I remember during the first 5 years of my teaching career I dreaded the first week of school. Yes, I said the first 5 years! I knew what to do after I got started, but I just had trouble getting started. Luckily, I stumbled onto some great books by seasoned teachers that showed me what teaching procedures look like. As I started putting together this back to school unit, I thought back to what I've learned about teaching procedures. I have tons of back to school activities that I've collected over the years, and I'm sure you do to. But how do you use those activities to teach students your classroom procedures? That is what I considered when I put this packet together. When you think about your favorite beginning of the year cooperative activity, consider using an anchor chart to show students what teamwork looks like and sounds like. Be explicit when teaching your procedures and routines. This back to school packet has everything you need to start your year off on the right foot. It includes 9 activities, 4 anchor charts, and a craftivity that makes for a great display. Click HERE to check it out.
Before we get started, or before you click away, I want to say one thing. No, this isn’t a gimmicky post where I’ll try to sell you on the latest and greatest learning method that will teach you to speak your target language in 2 weeks, 1 day or .5674 seconds. It’s actually an honest…

"I won't give up." "I'll try my best." "I can do hard things!" So much #GrowthMindset inspiration on this T's creative chart!

Happy July! How are we halfway through 2023? This ride is too fast. At least we have a lot of great RH books to look forward to reading! Release dates are fluid; I'll try to take a peek and update as I can. Please don't hesitate to let me know if something has shifted or if I've missed a book. Be well, and happy reading! Paige P.S. I do my best guessing on some of these, based on the book description. If I've inadvertently included something that isn't a RH, please let me know so I can remove it. :) Thank you! P.P.S. I'm going to be out again, so the best seller post is going to be delayed until Monday evening. There will not be a post about what books I read this week, I'll double up next Friday, I ran out of time today. Ah, Summer. :) Have a lovely weekend!
