You've given up the behavior chart. Now what do you do to keep the classroom running smoothly and behavior in check? Here are solutions and ideas!
Which number do you see? This set is ideal for introducing numbers in the first class! The large cards allow children to learn numbers in a creative imaginative, symbolic and meaningful way. These "Hidden numbers" cards can be printed recto verso in order to have the image on the front and the beautiful poetry on the back. The children can guess the hidden number observing the image. They can read the image on many levels (counting elements, listening to the poetry, finding numbers in shape and geometry); each child sees something different and when this happens is really magical! The "Hidden numbers" document can be printed in A3 format. The resolution and quality of the drawing are high (were originally made on A3 paper). Ideal to hang in the classroom after guessing, drawing and number writing. The small cards (8,5x11cm) can be introduced in a second moment to exercise and memorize the numbers and symbols. For example the children pick a card and have to say the number and show it with their fingers as fast as possible. This material is made by a Waldorf teacher with lots of love, first for the pupils, now for you. In proceeding to the command you will have: -two pdf documents that group the digit posters (to be printed in A3, A2, or A4 size) - numbers 1 to 9 -one pdf document that includes the small cards (to be printed in A4 size and cut them out) - numbers 1 to 10 You can then directly access the documents by following these steps: 1. Log in to your Etsy account. 2. Click on “You” (top right) 3. Choose “Purchases and reviews” 4. Find the order. Click on “Download Files” (to the right of the order) 5. The file will go to your “Downloads” folder Please leave me a comment if you are interested in buying the finished cards and how big would you like to have them. Thank you! Note on authors copyright: this material cannot be copied or disseminated I also offer support and advice about planning a Steiner - Waldorf curriculum at home or in small school realities :) please contact me if you need. www.amaeducation.one

I keep coming back to this flattering, wearable shape. It’s fun to knit, easy to seam, and I just love wearing these comfy, loose pullovers with a shirt tail peeking out beneath the hem. Fernet Branca features a simple textured block motif, bookended by bold ribs and cables on either side of the body. My favorite part of this design might just be how those panels meet under the arms. On the back of the sweater, I added a central spine and changed the cable panels just a bit to keep things interesting. Then I designed the neckline so the sweater can be worn with either side facing front, so feel free to flip it depending on your mood! It’s reversible! Plus there’s this YARN. I’ve been waiting impatiently to work in Green Mt Spinnery’s Weekend Wool for a while now, and it did not disappoint. The color, the stitch defnition, and the soft, round fiber are spot on. When I first swatched these motifs in the Pine Warbler, my heart kind of skipped a beat -- and I didn’t put the needles back down until it was done. As always, I’ve added a few notes to the pattern about modifications for your own body, and there will be thread in my BabyCocktails group for knitting along or any questions that come up! Yardage By Size: Sizes: 38.5(39.5,42.25,44.25,46)(49.5,53,56.75,58.25,61,67)”/ 97.75(100.25, 107.25,112.5,116.75)(125.75,134.5,144,148 ,155,170.25)cm based on sweater circumference around body at bust. For fit shown, choose the size that allows for 5-6”/12.75-15.75cm of positive ease at bust. Or choose the size that gives you the amount of ease you prefer in your sweaters. Yardage: 1000(1100,1200,1300,1350) (1450,1575,1675,1800,1950,2100)yds 915(1005,1100,1190,1235) (1325,1440,1535,1650,1785,1920)m If substituting yarn, I suggest a nice round worsted or a heavy worsted weight wool. Tweeds, heathers or solids will be beautiful and show off the pattern well. Sweater is knit from the bottom up in 4 pieces (front, back, sleeves) and seamed at shoulders, underarm and sides. Seams are straight and simple. Cables are both charted and written. Color Shown: Pine Warbler

Do you want to get started with project based learning, but you’re not sure how? Maybe project based learning sounds too complicated, in-depth, and overwhelming to you? That’s how I felt when I first delved into PBL. But now I know there is nothing to be afraid of! In this post, I will give a quick explanation of project-based learning and then give you some tips and ideas to begin to implement it in your own classroom. What is Project Based Learning? Project based learning, simply stated, is an authentic learning experience
We are currently starting our final projects of the year. [I can't believe it!] But for now, let me catch you up on what we just finished... 5th and 4th grade have been working on the same concepts for the past two projects. Both grades participated in a school wide Egyptian art unit by creating Egyptian sarcophagi. They reviewed SYMMETRY, and learned about hieroglyphics. After that, they learned about creating TINTS and SHADES by making an undersea painting. You can find these handouts here- http://www.teachandshoot.com/2015/02/art-room-handouts-round-3-value.html I would have let the students have more freedom with other colors, but I really only had blue left, and underwater came to mind. Thanks for visiting! 3rd grade also participated in the Egyptian art unit by creating Egyptian PORTRAITS! This might be my favorite project from this year. What a wonderful job the students did! After that, 3rd grade made ORIGAMI frogs, but I forgot to take photos! After origami, 3rd grade started creating ASSEMBLAGE art like the artist Louise Nevelson. They are just starting to paint their sculptures this week! 2nd grade created a fun pyramid COLLAGE as part of the Egyptian art unit! After that, 2nd and 1st grade both created ABSTRACT Picasso PORTRAITS. 1st grade and kindergarten created Egyptian necklaces and learned a little bit about PERSPECTIVE by drawing the pyramids. Kindergarten just finished learning about weaving by creating some alligator WEAVINGs!
