Uluru is known as the spiritual heart of Australia. I’d seen photographs of Uluru (formerly known as “Ayers Rock”) since I was young and neglected visiting it. Instead I roamed all corners of the world, while leaving Australia’s outback, my relative backyard, unexplored. I was determined to remedy this injustice in 2018.
Getting a selfie with one of the quokka's at Rottnest Island in Western Australia might look easy, but it took me three visits and 200 pictures! Here's why

I love BSN protein crisp bars, but many of my followers have let me know you can’t get them in Europe or Australia. So I came up with a recipe that tastes just like the BSN crisp bars! BOOM! Ingredients 1/2 cup peanut butter 1/2 cup honey 4 cups Brown Rice Krispies Cereal 1scoop BSN Syntha-6 Edge Peanut Butter Cookie Protein Powder 1/3 cup semi-sweet mini chocolate chips Recipe Spray a sauce pan, a mixing bowl and 8x8 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray Mix peanut butter and honey over low heat in the sauce pan for a few minutes Add 1 scoop of whey to 4 cups of cereal in a mixing bowl. Pour the honey/peanut butter mixture over the cereal and mix it to coat the cereal. Add the chocolate chips. Transfer to a baking dish and pat it down. Place in fridge for an hour before cutting them. Makes 9 squares. Store in fridge. Nutritional Information Makes 9 large squares. 1 square is 246 calories, 9.8g fat, 3.1g saturated fat, 8.1mg cholesterol, 151.6mg sodium, 37.8g carbs, 1.1g fibre, 24.9g sugars, 6.9g protein Also Recommended I've been an intermittent faster and a flexible dieter since 2012. Melbourne has been my home for over 10 years. I started Melbourne Girl in 2009, after falling in love with the city; my new home and all the dreams and inspiration it shares with it's residents and visitors day after day. This leads me to this post, 42 Things I Love about Melbourne.
We chose to visit Uluru in winter because I love my husband and would rather he didn’t die of heatstroke. But with temperatures ranging from the 30s to the 70s, unrelenting sun, and a significant bug factor, it was quite a challenge to pack everything we needed within our 10 kg luggage weight limit.
This pattern is a mini version of my women's A Whole Dot of Love Jumper, designed with the same stitches and shape and including a round neck. It is unisex. The sizes correlate to a child's age so that ages 1 - 12 are covered. The pattern uses DK/8ply/light weight yarn and a 4mm/G hook, or hook to suit gauge. I’ve noticed that some DK weights are slightly finer than some of the ‘8ply’ equivalent I’ve used from Australia. Keep this in mind as you aim for the right gauge. You can adjust the neckline to suit your gauge as long as you follow the measurements approximately. As usual I am happy to answer questions via email or through my Instagram page. A lot of the techniques used in this pattern are available as full tutorials on my Instagram on IGTV and highlights. Sandra x
Whether it’s for a school project, rainy-day boredom buster or creative party decoration, this Fork Painted Koala Bear Craft Idea is the perfect companion for all of the crafters out there.
