The area of Canada’s east coast by Newfoundland and Labrador is known as Iceberg Alley due to the large number of 10,000-year-old glacial giants (shown) which drift down from the arctic each year.
Conditions have to be really specific for these big, beached icebergs that you can walk around & explore like we did with Rula & Brandon for their engagement session in Alaska! It’s so special to experience these rare, remote places with our couples and helicopters sure make getting to them
I live along the edge of Iceberg Alley and as Springtime edges closer so do the icebergs! They often provide an array of interest and beauty off our coastlines,…

We will continue to document our amazing journeys on Facebook at www.facebook.com. Sign-in to Facebook and do a search for MS Fram. Go to our page and "Like" it and you can follow us. Or just click the link to the right "Follow us on Facebook". Our blog will remain up at mvfram.blogspot.com for the foreseeable future. Another picture from Argentina, let me introduce you to the magnificent Perito moreno Glacier. Located in the Los glaciares National Park in Patagonia, it is one of the most touristic attractions of Argentina. The glacier is HUGE, its terminus is 5 kilometers wide and 60 meters high, as high as a 20 stories building!!! Perito Moreno Glacier is one of the few glaciers that are still growing, progressing as much as 2 meters per day! For me it was an unforgettable experience, walking around for hours on the walkways in front of this monster. And if you stay long enough you can witness the fall of some big pieces of ice into the lagoon, the noise of it looks like the thunder and make you feel so small against nature...

One of them looks like a giant mint humbug, with its clear blue, green and brown stripes. Another looks as if it has been shot through with a streak of spearmint. But these stunning banded icebergs - formed over hundreds, if not thousands, of years - were pictured floating in the waters of the Antarctic. Some of the stripes formed when layers of the iceberg melted and refroze
