphere shielded behind self-loathing, desperation, and above all, in an impenetrable armour of cynicism. In the mist of not... #chili #lemongrass #meatballsub
I'm rubbish at hair...which is kind of ironic considering I have a candy pink barnet. However when it comes to styling...yeah I suck. So today I'm super excited to share an easy tutorial from one of my favourite bloggers Elsie Larson of A Beautiful Mess about how to create a simple and gorgeous beehive hair do.

Where do I even begin explaining the awesomeness that is Sassy of Assassynation wedding photography? You’ve probably seen her amazing work littered all over this blog before because, quite frankly, she pretty much exclusively shoots awesome weddings. She’s also quite bonkers which is why I love her so much. I’ve had many a raucous night out with this little lady […]
We had our New Beginnings last night. It was a fun casual night. The theme of our Night was Adventure Awaits... Come see what the YW will be "UP" to in 2013 We will be using this theme along with the Stand in Holy places throughout the year. I Love President Monsons Talk Your Celestial Journey I thought it went perfect with our Adventure theme. Gaze upward, Look inward- This is where I introduced the YW values and the purpose of Personal Progress Reach outward, and Press forward. Jane found a bunch of these old suit cases at a local thrift shop. We painted the outside and then modpodged cute scrapbook paper on the inside. This is where everyone first came in. The suitcase had the program for the night, and also a little packet of what is going on in 2013. For our SKIT- We had one of the Laurels dress like Russell from the movie up. She had a little sash. The other laurels each talked about a YW value. She would then pin that value on "russells" sash. I just let each Laurel decide what she was going to do for her Value. They were really cute and some of them were pretty dang funny. I wish I had a script of what they said! I had this globe that I thought would work perfect for our year. I put on sticker letters and then spray painted the globe white. Peeled off the stickers then to reveal the stand in holy places. I put this globe out every Sunday. The girls sign in with things that they have done throughout the week to "stand in Holy Places" it has been fun to see what they have written on it. (Seminary, Sports, FHE, Temple attendance, activities with friends etc...) I used 2 build-a-bear boxes for my UP house. I cut one in half to do the porch side of the house. I then covered it with Scrapbook paper I had on hand. (build-a-bear was so nice and just gave me the 2 boxes for free) I forgot to take a picture of our cute food table until it was almost gone... We had cute little make your own fruit pizza's. We had fruit in all the YW value colors (Pineapple, kiwi, strawberries, mandarin oranges, blueberries, purple grapes, golden bananas, and the frosting was white) For the new beehives coming in 2013 we gave a cute little 7-up (original idea found at Marci Coombs blog), and UP2You gum. We had each laurel "interview" a new girl asking her simple questions like her favorite color, subject in school, what kind of animal she would be, what she's most looking forward to about YW etc... We are giving the girls these cute little bottle cap necklaces for their birthdays this year. They are like the cute lil bottle cap pin Ellie gives Carl in the Movie UP. I found them at Hobby Lobby and just used metal stamps to put their initial In my talk I talked about how anywhere we stand can be a holy place. (which is the general YW theme this year) We gave each girl her own lil adventure book. We challenged them to fill it up this year with all their adventures. A place they could put little handouts, pictures of YW activities, notes from lessons, anything that reminds them of all the places they "STAND". My Bishop in his closing remarks talked about the Adventure book in the movie. He said that in the beginning they put the picture of Where they thought their adventure would be. But at the end of the movie Carl finally sees that Ellie had put the adventures of their everyday lives. He said we should make everyday good and something we are proud of. I thought it was cute he Tied in the movie with his remarks (: I got these smash books on such a good clearance sale at twopeasinabucket. We added alittle pocket in the front where the girls can put handouts if they'd like. Here is an outline of our program Here are a few things we put in their little packet. Things we will be "UP" to this next year And here are the invites incase you missed the previous post. We rolled them up and attached them to balloons!

by Susan Baier, Santa Clara (CA) City Library Geronimo Stilton is one of those series that flies off the shelves at our library, so we decided to celebrate The Big Cheese himself during summer reading with an afternoon of “Geronimo Games.” We targeted the program to grades 1st through 5th, and had 135 Geronimo fans in attendance for the hour. We were excited to learn that a Geronimo costume was available for rental through Costume Specialists for $60. The costume consisted of a suit, a jacket, two hand mitts, two fur boots, a fat pad (!), and Geronimo’s (heavy) head. The staff person selected (coerced?) to wear the costume should be of average build and height, and in good physical condition — the costume is hot and heavy! I bought our Geronimo a shower cap to wear as a barrier between her head and the costume. Our program began with...

Last year I hosted a baby shower for my sister. The goals were to make it fun, have people bring adorable baby stuff. The challenge, like a lot of baby showers, is that they can kind of suck -- no one wants to watch a woman open onesies and bottle sets and nipple cream for two hours. There's a lot of amazing baby shower inspiration out there -- and here's mine!
I take this dish to many of my family’s picnics because it's always such a hit. Serve it at any time of day. Quiche makes a great side or meatless main course—and, of course, it's a tasty addition to brunch. —Edie DeSpain, Logan, Utah