Hi! sorry I've been quiet..... Its School holidays here in Sydney Australia & everything in my normal working week goes out the window. 3/4 of the kids go back to school tomorrow - fingers crossed I get all my bits n pieces finished off this week and handed over. I've had a few emails asking about fabrics I had used in recent quilts that appeared in Modern Patchwork I very excitingly had three quilts appear in the new Interweave publication & one was on the cover :) The Fabrics for the Yellow wide Stripe quilt - all the text fabric is from my spoonflower BeaSpokeQuilts shop - The yellow flower is a Robert Kaufman Fabric - White homespun - The binding is a grey & white honeycomb - the yellow check is Unknown! I bought it as an end of bolt special at Material Obsession a long long time ago (before they moved), If anyone can help name it Id appreciate it or even maybe let me know of a similar fabric design thats currently around? The Fabric for the Monochromatic Text Quilt is all from my spoonflower designs BeaSpokeQuilts Fabric Shop & the binding is the grey & white honeycomb again the back is pieced of all my left over bits n pieces The Linen Square Block Quilt is Made out of - Natural linen - the inside square is linen - the first frame is Liberty of London pink Paisley - the second frame is Isso Echo, it might be tricky to find - the third frame is Anna Maria Horner Little Folks Village Path - the fourth is by Working CLOTH although it appears the pink is no longer made! Hopefully that helps.... If not then let me know how I can help by commenting on this post or Im also on twitter Below is a bit of a look at what I have achieved in the holidays This is the Swoon block I've been working on, I'm waiting on more fabric to arrive from my Spoonflower shop so that I can finish it all off. below is a bit of a look at a project I did for the Fat Quarterly Team This one was done earlier in the year - I'm busting to show you all and here I have some bits and pieces from a quilt I'm making for The Lovely Ladies at CLOTH Fabric Its a great weight fabric to work with and fantastic colour range. Have a sticky beak at the online store - they currently have some swatch book bundles for sale which would make a great addition to a quilt. Fingers Crossed for a productive week....... Xx Siobhan

Border Collie Training - Dog Training for your Border Collie puppy The training of dogs is often... ... confused with classical dog training drills... only considered necessary for demanding dogs... mocked by other dog owners... replaced by anti-authoritarian methods... considered too difficult to achieve without experience. What constitutes dog training and what is it good for? And how can you and your Border Collie profit from it without having any experience? The most important thing is to understand how a dog sees his world, what is "normal" for him and how you can use this to your advantage. In addition, the characteristics of each breed are significant when you get beyond the basic training phase. Your Border Collie will show characteristics which are different to those of a Pug, for example, and this is predominantly what you need to consider during training. This book is vol. 2 of the Border Collie training books. Vol. 1 for you Border Collie puppy is also available with the title "Border Collie Training Vol. 2: Dog Training for your grown-up Border Collie" Author Claudia Kaiser says about her book: "It was my desire to let other dog owners profit from the knowledge I have gained over many years, and after making many mistakes. I love my dog and know how important it is to adapt the training to suit each breed. It is exactly this desire that prompted me to write this book. My aim is to help every beginner, not only to understand his dog better, but also to know exactly how to get the best results, step-by-step, so that you can achieve a close, positive and trusting human-dog relationship." Quench your curiosity to know about background information, read reports on other experiences and obtain step-by-step instructions and secret tips which are tailor-made for your Border Collie. Get your copy of this book today and experience... ... how your Border Collie sees his world... and how you can progressively train your dog to receive the best results. Your Border Collie will appreciate it... ... so this is my advice: Don't hesitate to buy this book! I drew this greeting card inspired by a random emu. This was my first ever design. I love the way it hasn't brushed it's hair in months - a bit like my own hair. It's beak opens and closes as you open and close the card. This card was created to help fund my dog Magic to work as a therapy dog at STREAT, a charity and social enterprise in Melbourne, Australia. At STREAT she gives love to young people who really need a hand. In creating this card I have considered not just the Product, but also the positive impact it will have for People and the Planet. Here’s some of the card’s key features: PRODUCT: — Size: Folded down to A6 size when closed (standard postcard size) — Colour: Black ink design printed on white card — Pop-up: The mouth of the corgi pops open as the card opens and closes — Envelope: Comes with a coloured envelope PEOPLE — My cards are designed to bring love and laughter to the precious people in your life. They feature really cute designs and puns that always make people laugh — This card is designed to create social impact, with 50% of profit going to fund my dog Magic to work as a therapy dog at charity and social enterprise STREAT. STREAT works with homeless and disadvantaged young people aged 16 to 24 years old and works to take them from crisis to thriving with a healthy self, home and job. PLANET — This card is printed on sustainable 200gsm card stock that is certified by the Forest Stewardship Council — I am working hard to have a zero waste business and wherever possible I will use upcycled packaging materials in sending your card — I hope you keep my card for a really long time, but if you do decide to throw it out, it’s completely biodegradableand won’t harm the Earth
