We've started learning about the reading comprehension strategy, Inferring, this week. I L.O.V.E teaching inferring!! It's so fun to see the kids' gears turning and putting the pieces together to figure out what's really going on!
There are various practice pages for letter naming - again in a variety of fonts to help your little ones with font exposure. I think that is so

For the past few years, medieval book historian Erik Kwakkel has been poring over some of the world’s oldest books and manuscripts at Leiden University, The Netherlands, as part of his ongoing research on pen trials. Pen trials are small sketches, doodles, and practice strokes a medieval scribe would make while testing the ink flow of a pen or quill. They usually involve funny faces, letter strokes, random lines, or geometric shapes and generally appear in the back of the book where a few blank pages could be found. More
I absolutely LOVE this! Education.com has free nursery rhyme worksheets to download. What I think it so great is that they have matched up a nursery rhyme with each letter of the alphabet. As you read through, you and your preschooler can identify the letter you’re working on. I love that the font is clear and simple, they show both the upper and lower-case letter examples on the page and they’re cute! Click here to download and print each worksheet. Slip each one into a clear plastic page protector (keep them altogether in a binder or 3-prong folder) Use a dry erase marker to circle, underline or trace the letters. Count the letters and write the number at the bottom. Erase and repeat later. Love it! Learning letters and nursery rhymes at the same time!

Theory of Function Spaces II deals with the theory of function spaces of type Bspq and Fspq as it stands at the present. These two scales of spaces cover many well-known function spaces such as Hölder-Zygmund spaces, (fractional) Sobolev spaces, Besov spaces, inhomogeneous Hardy spaces, spaces of BMO-type and local approximation spaces which are closely…

373 days of loving more! “How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.” ~ Elizabeth Barrett Browning Oh, there are so many different ways I love my boys, how can I even count them all?! I love how kind they are to someone who is sick. I love how determined and creative they are when making Lego

When I was student teaching I discovered something that I never knew: I L.O.V.E. teaching science! Funny story-I discovered this while creating a plant unit for student teaching and I have the farthest thing from a green thumb out there. Seriously, I think a plant dies just when I look at it! Ha! Good thing that even dead plants work as great scientist projects! ;) Now, whenever I tell my students that we are going to be scientists (a.k.a. have science) my kids let out a cheer that rivals the cheer that they give when I tell them we have gym! ha! Ok, so maybe the gym cheer is a *little* louder, but it's pretty darn close! ;) Here is part of the reason that my kids beg for science: They actually BECOME scientists and get to wear Scientist Lab coats anytime that we do science! Since science involves lots of hands-on experiments (which I LOVE) and often incorporates supplies and instructions that need to be handled and followed carefully, I came up with the idea to turn old, white T-shirts into scientist lab coats! During science, I address students as "Scientist {insert last name}." All scientists must listen to the head scientist {a.k.a. me} or they will loose their scientist lab coat and the privileges that come with it. Trust me-I've only ever had to take away one lab coat and then there are no problems! At the beginning of the year, I ask parents to send in a clean, white t-shirt and then after learning about being scientists, I have the kids make their own lab coats. Here's how you can have your class become scientists! I promise that not only is this very easy to do, but it is also very effective! I have the students keep their lab coats in their reading book bags on their chair, so that they can easily get and wear the scientist lab coats for science! We will soon be putting on our scientist lab coats again for a SWEET SCIENCE experiment: Valentine's Day style! We will be using three types of Valentine's Candy to make a hypothesis, conduct an experiment, and state a conclusion: Font and Clipart by: Miss Tiina and KPM Doodles Why not make have your kids make scientist lab coats and then use them with this sweet FREEBIE!
