For the design of the Tube watch LEFF Amsterdam teamed up with Dutch Designer Piet Hein Eek. Piet’s unparalleled vision on design and LEFF Amsterdam's raw, industrial and sophisticated approach, came together in an amazing collection of refined yet tough watches. The design of the Tube watch has an iconic extruded ring that functions as the clock’s face. Therefore, you can recognize every LEFF Amsterdam watch by this unique characteristic. The T-series Classic is contemporary yet timeless: a design enveloped in history and tradition, but one which maintains the raw twist of its industrial features. Five years after the Tube watch was first introduced, LEFF's collection was once again evolving. The T-series Classic emulates and evolves the design specifications of the T-series, with 32mm and 40mm diameter cases and interchangeable straps. The contrast between the case and the dial distinguishes the Classic from all else: bringing you enduring elegance with a raw urban edge.LEFF's design principles focus on high-quality materials and basic geometry. The products within the collection have a recognizable raw and industrial character, while still keeping a sophisticated aesthetic. In LEFF's studio in Amsterdam their design team shapes and engineers every detail, resulting in completely custom watches that stand out from the crowd.Quality is of the utmost importance to LEFF Amsterdam. They always use high-quality materials from a reliable and responsible source. Therefore, all their watches are created and developed with care. They work closely with experienced manufacturers that fully support the idea that design pieces should be durable. Piet Hein Eek (1967) graduated from the Design Academy in Eindhoven (NL) in 1990 with his classic scrap wood cupboard. The most significant factor in Eek's career has been the creation of a world that embodies the entire process, from idea to consumer. This has proved to be an exceptional way of producing since it is quite rare to both design and produce furniture 'under the same roof' in countries with high labour costs. Each product is designed with a focus on the material, techniques and craftsmanship required to make it. In 2010, Piet Hein Eek moved his company from Geldrop to a former Philips factory in Eindhoven. The most important part of the company is the production facility (wood, metal, ceramics upholstery and cartonnage) which is located in the heart of the building. The transparency of the building gives visitors insight into the whole production process. The concept of offering a total experience starts with the showroom and the production processes but also includes a restaurant, an art gallery, rented studios, a chip shop, a hairdresser and from October 2020 there will also be a hotel. Eek has worked together with architect Iggie Dekkers since 2015, designing a range of houses and undertaking architectural redevelopments and other construction projects. Eek has created his own world which has developed into an important cultural hub in the city of Eindhoven; a dynamic centre where creativity, production and sales go hand in hand.
