Happy weekend before Christmas! I've been busy doing some holiday baking lately, and this morning I made these Bailey's balls, which ar...
All-inclusive resorts tend to get a bad rap with younger travelers — here are five hotels that prove they shouldn't.
Another vivid sunset in western Jamaica. Holiday weekends find the beach flooded with locals from all over the parish rather than just the brisk tourist trade. This young couple just dropped to the sand for a nap, with no blanket nor towel, too exhausted to care. I sketched them quickly, unobserved and unnoticed, while sitting on the beach in Negril, Jamaica. ______________________________________________________________ This is an archival print of my watercolor painting, "Beach No. 2. " The 6"x 8," 9"x 12" and the 12"x 16" prints are printed on Hahnemuehle's archival William Turner paper - a mould-made 100% cotton paper, 310gsm, with a slightly textured surface. Larger prints are printed on Somerset Velvet archival art paper. All flat prints have an additional .5-inch border, with the exception of the smallest flat print, the 6"x8" size, which has an additional 1-inch border. The 6"x8" print option, mounted on a basswood panel, is printed flush to the edges, has no border, and is ready to hang. The wood panel is 7/8 inches deep. These prints are hand signed by me and will be shipped in either a flat in a rigid mailer via USPS or rolled in a mailing tube. This listing is for the print only, mat and frame are not included _____________________________________________________________ Back to my shop's home page: http://www.etsy.com/shop/vhmckenzie ______________________________________________________________ Follow me on Instagram @vhmckenzie

For hotel recommendations, I love Tensing Pen, obviously as it’s where I got married at, but also Rockhouse and Catcha Falling Star are all nearby and great resorts too. The cliffs are a pretty amazing place, it’s like no other tropical destination – check out my wedding pics for a good example of the cliffs! We stayed a bit more inland near the beach this time (the cliffs = no beach but amazing views and sunsets) and we enjoyed it but I would rather return to the cliffs next time. I went a totally different route and booked us a private villa at Moondance Villas that included our own personal butler, bartender and chef! We were in the Lilac Mist villa and we really enjoyed it. It was so awesome to have all of our meals served in our own little dining area and each morning we’d tell our chef whatever we wanted to eat that day and then they’d serve it to us whenever we wanted. I felt so spoiled! (if you […]
